yep after harvesting the sweet potatoes, we will cut the potato stems to make seedlings for the next crop

What are the cuttings you put in the bags?
Those are branches from the previous sweet potato plant, or you can create those branches by burying a few sweet potatoes in the soil, which will create those cuttings.
