PRESIDENT KAGAME PROMOTES 478 CADET GRADUATES

- Rwanda's President Paul Kagame presided over the pass-out of 478 Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) officer cadets, who completed a military training course at the Rwanda Military Academy (RMA) in Gako, Eastern Province. The course took one year but those with special skills such as trained doctors and engineers among others did seven months.In a colourful ceremony attended by various foreign delegates, the President, who is also the Commander-in-Chief, promoted the cadet graduates to the rank of Second Lieutenant. The 478 commissioned officers with Second-Lieutenant rank include 68 ladies all trained for one year, except 24 candidates who received 7 month special courses abroad.
