that was the era of the James brown samples. thats why a lot of songs from 86 to 89 sound similar.
this was an ll cool j diss song, on the album cover his jeeps front tire was on top of a red kangiol fisherman hat, which was ll's signature hat. kool moe dee introduced the new style in the early 80s signifying an end to styles like "i said a hip-hop a hippie..." & "bawitdaba da dang da bang diggy diggy" and introduce more substance & subject matter, lyricism. ll was accused of copying OGs, like T-La rock (he also had a signature fisherman kangol hat) who was a brother to Moe Dees Treacherous Three partner, he felt he was being disrespectful, since biting was taboo back then. so they would go back and forth.
Kool Moe Dee 🕺🏾💃🏾🕺🏾💃🏾🕺🏾
Love this video. This should've been bigger than Wild Wild West. Cracks me up when he says, "what is this amateur night at the Apollo". Get off the stage I'm enraged!
Teddy Rowley producer and it was a LL Cool J diss
No hes coming at LL Cool J
Moe Dee and LL had a epic battle back in the late 80s
This was a diss to LL, he felt like LL was taking his style. This started one of my favorite battles in hip hop. They had some great back and forth disses towards each other. You should listen to Kool Moe Dee's "Let's Go". Great diss track.
MOE DEE LIT UP LL WITH "LET'S GO"
it's a diss song but it seems like another reality, i'll spit my verse you spit your's and let's see who's who as in who's better. who cares? right well back then we all cared but when they beefed it was really about the music it was competition and that's where they kept it. i'm not sure of when things changed because they did change and not for the better. it was suppose to be entertainment/escapism but someone or something decided to turn an art form into reality making it DEMEANING, DEMORALIZING, DEHUMANIZING, DISRESPECTFUL, DISTASTEFUL, DEMONIC while masquerading as just entertainment as they fill prisons with people that look just like me.
💯
Kool Mo Dee vs LL Cool J beef.
Nice reaction. This was a diss song to LL Cool J. He felt that Cool J was disrespecting the artists before him. Started a great series of battles. I remember playing this record as a kid. It was my second album (Run DMC was my first). Thanks for this
Right ☺✅
It so ironic that LL is chastising DJ Ackademics for the doing the same thing, he did years ago.
Life catches up with everyone.

@@cupcakes7015 huh? What has Akademiks contributed to the world of hip-hop? U really just compared a young MC to a radio gossip queen, didn't you?
@@theDavidChannel1
You don't understand what I said, obviously.
@@cupcakes7015 how is it the same thing? LL was bragging on his own skills and place in hip hop. That’s what emcees did. He never called the emcees before him broke and unsuccessful.
I’m not sure it ever “caught up” to him. LL continues to flourish.
@@kimberlypage5285
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. This is not that deep.
There are four samples in the song three James Brown songs : Papa’s got a brand new bag, Night train, talking loud and saying nothing parts one and two, The last sample is from auld hawkins Webster saxtet Called salt peanuts❤
Hahaha the days of diss records with nobody shooting each other MM yea buddy still rock this so called me old...lol good request 💯💯💯💯
Kool Moe Dee Is a Legend who Started out with his Ledgendary Rap Group The Trecherous 3 in the late 70s early 80s And Known for his Rap Battles in the mid late 80s with L.L.Cool J. How ya Like Me Now came out in 1987'' And was A diss song towards L.L.Cool J at the Time L.L Cool J Dissed Kool Moe Dee back with Jack The Ripper in 1988''! Lyrically Kool Moe Dee comes from the previous Era of Hip Hop Right Before Run Dmc And LL came out in 1984'' And changed the Game for The New School Of Hip Hop At that time!😎😎😎
Love Kool Moe Dee music ♥️ As others said, this is actually diss against LL Cool J. Kool Moe Dee gave him L - check out his best track "Let's go". He literally bodied LL and made fun of him 😅
I’m bigger and better, forget about deffer.LL Cool J had a album out called Bigger and Deffer .
This was my jam. LOVE this!!
I believe this was a Teddy Riley production
Produced by teddy riley
I saw Kool Moe Doe perform with Prince at Club Life in New York. That was the time.
After this song cool j released Jack the ripper, you should listen to moe Dee's next diss track "let's go", it's moe dee at his best
Hi JJ! I loved your reaction! Kool Moe Dee & LL Cool J used to have infamous dis track battles! The dance that he was doing was a smooth version of "The Penguin"! I know that U love "Soul Train" I'm almost 100 percent sure that U saw it on there! Great Request Double M! Peace!
He was dissing LL in this…they had serious beef back then
Now that's what I'm talking about
Kool Moe Dee invented battle rap
I m bigger and better, forget about deffer, was a reference to L.L. 's album titled "bigger and deffer" (B.A.D.) which featured
"I m bad" u gotta go through the whole series of L.L. vs kool moe dee. They battled from 1987 to 1992
He's talking specifically about LL Cool J... Kool Moe actually won this battle overall but the record label (Def Jam) controlled the pr media narrative in favor of LL Cool J. They both had some good songs in the battle but Kool Moe Dee's song: Let's Go, destroyed LL on wax.
LL won. KMD won the second round, then mama said knock him out!
@@HardCold-Alquan I disagree. Kool Moe Dee's song: Death Blow, was superior to all of LL's diss songs.
Jamming to the classics!! Listened to this every morning on my way to high school! Bringing back the memories :)
Kool Moe Dee was a founding member of the pioneering rap group TREACHEROUS THREE formed in the late 1970's. Check out their song FAST RAP from 1980.
