Great tutorial, I am going to order a cable too, but it will take 2 weeks to come, can you please let me know if it can be set the maximum amp/volt or watt limit for PV ? I want to connect the mppt to my car when I am on the road, but I do not want to get more then 300-400w instead of the 520w for the 12v setup .... Can those parameters for PV input to be changed ? Thank you in advance ......
Also I don't think the alternator would make the minimum voltage required. 20% above your battery voltage is ideal for a MPPT charge controller. Look for a DC to DC charger. Renagy and victron sell them.
@@rollinronin8125 if you find away let me know. The only way I can think of is if you had multiple ethernet ports for each controller or plug in a single unit at a time to monitor.
Peak power is just an estimate of the total amount you will be producing from solar. Really these numbers mean nothing to the charge controller. Just stay within the maximum parameters of the unit and you'll be good 👍
I'm guessing your looking at the amps? For energy you always want to look at the watts. Forget about amps and amp hours watts and watt hours is how to understand power. There is low amps on the PV side because the voltage is higher. The amps are higher on the battery side because the charge controller converted it.
My station was working correctly, now it won't let me make adjustments to the voltage axes, it tells me that it doesn't exist or is not configured, I delete the station and create another one and it still tells me the same thing, is there a way to reset it to factory settings?
Nice video. Can I use the windows software on a laptop to programme up to 5 different units of EPEVER Tracer 10415AN charge controller for Lithium ion battery (LiFePO4)?
Thanks so much for your reply. I plan to try programming the charge controllers with an MT50 by this weekend. I have tried to programme them with the windows software but the solar station software can not dictate/read any of the charge controller. I don't know if it's an aftermarket cable problem like you mentioned in the video. The Battery brand is Felicity Solar (A Chinese brand).
@@chuksfrank4975 I'm sure it's the cable. Also don't forget to check that the RS-485 is selected. Thank you for the battery name I'll see if they can send me a batter for review 👍😁 good luck let me know if it works
Do you know how well the Bluetooth connection on Android works. The reviews on Amazon for the Bluetooth adapter are terrible. They say the software doesn't work well. Just wondering what your experience was? I have a Epever Tracer 20 Amp model and there are no settings for Lifepo4 batteries on the controller. It has to be set externally with an adapter or cable. Would like to go with Bluetooth if it works properly.
@@mickeybrumfield764 It has been a year since I've used it but when I did I never had an issue. Maybe they ordered the wifi one and not the Bluetooth one 🤷
If you are using LiFePO4 batteries, Chick and write down the settings for the 12V LiFePO4 battery, then go to the user setting and double all the values.
I've tried the WiFi box and the USB cord with no luck. The cord will sometimes work for a minute or two but then it stops working saying it's timed out. EPEVER will not respond to my pleas for assistance. It's frustrating to say the least.
Video is good, some parts were blurry, some moved too quick but compared to the chinese one, I could at least understand this. The charge controller is not the best due to the complexity of getting it to work. You need to buy all the cords, extra stuff and more extra stuff, you need to have internet, you need to download apps and all this makes it very complicated. I don't have wifi out at the end of my driveway so I had to hot spot my phone, my computer battery, made in china, also did not last long enough to watch both whole videos. This has been the worst purchase I have made and I definitely regret it. Almost every video is 12V and none are 48V which is all I would get as I am using appliances and need power for tools, fridge and the like. I also am using Li-NCM due to high humidity in FL. I need to have high heat settings not low temp settings. This was not explained so the video is not going to cut it for everyone just northerners using 12 volt.
I hear ya buddy. All the 12v settings you can scale up by x4. The high heat settings are in the same page as the low temp settings easy to find. Good luck with your projects 👍 The wife wants to move to FL if things continue on the same path in Canada. 🍻

I would not recommend connecting the PV port to your alternator. They do not reference this in the manual.

That was helpful thank you. I have 2 epever solar charge controllers. How do monitor both at the same time?
Your welcome. You'd have to have 2 computers for each
I have 3 controllers and wonder if the software is set up for multi controller monitoring.
Adam Welch on youtube does a lot of epeveri stuff. Fyi.

Can I hook up 24 volt panels and set controller for 12 volt output for my battery?
There is no such thing as a 24V panel. You can hook up to 92 VOC. To charge a 12 or 24-volt battery
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!
@@01581Cody I should make more videos in this area to try and help people out
So pretty much the VOC is what I have to keep an eye on when purchasing solar panels for my 100 V controller, correct?
@@01581Cody yes if you run your panels in series. Amps if you run them in parallel
Sir, How come power output to battery is bigger than input power from solar?

Hi
I have tracer Bpl 2606 and 3906
How can I set the charging current from PV or DC input.
I'm not sure that you can set that. Next time I'm playing with my EPever I'll check it out. 👍
Is online configuation available for all epever tracer charge controllers?
No not all, Youll have to look at the details of what you want to buy.
