    It’s very laudable to do what you can and that’s totally fine. Just audio samples and tests with different voices is very helpful when choosing a mic. The more you hear the better.

    What do you prefer mv7 plus or rode podmic usb

    • @leo_hoang
      @leo_hoang  5 дней назад

      Purely based off audio quality I prefer the Shure MV7+
      But it’s a significant cost difference to the Rode…
      and my personal choice would be to just buy MV7 + MVX2U for the same price…
      But if you’re just going to focus between these two mic’s, then it’s purely down to price really as I think both are good, one is better than the other, but it’s also more expensive…
      But for the same money, my preference would be to go with the combo I suggested in the video…
      I wouldn’t ever think to use the MV7+ as an XLR mic as you lose the LED lights and all those processing abilities which are USB only features when using as XLR, then it just becomes an MV7X which is cheaper…

      @@leo_hoang first of all thanks a lot for replying 🙏, and the last para was eye opening, nobody in RUclips mentioned that😂.
      For the combo you suggested, it's actually costlier than getting a MV7 plus itself in the place where I live(india) and also I've seen many PPL saying that MV7 plus on usb just doesn't sound good as compared to the XLR connection.
      So I'm just super confused rn, also what about the rode xdm 100, is it any good.
      I have a deep voice and Im gonna record in a untreated room for my gaming news commentary style videos.Hope for some more answers from you sir, thanks in advance

      @@Daxverse no problem - my view is I would not buy the microphone so I can switch between XLR or USB. I’d typically be one or the other as I don’t tend to move my desk mic around a lot. Once it’s setup, it’s setup…
      The video provides audio samples for both mics so you can listen and judge for yourself. If you can’t hear the difference, then just go for whatever is cheapest…
      Or consider the older MV7… it’s still a good mic and has the exact same capsule as the new MV7+
      I might actually record a video to discuss this “what mic to buy” topic…

    Which one had a better software in your opinion in terms of ease of use and functionality? Thanks for the review.

    • @leo_hoang
      @leo_hoang  3 месяца назад +2

      Thanks for watching! I haven’t used both softwares much, but what I will say is I found Shure’s software is more intuitive.
      This is a very subjective thing of course, but I remember feeling just a little more confused by Rode’s software.
      Shure’s software just felt more intuitive for me.
      Personally I will be using the Rode Unify App as I use the Rode Streamer X and I will be refunding the Shure MV7+
      Which setup do you have?

      @@leo_hoang Thanks for sharing your experience.
      My setup is non existent, I'm building a setup (PC/monitor/mic/boom arm) I think I will go with USB mics because I mainly game, content creation or streaming is something I might do just for fun so I don't want to clutter my setup with all that unnecessary equipment, the cost and complexity is also a factor for why I'm avoiding XLR+Audio interface

      @@KaledTV yeah, I feel for a very simple USB setup the MV7+ will work great… I just suspect there are cheaper options is all.
      Have you considered the Rode XDM100? Are you UK based?

    • @KaledTV
      @KaledTV 3 месяца назад +1

      @@leo_hoang No I'm not UK based.
      I have considered the XDM100, actually was one of the most interesting ones I found but many other reviewers complained about the software. I also heard that the Shure MV7 tends to work better while being 1 foot away from the mic in case I don't want it up in my face when I'm playing games, have you found that the MV7 works better than the XDM100 when it's relatively far from your mouth for a dynamic mic?

    on the Mv7+ do you prefer how it sound on xlr or on usb ?

    • @leo_hoang
      @leo_hoang  3 месяца назад +1

      I didn’t do an A/B test with it on XLR vs USB, but what I will say is listening back to this video to me it sounds quite average and I didn’t get that same feeling as when I compared this via XLR against the MV7X… I did actually pack it up as I was about to return it but now you got me curious, one more test coming up!

    • @Edoardo-jh9yg
      @Edoardo-jh9yg 3 месяца назад

      @@leo_hoang I feel you, actually I've seen many reviews because I was interested to buy the Mv7+ but basically everyone is a bit disappointed about the usb sound of this + version, even compared to the old Mv7, for some reasons it sound worse, more muffled, I don't think that is an hardware issue, or at least I hope so, but anyway I think I'll just grap the Mv7x, it cost half of the price and with a good audient mkII its still more convenient, that said my only regret would be the mute button that I really would like to have on my mic, especially because this one is very well implemented, but if the sound is worse, a mute button doesnt justified the purchase.
      Anyway ill stay tuned for your next video!
