Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 7th tier of English football, the Isthmian League Premier Division. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. In 2023 we won the Isthmian League North and will now play in the Isthmian Premier!
We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 3rd tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division, after they also won their league in 2023. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams, an inclusive team and a walking football team...plus our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. Matt Woolridge really is a metronome for this team, he links everything together so well no matter where he is on the pitch
Very good player. I think he'll be a big miss when he hangs it up. Feels like he could go up another step no problem.

That intro hit the field despite never properly meeting you I’m proud of everything you’ve done and happy we’ve seen it all along the way
Mish is so much more suited to lead the front line of this team. He’s far more dynamic and mobile. Leads a press with the others much more effectively. He makes a massive difference. Matty and Toby have been outstanding even with the poor start. This is definitely a kick on result, the energy was fantastic.
Far better and more mobile than Higgins who should be a last minute 'throw in the kitchen sink' sub
@@russellchan7700 definitely, Higgins takes too much away from the team. They’re a young team with loads of vibrancy. They can run teams into the ground and press, when they do that they look electric. Higgo may be great and his technique is brilliant for this level but he’s just not mobile enough to lead this front line.

Agreed. Went to school with Chris Darling (the ref) - who also reffed their Sudbury game 2 seasons ago - and proud of the job he did (not just as im a hashtag fan). Interesting fact but he also came 27th in this years London marathon. He seems to be a good omen (and doesn't even really know the Hashtag YT channel exists!)
Promote that referee to the prem. It's important to also acknowledge when they do a bloody good job! Big up for that refereeing team

Toby has been outstanding so far this season, he’s always been a great player but has always gone off with holidays and other stuff in his life which is fair enough. But it’s nice to see him playing every week doing what he’s good at

Just a comment after seeing the intro montage. What a guy Spen is, it truly is an incredible story. I started watching RUclips as a 10 year old in the wheel of fortune era, grew up watching the guy and he really has carried himself incredibly throughout the years being an exceptional role model. Can’t of been easy to always maintain such dignity & pretty much never get drawn into any negative antics, especially considering he himself would have been very young & growing up throughout the process too

Take the 1v1 & shoot. I hope he stays as a super sub until he hones that skill to be ruthlessly aggressive infront of goal - In my opinion one off the only factors that can hold him back.

I’ve seen this happen so many times. Teams expected to do well in the relegation zone after their first handful of games only to go on a run and go up automatically. It’s almost a sign of auto promotion when I see a team expected to compete at the top in the relegation zone.
Maybe this season is another example.
10:02 Your no 7 Hassan didn’t get the credit he deserved there. Not only did he start the move but he ran into a brick wall with everyone behind him and played a very clever ball just rolled left in front of the defender which Toby was running on to. Had he gone for any other option that move is most likely breaking down.
Sak did so well as a playmaker this game. Sometimes his finishing has left much to be desired but he was one of the most impactful players this game.

Finally playing with some urgency and control. Having Matty in the middle was so missed before
Spen, I can't get this side the way I played at that electric 2010/11 East Sturrock season. I brought the band back in, Gibbs, ol 'Higgo, The Fox in the Box... but it ain't working. I can't berate the lads like I used to, 2024 bollocks and all that. Spen, you know the score. Without investment, do you know how much these sides are paying compared to us? and we're in the limelight of the camera, bloody hell.

Wow, at last, looked like the team I thought # were before all those misses cost us in that frustrating season last year. That first half had me out of my seat, and those skills on display embarrass a lot of players in my championship team. They cant do what # do when it comes to close ball skills and killer through passes. A perfect revenge for Hastings away last year. With scoring boots on, I am looking forward to up the table and onwards. Watch out Dorking here we come. Nice intro too. Given everything you have done, you could be as 'cocky' as you like when putting down trolls who says You Tube team. Best show on that Platform. Hope to meet you when I can make it back to Blighty. And when I do, a # game will be my number one priority. .
