Great tips about the horsetail and the two ways the pipe can be attached. I didn’t realise how it could all affect the how the pump works. Everyday is a school day!
Great video Mark. So glad you picked up on, and explained the importance of hose size, and cutting of hosetails. The difference it makes between a feature or filtration working properly is not always realised.
Thank you Mark. Just had me water feature kit arrive. polished slate bowl, 60cm sump tank, eco fountain Jebao 6008 pump(mains power) with light and a few other bits, but no instructions. Couldnt find video specific to the 6008 model; but I think I can muddle through following your video so thanks again
How would you setup a pump with filter then into one of these? Just a hose from the filters outlet into there? Or will that reduce the suction? Sorry if its a dumb question im new and planning my first pond
Hi Marc, Great video Pls advise have jebao AMP-6500 Just for waterfall with 38mm Pipe, not pumping water, cleaned impeller which turns but not pumping water check all pipework no blockage, is my pump had it had it thanks
Very handy video! I have a Blagdon amphibious IQ pump that I’m going to use for a waterfall feature into a very large pond. No filtration planned as I’m not keeping fish. What are the respective merits of putting the pump in the pond vs keeping it on dry land? I’m guessing that there’ll be no pump noise if it’s in the pond, but maintenance and removing it for the winter would be easier if it’s kept dry. Any advice much appreciated, thanks!
great video, I am installing an 8000 lph pump to an auto spinclean 1200 filter system above the pond (sunk in the ground) and then wanted the outlet to then feed to a small waterfall about 0.5m above (1 m wide). You recommended a 38mm suction hose from the pump which I understood to help maximise flow. Should I also continue to use 38mm hose from the filter system outlet to the waterfall? I assume it is good to keep the diameters the same. Obviously the filter system is pressurised so assume I get very little pressure loss. Thanks,
Hi Mark, thanks for another great video. Can you clarify that I understonnd it correctly, that a 38mm (1.5") can only handle a maximum flow rate of 10,000LPH? If I needed more flow at the waterfall would I need to upgrade the size of the pipework? Thanks
Thanks Mark for a neat little demo on pump install. Is that Mexican feathergrass growing on the background mound in the first half? Is it weedy? Cheers
@@ThePondAdvisor It's a new build garden, so roughly 12x10 + 3x3 behind garage. Don't think we have enough space to have that amount of elevation and drop without taking a substantial amount of space away from the garden for my 3 year old to play in. Do you have an email I could send some photos? Maybe easier to show you and if you have any photos of things that are similar perhaps? So difficult with a blank new build garden to work out what to do with what :)
Hi all I purchased a blagdon 1200 pond pump had it 2week and has worked fine however as of today it’s become intermittent it turn on for 1min then off for 2min I also have a blagdon amphibious iq that run on the same power feed. This runs completely fine through filter box and waterfall I’m a little baffled any help appreciated Cheers
No mention of solar energy, disappointing when only needing to raise 200L per hour less than a metre 'head'. Partial dyslexicia makes this puzzling so was hoping for advice in gallons or litres for pump size? Good luck with your business tho.

It’s amazing how many people don’t understand friction and head pressure

Thank you. As you know it’s so important could be the different of half the flow rate
Thank you Mark, some great information and help for a waterfall, found that i had my pumps all wrong, and now will reset them 👌👌
You will be amazed how many people have them set up wrong.

What made you pick that kit?
Oh Mark I wish you could help Mapperton with that/those 18 century pool in the garden, they really need to live the Aquascape Lifestyle!
Yes they do
Excellent video Mark!
Thanks
Hi, thanks for your video. What pump I need for a 45cm waterfall blade installed at 40cm height on top of water level. Thank you again

No idea, might be electrical issue or the pump has gone bad. I have not used this brand.

Pond pumps in a pond are harder to maintain than if they are in a skimmer. External pump cost a lot more to run and are noisy.
Great, many thanks!
Hello , thanks for the information. So I want to know the type of pump I can use for water streams of 70meters long
I would use a SLD 5-9 depending how wide you want the stream

Correct
Can you make an equipment list/ recommended suppliers and providers for UK. I want a pond less waterfall but unsure of equipment suppliers

Very educational, nice work.

That is correct, if its a high pressure pump you might get more water but its always better to have the right size pipe
@@ThePondAdvisor Thank you for confirming

Thank you, Yes 👍🏻 we love it
Good info.
Thanks
Great video! I may have missed it, but what’s the head height of this system?
3m
❤ Thank you Sir❤🎉
Hi mark where do you get spill away box from cheers shaun

Is there any waterfalls that are curved? We have a 6 -8foot wide curved red brick wall (curved inwards towards the garden)
I would create your own using rocks and gravel.

So is the hose you use the 1.5" Aquascape kink- free hose or flexible PVC hose ?
On this application it’s similar to the kink free
