Thank you - I have been thinking to switch over as a couple of editors I’ve worked with are using this and it would have been handy to be on this software when it comes to making small tweaks. I could have just taken the project file off them and did myself much quicker. But as a whole, I do need Adobe so I feel a bit stuck…

I genuinely appreciate comments like these as you’re not the first to say it… it’s also because this is exactly my goal, I just want to give the information direct and share my opinion… When I consume RUclips it bugs me a bit they try be funny when it’s clearly not natural to them, fancy animations and long winded intro’s and title cards… But! Those are the videos that seem to be performing well for them so I guess it’s what most people want… So I’m glad there’s a small segment of people who prefer the raw and honest stuff… so thank you for the encouragement! 💪

I have tried both in fact as I do have a windows laptop also and neither work… It’s unfortunate as I’ve come to accept my loss on money and the drive is now just dead in my drawer… The drive would have otherwise been so good! Small, fast etc. but I have seen in other reviews and forums that they have experienced the same

Yes - it’s in the camera settings for what you choose to have transfer over to LR, you can choose raws or 2mp jpgs for speed. Then it’s your usual standard or simultaneous recording in camera depending what you usually have it set as

I feel there is a difference in sound quality for sure… but with most audio differences, it’s only really heard when you’re comparing side by side… My fake didn’t sound bad to me when it’s all I knew… but when I heard the genuine one, it clearly sounded better… but I had no complaints when the fake MV7 is all I had…

@@leo_hoang Pulled the trigger on this one. Had to use a Neewer battery since the Sony one was empty and had a Sigma lens on, no issues during or after the upgrade. What I noticed immediately was the boot speed, it turns on almost instantly... Not complaining about the battery or lens after the upgrade, all good!

I’ve done a video on this topic and it could be a Grey Market version… check the video out and compare the labels. Sometimes on Amazon you are purchasing via a 3rd Party Seller rather than Amazon directly. So you gotta keep an eye out on your listings.

@@leo_hoang I will watch that, however the receipt and order details says “Sold by AMAZON UK” so is this still possible that it would come from 3Rd party seller? Also is grey market still legit or not?

@@leo_hoang also the new one from Amazon has a rougher texture on the metal used for the main body, my older one (also older packaging) has smooth surface. How’s the one you unboxed? Thanks for the help btw 🙏🏻

Yep! Unfortunately this also affects FX3 firmware as well as A7RV and FX30… all removed for various issues… So consider yourself lucky that you dodged a bullet

Yeah, bang for buck FX30 is great! I’ve seen them on the used market now for very affordable prices…

It’s been on my to-do list for months to follow up with my conclusion on the Shure SM7B and I admittedly go back and forth on my views… but people definitely do go for SM7B automatically for its “look” over the sound which is what mics should be about… but it’s that social media status of a Shure SM7B

Yeah I can confirm this is my last Crucial drive. I had X8 which was blazing fast for the first 2min before slowing down to a crawl and overall was slower to copy large projects to than my USB3.0 Western Digital Hard Drives… it didn’t fail me, but speeds were not up to standard… This failure is the nail in the coffin for me… I will look to other brands before considering Crucial ever again… Sorry to hear about your data loss

@@leo_hoang In Europe we have no support... and I already spent 2 days to recover the datas one by one... (the drive stop working after 2 minutes on the PC and after maybe 4 on the Mac, making them both crash at the same time I had some Samsung ones before so I think I try them once again as I need large 4To ones to do redondant data transfert (the format of X8/9/10 was nice but honestly crucial by this mistake will get the reputation seagate had by the past....) I never expected to have the same problem simultaneously on 5 drives bought at different times.

I didn’t mention it in the video, so no worries… but I updated the week before and it was version 4…

If it’s just for my FX30, that’s an easy one… it’s just the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens… if you’re curious about full what I own type of video, it will be a looooooooong video lol

Thanks for sharing! Yes, that sounds strange that it took you through the steps for nothing. Someone else told me a similar story about going through the update process but doesn’t have shutter angle. As your cine lens is manual, I can’t imagine you experiencing an issue with it. Others have reported in consistent AF… It does sound very strange that the app highlights v5, goes through steps, but then doesn’t update. But I do feel this was part of Sony suspending it. Just a strange way of them suspending it. I did two videos covering this topic and it’s honestly very odd that they didn’t just make it more obvious themselves that it’s suspended.

@@leo_hoang I'm a Sony fan, but Sony really screwed up the rollout for this firmware update. Speaking of screw ups...RED used to do this fairly consistently in the beginning. They'd send out a new "build" without testing and then not fess up to it. AC's would be tearing their hair out trying to get those RED ONEs to work after some of the firmware updates. 🙂

I’m using the Rodecaster Pro II, this mic is an XLR microphone so I don’t believe you can use it without an interface… I’ve run it through the Rodecaster without any processing and it sounds ok. Not to my taste. But for £15 it’s a good enough raw sound for it to be processed in a good way… If it’s all I could afford I wouldn’t be too restricted by it… Overall I prefer a better mic but this performs great for its price so a good starter for sure…

I’ve not tested that myself as I don’t have the SM7DB and I no longer have MVX2U… but as the SM7DB has a built in pre-amp, this should allow a cleaner signal seeing as the SM7DB is carrying that extra load for the signal. But I’ve not tested this myself… I remember seeing a test where someone added an in-line preamp (Fethead) before it connected to the MVX2U interface and that did help the noise floor - I can’t remember who did that test though…

@@creativegreatsvisuals yes, but the SM7DB has a built in preamp for clean gain… SM7B doesn’t have a built in preamp, so the inline preamp was needed… Either way, you’re adding in an additional preamp, just one is inline and one is built in… So in theory it should work the same. But I don’t have either to test for myself.

@@creativegreatsvisuals you can turn off the preamp in SM7DB and bypass it to essentially make it an SM7B, the mic is essentially the same… one with a preamp, one without

Sounds like a cop out answer but start with your phone… In 2024 the landscape has change and you can genuinely get high paying clients with just your phone as there are people out their wanting stuff specifically for social media and prefer it shot via their phone so it’s not as polished and more “engaging” - there’s data out there which shows if you produce too high quality of content, people assume it’s a professionally made advert and don’t engage… but more relatable phone captured content connects with audiences more… So I am suggesting for you to start here… Then as money progresses and you work your way up, then start buying what you need and you will realise along the way what you’re needing… It’s taken me 13yrs of buying and selling stuff based off needs… and realising there’s stuff I just want, but don’t need… and then prioritising that way… You will only truly know until you start…

@@leo_hoang I already have a Canon 700D, with a few lenses. I already did some photos on my Iphone 13, but i just needed that bokeh of the lenses. I bought a few cheap vintage lenses, a Helios 44-2 and a Yashica 50mm f1.7. I like it very much, however i still dont know how to get a bit of fame. I already tried the TikTok format you was talking about, but TikTok limits your videos to be only seen from your own country's watchers, and because i live in a small country, getting fame is really hard.

@@balazslennek my channel isn’t exactly the most successful so I can only offer limited advice. If you’re doing it for fame then you will lose motivation quickly… Try do it from a perspective of sharing value or opinions… Just start creating content and you will find what limits you with time… Content ideas, equipment, or simple your interest in the platform or niche…

FX3 would need version 6 which was also suspended… what version are you using on your FX3?

As great as the camera is, you can always start with what you have. I have accumulated my kit over 13yrs so I have access to a lot at the moment… anything I am missing I can rent if really needed… just start shooting, the more you shoot the more workarounds you find to achieve your goals

That won’t work - the MVX2U needs to goto a computer/laptop and then ideally through their MOTIV software

Regarding your dilemma, it depends on how patient you can be really… I wouldn’t exactly say one is better than the other, you can get the job done on either of those options…

I have both the FX30 and the A6700. I do run and gun style interviews of tattoo artists. One thing about the A6700. It does overheat when used it for longer time.

Yeah - I had A6700 last year and before I started posting actual videos, I did upload some shorts last year with some tests and I was getting around 40min of solid record time before overheating… changing the different settings didn’t seem to impact too much for me… this is why I switched to FX30 as I have my full frame kit for photos and video, but I just wanted at least one for myself where I didn’t have to worry about overheating… If I had unlimited money I’d just have at least one of everything lol

It’s honestly frustrating that they didn’t make it more obvious it’s been suspended…

@@titan4260 I need to review the update through app process myself, but from what I can tell all it does is downloads the file to your phone wirelessly, then copies it to your SD card wirelessly through the camera then it’s the same install process… so it just removes the need for you to physically take SD card out, copying it over via laptop, and then physically putting the card back in… I will have a few FX30’s to update once the bugs are fixed and I will compare the two processes when it’s update time

Sony suspended the update - there are some users who have commented on this video and the last one who have the update available if you’re really wanting it… but personally because of the suspension I would wait for them to iron out the bugs… but the option to contact the other users who still have the file is there for you if you wanted

I’m not entirely sure, but is this a PAL vs NTSC setting issue?

@@leo_hoang Nothing like that, I recently saw a comment in another video, that after v2.0 the frame rates are really like that, the only real 24fps is in the 4k DCI codec

you are correct it has 1/48th for 24 P in DCI only, and there is no 60p DCI I also was wondering why I saw on some videos people with 1/48th on the screen, after researching it it is ONLY for 24p and DCI at the moment. That is also why I asked if the new Shutter Angle was true 1/48th and 120/th and why that is not an option anyways manually. There are people that try and fake it with variable shutter to control flicker but I am assuming it is not the same

Which batteries do you use? I have K&F USB-C rechargeable ones and when it dies completely and turn on the camera, it will still register as empty but then later kick in to give a reading…

@@ekphotographyI use it as a dummy battery with USB-C connected to the battery and leave the battery door open. Sometimes I’m charging other devices and unplug the cable and then forget to plug back into the camera and then the camera shuts off… when it does that, I would take the battery out, connect to USB, charge for a bit, and then when I add back into the camera it reads as a completely empty battery but works… then randomly it would magically say 100% available after a couple minutes…

I have a download link in my pinned comments, I’ve upgraded and the only thing I can confirm is the 3 party batteries issue but its not all, because my Watson batteries don’t give me the warning. They still work it’s just going to tell you that it’s a third party accessory. The lens is fine I have the same lens and that doesn’t give a warning.
