    Idaho’s elections are currently simple and straight forward. Prop 1 would add $40 million to elections and require changing 42 Sections of the Idaho Code according to Idaho Secretary of State.
    Don’t fall for these messages that say thousands are being kept out of elections because they don’t want to be part of a political party. If you want to vote in a primary for a candidate in a given party all you have to do is opt in to that party for the primary election. You can opt out later if you don’t want to be known as a member of a party. Would you allow an opposing team on the court to pick your players? Members of a political party should feel confident that the candidate for their party is not the 2nd or 3rd choice. Vote NO on Prop 1. Let’s keep it simple.

    My sister is a die hard Dem, she says she registers as Republican and votes for the least Republican candidate, a RINO. She supports Prop 1, so I know not to.
    She voted for Obama because "it's time for a black President".
    She voted Killary, "because it's time for a woman President".
    Same for this selected lady.
    People want to move here and change it to the way it was where they left. Well they left there for a reason..

      Well im with your sister when it comes to voting for the least republican republican because the candidates in Idaho have gotten way crazy and extreme. Her reasons for voting for Hillary and Obama sound dumb assuming you’re actually being honest about why your sister believes the things she does. I suspect you’re being disingenuous and simplifying her motivations because you have a strong resentment toward her and you guys can’t actually discuss politics like polite adults and instead choose to belittle each others thought process. Either way, vote yes prop one. I’m a moderate conservative and I’d love to see Idaho chill out a bit on the radical politics

    Questions: During Open Primaries, does that mean I can vote in both Democrat and Republican primaries in a voting year? Or, does Prop 1 allow me to vote in either but only one, I must choose one. Against Ranked Choice Voting, and the way Prop 1 included that part…It was not omitted/talked about in all the Political Paid TV Adds?🤨

    • @HeatMiserr
      @HeatMiserr 3 месяца назад

      Long answer incoming- First of all yes, you can vote in both primaries and on top of that you won’t even be required to register with a specific party. You just go and vote. Also this would slightly alter the way the primaries proceed and make it so the 4 candidates with the most votes would advance no matter party affiliation. Meaning that if people refuse to vote in the democratic primaries or vice versa you could end up with only republicans/ only democrats running against each other ranging from more to less extreme l. Since it’s Idaho it would more likely be all republicans. Moderate republicans vs radical republicans. Finally after the primaries , Under rank-choice voting, voters rank their preferred candidates rather than selecting one candidate to receive their votes. If no candidate wins a majority of first-choice votes, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. That candidate’s votes are then redistributed based on voters’ ranked preferences. This process is repeated until one candidate receives a majority. Keep in mind you don’t have to rank, you can pick one candidate while leaving the rest blank and avoid the possibility of helping another candidate if you really don’t want to. ranked choice usually results in more moderate candidates becoming elected. As a more moderate conservative myself I am hyped for this because I hate how radical candidates in Idaho have become and this would mitigate that. Personally I support prop one but it’s complicated and I wouldn’t judge someone for being skeptical or deciding not to. I’m sure there are some valid critiques. Don’t listen to the ads though, do actual research on what it would do vs current system. Hope this helped 👍

      Please please at least read in depth what it actually does. I can send links to in depth explanations if you want. It’s not as bad as the ads are saying and most conservative Idahoans have been convinced. It won’t turn Idaho blue. I’m a conservative and I’m tired of all these radical conservative politicians being my only option, they’re insane. It will help with electing more moderate and reasonable conservative candidates that actually represent the majority of what the people of Idaho actually believe. You all are being manipulated into hating prop one by ads, politicians and media funded by sleazy radical nepo babies and voting no only helps them maintain a strangle hold on our state’s politics

    Its very important that Prop 1 passes. It'll eliminate the easy elections politicians love but citizens hate. The voices of citizens will be louder and politicians will be forced to clean up their act. Politicians only oppose ranked choice voting because they know they'll have to actually be a good politician to win, and unfortunately far too many elected officials are failing that qualification.

    • @CrowDazzle
      @CrowDazzle 3 месяца назад +2

      Valid point. Seems like the Republican's here are just coasting because they don't have to try hard. The results from this will be a great litmus test to see how much bluer Idaho is turning. They forget there are centrists in this state and if they feel a Republican isn't working for them, then we'll find someone who is, no matter the side they are on.
