In an indigenous village in the Ecuadorean Oriente

We had already been in Ecuador for more than a year, and still had not seen the Amazon region. We longed to explore this dark forest heart of the continent. To find a place to stay, I went ahead. In Misahuallí, I met a young man from a Kichwa village nearby that can only be reached by boat. They have a wooden hut for rent where we stayed for two months. Then we went on downstream.
