  • The Americans introduced the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. THe purpose was to establish America as the most powerful country in the known world. Europeans and Africans all participated and benefited from the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
Only the strongest and the smart captives survived this horrific odyssey.

I love how he said he was doing them a favour-taking them and introducing them to christianity. Can't beleive how these people thought.

The Trans Atlantic slave trade began with Portugal in the 1500s. Brazil had the closest proximity to Africa.

It was really creepy how these guys really felt that they were better than another race that they seemed not even to know much about. This is really creepy ! Scary in a sence.

As an African this brings tear in my eyes. Some called me property today and said we should throw me out of the window like out of the sea.

The average life expectancy of a slaver who went into main land Africa was one year. The smart ones stayed to the coasts

Remember that Mauritania, Mali, Libya, Niger, and Nigeria still have slavery even today in 2023. All of those countries are in Africa.

I am so glad to be Native American. I cant imagine having to be a slave and deal with what the Africans had to deal with

My 4th grade teacher showed us this in 1991. Fucked a lot of us up in class.

I have vivid recollections of this miniseries when I watched it on TV as a 3rd grader when it first premiered in the 1970s. I hope one day viewing this becomes part of every high school history curriculum in the U.S.
