- Of the 1162 U Boats launched during World War 2, over two thirds would be lost due to enemy action.
A small number endured, surviving time and again, against all odds.
One of the most infamous being, the type VIIC model designated U-333...
Good stuff as always!
Another great story. Thank you for enlightening me again.
Love the history lessons I learn here. Thank you

Wow the whole story is impressive, beginning to end!!! Quite a shocking run for the u333!!! Almost unbelievable!!!
Really well done again Simon.
🙏🏻

Thank-you for your support and kind words. 👊🏻
Well, that was, as you say, was a very good example of the rise & fall of the U Boat. Although this one had a bit more fall than rise! 😮 Interesting to hear how Kramer finished his war.
Great research as always Simon. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cremer, you mean.
@@michaelandreipalon359 ooops, my bad! 😬

Interesting story. Shows that Capt. Kramer was not only good, but a good luck charm. Unlike the apparently Jonah like Capt Fadler.
Great jacket
Must be rough, one of the sub's first kills being a friendly fire.
What are the odds that a sub like U-333 would encounter a captured U-Boat reused by the enemy? (Also neat to see a sequel to a previous Unclassified Encounter real life trivia tale.)
Fair amount of Allied aircraft shot down during its hunts, I see.
In XCOM speak, this was one interesting Ironman run.
The Admirals U Boats is a great novel.. It talks alot about this incident, the sub and its captain....
OOPS, I meant " The admirals wolf pack".....
❤
Whoops! That was a hiccup! Sinking a German Cargo Ship! Hmm! Kramer was lucky!
Jesus... Kramer has some bollocks. taking on a destroyer on the surface? ffffffff...
I’m sure it was U333 took a bearing submerged off the wrong landmark and ended up, up the Solent! After establishing their correct position they made a hasty retreat.
