Lucky you: got the update version of the 1.000cc Boxer (1991 to 1996) which has muuuuuch better handling/roadholding and braking compared to its predecessors. You cannot imagine how bad and wobbly these were ... Just make sure the cylinders / carburators are properly synchronized.
Yeah I own an R60/6 from '75 (MY76) and an R100 RT from '92, so the RT is a Monolever. I was really surprised by the difference when I got the RT! I knew it would be mostly the same but better, but I never expected the handling and the brakes to be this much better than the 1970's models. I'm sort of considering to build an R100 RS Paralever at some point, which seems to be the ultimate boxer to me personally (with early RS heads and exhausts (and possibly carbs and cams?) to get 70hp), but I'm not sure yet that all the RS Monolever parts would fit on an R. Besides, I've never ridden a Paralever yet. Is it that much better even compared to the Monolever?
Respect, dude, for your nice honest bikeshop, your nice easygoing video and even for the accompanying relaxation music ! :-D What's the artist/composer/album of this music? It's like handpan music? Ah, and I did by an 1992 R100R yesterday. ;-)
Great review, many thanks! I've been looking at R65s R80/7s but will consider one of these too now.
Love the video, and all your information. You have a cool vibe, brother! I have a 1975 R75/6
