Thanks for all the comments everyone - this is the first video that I tried to narrate or dub over, so my bad that the music is too loud, i'll get some better headphones to mix the sound next video!
Sara B yes some are wondrous so some are that expensive I have one I saved for it was around $20. its one of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. so I saved for it and put it in the back of the shelf so no one would see it and buy it. so I got and and in amazing condition in a 10 gal.
I'm a qualified fish farmer and have been an aquarist for nearly 50 years. I managed a large aquatic store in the South West of England for some years and we were lucky enough to have a Scleropages. It had to be chipped to comply with CITES laws and cost us a fortune. Amazing animal, joy to behold.
Wow 5 gem tangs in a single tank. You probably won't see this but if you do I'd like to see a video on the one-off hybrids you mentioned at the beginning of this video
To have a reef tank is an expansive hobby it’s always nice to be different and to own a rare fish or coral 🪸 instead of common fish that you see in all tanks good video 🎥
Nice vid, dude. One suggestion, lower the volume of the music when you're talking. It's too hard to understand your voice at times, in particular when you start talking about the fishies.
The hawkfish reminds me of a freshwater pike. I enjoyed this video. I wish you told more about diet/husbandry. Maybe future videos could go more in depth?
Two questions for you. 1.) What kind of tang is swimming behind the Gem Tang? It’s splotches are so unique, I’ve never seen anything like it! 2.) This fish I was questioning made me think... is it possible to breed Tangs and create hybrids? Like for instance a Yellow Tang with a Gem Tang to create something in the middle of the two? (Just throwing out as an example :P)
Fish remind me of birds. Seeing them in aquariums reminds me of one time I was at a pet shop and I saw an angelfish who had a large flap of its skin separated from its body. It was floating underwater in one spot, and it was explained to me that it had ripped open its side by swimming against a rock, and it was in shock. I can't even keep a goldfish alive, so I'm decidedly not a person who should own fish, but seeing them in tanks always reminds me of that angelfish. I wish I could unsee it. They're so pretty!
Stoney Shibu repopulate a species most of the times is complicated also because not all animals can grow in captivity, try to preserve a species is way more easy to repopulate it
What are your recommendations for a reef tank with no fish going over $50 in price? It's a 75 gallon tank and as of right now I have a pair of classic clowns and an anemone and a bunch of basic corals on the way. What else do you recommend for tank mates? I'm looking for colorful, compatible, and iconic fish. I am inclined to order a cube boxfish.
I don't think the cube boxfish is a good choice for MOST tanks, unless you really know what you are doing. Some hardy affordable fish include royal gramma, firefish, many different species of gobies, some smaller species of damselfishes and cardinalfish.
hi everyone. just fyi, the last fish is named in asia the dragon fish. if you are looking to buy one of those in asia, depending on the size, price start at 40$ for small specimen (~10cm). the most expensive one i have seen cost 400$ (~70cm). it is an expenssive fish but not that expensive, at least in asia ^^. finally before buying one of those you must be really carefull as you cannot put other fish in the tank, except if you a massive one.
Thanks for this enlightening video. You have a very soothing voice. Funny, the most expensive one, (to me) is the Ugliest.!! but that's just me..! LOL.. ( My favorite, was the striking black and white sting rays.)
I love all these beautiful fish especially the fresh water sting ray I really appreciate the ocean and the life that lives in their on that note I am not one who believes in taking something out of its natural habitat unless it's a breed which is becoming extinct then I believe that it's good to step in and try to grow more and put them back to their original habitat so we can save our loved ocean and the beautiful creatures that not only balance it but take care of it each fish plant they all have a special place which is like a job that literally keeps our oceans alive and healthy I love them all and respect them for all they do THE WORLD CAN'T BE WITH OUT A WORKING OCEAN ❤❤
Good job, very interesting video am new to the hobby and a learning a lot , you most be marine biologist cause you mentioned all scientific name very easy for me is even hard to mention the easy ones. Keep it up
the ones you see at the pet shops are the mass bred low quality baby ones.high quietly adult goldfish can fetch quite a pretty penny especially if they are a rarer breed. but goldfish prices just can't compare to koi prices.
I tell you I'm upset there is no love for Triggerfish here 2 of the most expensive and I'd say most beautiful fish I've ever owned were a large male Crosshatch Triggerfish and a medium male Linespot Triggerfish.
Thanks for all the comments everyone - this is the first video that I tried to narrate or dub over, so my bad that the music is too loud, i'll get some better headphones to mix the sound next video!

Reef Builders let me ask...people buy these fish...if yes who?!?
Man these are all expensive. I saw a beta in a petstore for $20 and thought that was a bit much.
I got mine for like 50 cents what the heck man?!
I bought the $4 one myself that's the cheapest by me, but the $20 must have been a special breed or something. Still special or not it's ridiculous.
Sara B yes some are wondrous so some are that expensive I have one I saved for it was around $20. its one of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. so I saved for it and put it in the back of the shelf so no one would see it and buy it. so I got and and in amazing condition in a 10 gal.
Sara mine is 3$
colly407 depends on the breed of beta.

Duuuude! this channel is soooo underrated!

All fish are one of a kind.
The hawkfish reminds me of a freshwater pike. I enjoyed this video. I wish you told more about diet/husbandry. Maybe future videos could go more in depth?
Rachel O'leary i wish he did more freshwater fish in the vid
White alligator gar seems like an expensive fish as well
The platinum gar,
no where near as much as a platinum arowana, and high quality kois tho
Dash nope not really
I watched the vid using a droid turbo and the back track didn't seem too loud. great vid too. all the fish were beautiful.
I really like what your doing with the channel.
MileHighReefers Sekperiod like
MileHighReefers I
fishes are beautiful
Seen a lot of expensive fish countdowns, and this is by far the best. Great job.
Two questions for you. 1.) What kind of tang is swimming behind the Gem Tang? It’s splotches are so unique, I’ve never seen anything like it! 2.) I've got 10 of that BLACK DIAMOND STINGRAYS. It is absolutely beautiful creatures
Great work Jake, I love this channel! Finally got my hand wet again thanks to people like you and videos like this!
Really enjoyed the selection.I had a 125 gl saltwater fish and coral for 7 years it's easy to see how some of these fish can be quite expensive
The video is interesting and well-filmed and your voice is pleasant- you don't need music at all.
I can't even keep a goldfish alive so no way would I ever buy any of these pretty fish 😁😁🐡🐡🐠🐠🐟🐟🐙🐙
Cathy Samata do you keep it in a bowl?
How tf do you do that?? I could keep a goldfish in my toilet
Something tells me that I wondered too far in RUclips today and I need to stop before I get trapped forever. 😄😅😂😆😃
Great, now RUclips is advertising a 18,000$ Betta fish to me
I have enjoyed these films. I ,at one time had 5 aquariums going Will be back often to see more. Thank you for your great films!!
Koi carps should definitely have been added on the list!
asniovaldo severino The more expensive koi would be a bit of a pain to fit in an aquarium.
Albino toad fish was $9000 in my local pet store
Dennis Sherpa I googled it and it just showed an albino toad
Nice, a one time thing to see
Great video! All the fishes on this list is absolutely beeeautiffulll! Thank you so much.
I have a red and yellow arowana it also expensive too it 300000$ dollars so I'm happy with it and I'm very lucky to have it
Wow, that Feminist Wrasse has no value in the Philippine fish market... I wonder how much I can make smuggling some to the States!
Can you do a list like this for fresh water?
Great background music, had my attention !
Quick question..,what is the music that is playing?
Anyone knows the name of the blue and yellow coral behind the wrasse at 1:52? Looks like an anemone.
Great vid by the way.

Thank you for this video and info. They are all very interesting and lovely. I learned much . Great job!
thanks for sharing good video!
I bought a Mermaid for $110,000.
That's nice. However, I think you over-paid...
M Chow someone to suck the living god within you when you're having a quick dip in the pool? that's probably cheap.
Nice 👌🏻
Mermaids don't exist soo your lying.🤨
Melvin Cabrera r/wooosh
Great video. Thanks for making it up
1000$ for a small fish??hell naw!!
Can someone tell me the name of the fish at 9:32 (it's the yellow one)
Super expensive probably means super rare which means you should probably leave them in the Ocean.
Jeff K Not necessarily. Some fish are just hard to catch, not really rare. Also, some fish are just beautiful, supply and demand win out.
So I gather that people dying to get one of those expensive fish is not as bad as getting a fish that is rare and therfor expensive. Wow.
Jeff K especially deep reef fishes.
Jeff K because fuck science. its impossible to repopulate a species.
Stoney Shibu repopulate a species most of the times is complicated also because not all animals can grow in captivity, try to preserve a species is way more easy to repopulate it
Very cool I wish I could get into the hobby again
Live in Michigan, large reef tank, how do we get a line on these fish?

Koi is a expensive fish too. Nice video 😄👍🐟
Hi I'm Jake Adams too, thanks for the fish video.

Those are some awesome fish!
Thankyou! Just learned some good stuff. I didn't here how much those beautiful masked white angelfish were tho. Did I just miss it?😯🐠🐾😍
Right, so the candy bass loves deep water and then ends up in a 20 inch deep tank? That’s great!
Great video 👍

Keep up the good work!!!
Wow, that stingray is crazy
thank you
How I will get this fish from Bangladesh.Plz.reply
dude you're amazing i love this!
What about the peppermint angel?
I didn't mention it for two reasons: 1, it's not regularly available and 2, I don't have any good original footage of it ;-p
An updated list?
Good to know. Thanks.
LOVED ALL YOUR PICS AND INFORMATION , BUT YOU FORGOT TO TELL US THE PRICE OF THE MASKED ANGEL FISH .?
I WAS WRITING DOWN YOUR INFO , THANK YOU BUNCHES
I've been told I need to go check out Stone Aquatics for some of their unique fish even though I just have a freshwater tank
What about the platinum arowana?
What song is this? I like it.
The Japanese Dragon Moray (Enchelycore pardalis) usually exceeds $1200. Easily makes this list.
Everything is AWESOME! 😆
Beautiful film...
why no price on masked anglefish
awesome video, but that music was killing me! I was honestly cussing at my f****** phone because it was pissing me off
I’ve seen the clarion angelfish in the ocean before!!! I followed it but it went behind a rock and didn’t get to see it again
Good job, very interesting video am new to the hobby and a learning a lot , you most be marine biologist cause you mentioned all scientific name very easy for me is even hard to mention the easy ones. Keep it up
How good do they taste though?
the king of diy has many of these fish including the #1
love the video. . But the music gave me a headache and was louder then your voice!
What about shubunkin goldfish? They can be quite pricey.
curt lol it cost me 20 pesos on that
if you have one dollar you can have three shubunkin
the ones you see at the pet shops are the mass bred low quality baby ones.high quietly adult goldfish can fetch quite a pretty penny especially if they are a rarer breed.
but goldfish prices just can't compare to koi prices.
Brianna Harter I've seen some shubunkins change hands for £10!
very good clip but you could have lowered the music cause in some moments we cant hear you. a good advice for next times video^^
Are these all salt water ?
no some like the black diamond rays are fresh. so are asian arrowana
Does anyone know what this music is called?
annoying
I agree with the previous commenter
I tell you I'm upset there is no love for Triggerfish here 2 of the most expensive and I'd say most beautiful fish I've ever owned were a large male Crosshatch Triggerfish and a medium male Linespot Triggerfish.
why did the 1 black diamond stingray had a pink Barb?
cool music...goes great with a j
do you know what the song is called?
it's nice explained video but no need for the music it's annoying
KAMO O the music was great

That music was fucking lit!
Why i think about smoking when i see/hear this :)
I would have thought a Leafy Sea Dragon would be in this list.
