I know that every subnautica player had a chill run down their spine on day 6 when you see the reaper shadow behind him
Back when I was just a younger dude my dad had gotten subnautica and it was in its pre alpha or before that. I forget but it was when the terraformer still worked. I had gone to the aurora when it exploded and accidently went behind it with my seamoth and screamed terrifying screams becauseAAAAAAH reaper!!

I watch old game footage of my first playthrough and boy did I play stupid i went to the Aurora before making a seamoth (on my way back i met a reaper and screamed)
I'm so jealous. Subnautica is one of those amazing games you just wish you could experience for the first time again

@@Kav_himself plus it seems like he rushed tf outa the game. I kinda almost feel like he didn't even want to play the game. It just felt so fake throughout the video. Every moment of enthusiasm especially. His 100 days felt so anticlimactic compared to the end of Jacksepticeye's playthrough. All the emotion legit had me in tears, but that was the first time I had seen the game's full release

This man goes on his first playthrough and manages to do more in 38 days of playthrough than I did in 100 of my first playthrough lmao
It is pretty easy, though, when you google or have chat tell you resources locations and codes, which he did/had... I'm a little (very) disappointed about it...

Like you're supposed to race in a racing game, and fight in a fighting game.
Some people will have much more enjoyement finding stuff on their own, and others don't really care and google the solutions for everything.
In my case, I don't see the point of playing a game if you're not doing anything by yourself, but to each their own..

He is probably one of the best subnautica beginners to ever play the game
To be able to go to the lost river with all the equipment needed for it BEFORE the sunbeam even arrived is such a huge feat
I think it was mostly he didn’t have any fear. He went to the Dunes and Crash Site with no fear because he wasn’t aware of a reaper or ever saw one. Those places have tons of resources and fragments that get avoided due to Reapers. Also, Sunbeam appearing is entirely based on gameplay time, so all that means is he didn’t spend any time just swimming around and looking at stuff. He was practical and not hiding like I did.
@@moselzag5451 Incorrect, Sunbeam landing only happens after you receive the relevant radio messages. He got so much done first because he ignored the radio. You could beat the game over 1000 days without the sunbeam ever landing (there is an achievement for it). Most players just use the radio a lot early since it's clearly how you are meant to progress the story.
@@adavidavis2762 yes, but it also takes set amounts of time for you to receive each radio message. It’s listed on the wiki if you check, but it’s something like 6 hours in the Sunbeam messages appear and are updated every 20 or so minutes.
@@moselzag5451 Sure, but he didn't make it to the lost river in time due to that, he spent large parts of the early game ignoring the radio.
@@moselzag5451 It's theoretically possible to disable the gun before the Sunbeam, in which case they'll abort the landing due to the orbital debris field and you have to build the rocket anyways. I wish they'd let them land, it'd be an interesting and rare achievement for speedrunners and skilled players who know exactly what to do.
That line of "detecting multiple leviathan class creatures, are you sure what you're doing is worth it" is one of the best. I don't know anyone who didn't immediately go "nope" and turn right around

I was in mid game when that happend to me so i knew it was not a problem because i had a stasis rifle
That just happened to me and I'm a noob so I didn't know what a leviathan was so I continued not knowing I was completely screwed I now know to always turn around when I see that

No one ever tries to go to the dunes biome anymore, primarily because of the Reaper Leviathans that call that patch of water their home. But you went there on day nine!
The Dunes are my favorite, I get my prawn suit and go reaper hunting

@@RoboPlaysYT I built a research facility there for fun, just like I had in numerous hazardous biomes. A really cool thing to do in the pasttime :)
I've gone there on day 5 with nothing but a seaglide and a mighty need for silver ore. It was daring but I made it out alive despite being hunted the entire time. Reapers are susceptible to juke tactics.

he just didnt interact with radio enough you could do everything without the sunbeam landing (including beating the game i think) aslong as you dont touch your radio
@@danin1176 Maybe, but he did openly admit that he was looking things up. If he ignored the radio and was just using the internet as a guide to upgrade his tech, I can very easily see how this happened.
@@kaihiordie Fun fact you can cure yourself and disable the laser but the animation will still be triggered as if the laser is active. Also I miss the part that he had to deactivate the laser in order to leave as this is what all of this sequence is supposed to tell him.

I think it's better that he didn't know what a reaper was when he went to the Arora first.
I would rather he knew what a reaper was than look up the lost river before you are supposed to be there.

I love it.
This was definitely a good play-through as the other ones but it felt more like home and heart warming thank you for the play-through.
To make the game easier:
Scanner rooms + chip. So many people agonize over Stalker teeth and Scanners rooms completely trivialize the process. They are _always_ messing with salvage and losing teeth while you aren't around, so just run a scan with your hud chip in and go collect like 10 in a shot
Stalker teeth are actually really easy to find, with a little help from the scanner room. =)
they were not in any sense for me it took me nearly two hours to get enough for the prawn cause the scanner room kept showing my spots that didnt have any
@@wolfX-zk8dt well as an alterntive you can bring the stalker some wreck parts and wait for it to pick it up a few times. When you hear a cracking noise the stalker has dropped a tooth.
Two things, you never used the portals in the various areas that took ion cubes that teleported you to the other sections of the map. You found one on the island at the very beginning, didn't know what ion cubes were at the time, then left. They made it easier to go from area to area without having to drive/swim there. The other thing, is you can get stalker teeth by throwing scrap down near them, they bite it, and break a tooth.
Taking it easy and reading the lore bits (PDA's) makes the game more interesting. As a kid I used to not care and skip everything, but now I rarely skip bits that pertain to the storyline :)
I love watching people discover games that I already love. This video was so much fun!

15:10 about that neptune rocket blueprint. Once you grab it you cant play with your cuddlefish you can only say goodbye to it.
Cap I got a cuddle fish at the very end of the game to get the achievement
no, you can play with your cuddlefish still. its only once a certain stage of the rocket is built (i think stage 2)

I can't believe how little you got bothered by the sea dragon and reaper lucky. But subnautica is one of My favorite games of all time it's just gorgeous and sea mommy best. Fun fact a sequel came out a bit ago Subnautica below zero it's story is also amazing
it's so interesting to see how wildly the order that people do things in this game can go....my first playthrough I found the Mountain Island and beacon super early, before the Aurora even exploded and I didn't get a cyclops until super-late game, while Sy has done it almost completely the opposite. I love how its so non-linear you can do things at your own pace and play it literally in whatever order you want, no real push to do things in a linear, mission-based order
You should play below zero next, that would be fun to watch
The vastness and realism of the ocean exploration makes this game in my top 5 favorite games

Great video! Love the change of pace from Ark. I hope that I see more of these kinds of videos as you grow and expand, I think that at the moment it may not reach as high peaks as Ark. But I believe that in the long run, this will grow the channel out a lot. Keep up the great work!

I love this game so much, I'm currently on my 1st playthrough I never heard of this game I saw it on the eshop on my son's switch and was bored so decided to buy it and check it out and then I see it had just gotten the 2.0 quality of life download so I started at the perfect time. And yeah I have a hard time putting this game down it's even my son being like "hey dad how about you save and let me play my switch" haha. I think I need to get this on pc so that issue doesn't happen anymore

WOW! I normally don’t like gameplay vids with talking but yours I really enjoyed! I just started playing this game and love it though I think I have done some achievements backwards lol. You’re right; this game IS beautiful and is an incredibly fun game even with the warpers and other deep sea nasties. I think when I finish this I’ll probably move on to Below Zero and play it. Well done!

Bro, you're playing way too fast. The fun in this game is to take your time and enjoy it slowly. Scan everything, listen to the audio files, and find all the story points.
Before I played I would watch these religiously, now it feel like watching a new person play Minecraft. But I still like seeing everyone's individual experiences BC subnautica is different for everyone

This was such a fine discovery when the lockdown started along with Enter the Gungeon. With these two I understood and amazed crafting focused game and roguelike game can be extremely fun.
Things we've all done during our first playthrough :
Getting an inventory full of acid mushrooms without even knowing what it was
Being scared to go to the kelp forest just because of stalkers
Building foundations for every base
Thinking sandstone was extremely rare because you only went in safe shallows caves to try to find some
I love the fact that every new players first reaction is to pick up acid mushrooms lmao

Beating this game for the first time is sad and I would kill to be able to play subnautica for the first time again. Your very lucky to have this experience I truly have a special place for this game biggest tip is to play it again and explore a ton more I’ve played sub for 2 years and I still get goosebumps beating it
