Just got Rings. You are getting some wonderful sounds with this thing. For me, there seems to be a bit of a learning curve with this module. It seems like it should just immediately sound amazing, but getting it to soon as nice as you are is going to take some work.
Thanks dude ! There's no magic here, just mess with it for hours, play with all the modulation inputs and try things ! You'll master it pretty quickly, and you'll have a lot of fun doing it ! Cheers man, and never stop believing in control voltage
Hey I'm glad you discovered that with my video ! 😁 I got a Rings clone too, and I think there are easter egg modes natively, but you can expand the potential with the alternative firmwares that are described and downloadable on synthmodes.com/modules/rings. To be honest I don't really remember if I installed anything or if it's fully "clean", but this is pretty simple to do anyway. You just send and the update via an audio file through the audio input. At least this is how I manage to install alternative firmwares in my Clouds.
how is rings patched for the section starting at 0:46 that sounds like wind chimes? just patching into V/oct? or using the in input or strum input? great video. your voice is nice to listen to.
Hehe, thank YOU for taking the time to watch my stuff and give me some feedback ! We are all newbies in a way :) If you have any question about modular or synths in general don't hesitate to come to me on Instagram, we'll talk about it
Hehehe merci beaucoup pour ce retour ! C'est vrai qu'il y a un peu un parti pris ASMR 🙃 Et si tu as appris deux trois trucs au passage, j'ai réussi ma mission
Thank you ! Well it's an excellent question, and it's a shame that I didn't cover it in the video. I've been searching for this info myself, watching my own video months after releasing it, and I was disappointed. I guess you have to long press the polyphony button, but I'm not sure. All you need to know is right there www.infinitesimal.eu/modules/index.php/Mutable_Instruments_Rings , and/or right there synthmodes.com/modules/rings/ .
I am sincerely sorry that it hurted your feelings in any way, I never wanted to jab anyone, just to make a reference to a french meme that made me laugh at the time of the video. And, I agree, my sens of humor leaves a lot to be desired.
@@LaBeatrie I can appreciate wanting to reference a meme but like, did the original meme reference genderfluid people? Either way it's not really cool to mock people for a gender identity they have no control over but "gender fluid semi Lebanese" seems really weirdly specific for a meme
Next episode will be focused on the Yamaha Reface CP. Please give me any feedback to improve my content !
The mutable rings in "Disastrous Peace" mode is the ultimate chord machine for making old school techno and filter house :D
True story ! With a extra sweet low pass filter, it's purrrfect

I have a Rings clone, and have never found any of the hidden modes. Mind you, I haven’t looked… Thanks for the inspiration!

Gorgeous tones, beautiful rig !
Thank you man ! Wish you the best

As you can see in the video, I almost use only the v/oct input, to use the Rings as a simple synth voice :) Thanks for your great feedback btw !
Mind blown . My fav module so far but I'm a newbie still lol This is amazing...thanks!!

Merci bien 🙂🙂
Are you adding reverb somehow?Around 1:30 mark... :)
Yes I am, pretty much everywhere in this video... 🙂 Probably the factory one from Ableton Live 10
thank you for this easter egg tip! I've got nanoRings, took some time to place knobs in right position though :D
You're welcome buddy ! Haha yeah I know what you mean, I just got a nanoGrids, and those knobs aren't that easy to tweak 😁
Is that a rich vreeland reference ?
I guess so, but I don't know !
is that eddy wally in the intro? :D
Hehe yup that's him ! 😁
@@LaBeatrie Gewèèèèldig :)
Super intéressant, ça a un coté super relaxant de te voir bidouiller ton engin.
(No puns intended)
Hehehe merci beaucoup pour ce retour ! C'est vrai qu'il y a un peu un parti pris ASMR 🙃 Et si tu as appris deux trois trucs au passage, j'ai réussi ma mission
Thx for the video, very nice! How do you go back to normal mode?

awosome!
Thanks mate !
The jab at gender fluid people was not necessary and comes across as inexplicably mean spirited
