it still looks cute. you can take advantage it to create organic spotted patterns for you beautiful designs. There is a stray dog I come across and he has that kind of spots. it's so pretty.
While I agree, it would mean that every mug would be unique. That means she wouldn’t be able to take one picture of what the mug looks like and upload that to the shop, she would have to have a different shop listing for literally every mug she makes, even if they’re the same design, to account for the individual markings. Sure, she could label it and add “all mugs are unique, the mug pictured will differ from the one you receive,” but I guarantee you there will be some idiot who doesn't read it and then blames her for their misplaced expectations, and she'll end up with either bad reviews or lost profits from refunds / sending a new mug with the design they wanted. She would have to be really strict with her purchase policies for something like that to work.
@@ellespoonies that's true and that's the beauty of handmade products, in time and age of industries mass producing with cheap labour people appreciate handcrafted items because it's real art and people who buy it normally know this about handmade objects. People look for happy accidents, and her work is one even more when it has the tiny little random spots.
I was told at uni that leaving combustible stuff on your work also isn't good for the health of the kiln long term as it can cause build up on the elements. We were always made to remove any paper stuffing inside of work for example
It's a good rule of habit to follow since it can create smoke and ash. As long as it's organic material like paper it would be ok, but I would not burn vinyl
I've had a piece that came out of the kiln with dirty ash marks, when I was at college, because someone left a lot of newspaper from their forma in their piece 😣
Omg I live the splatter looks natural and so cute, I like it more then just clean❤❤❤ gives it this handmade by an Artiste look very nice. I also saw that you can use wax instead and it just melts away and gives it a clean look. Wouldn't that be easier, less work 😊
Aaaawww...!! That looks SO cute!! I love a clean outline, and I love that little splattered look, too. It looks organic and cutesy. No bad options here >3
i actually love that mix of a clearly created and a more organic look come together! it makes them seem more individual and special but still distinctly your designs. as a costumer that’s my fave balance to find :)
Sometimes we need to make accidents or to forget in order to find new things for instance splotches on a dog would be very cute. My childhood dog had splotches of color on her fur with several large patches of the same color. She died in my junior year of high school, and I still cry when I think of her. Besides, when mammals get older they would slowly develop gray or white hair. But my point is that cup still looks really pretty, and the “imperfections” suit a designs like that perfectly. Like Bob Ross once said, “there are no mistakes only happy accidents.”
The look it gives is kinda stylized, you should try doing some that way on purpose and see if it's a dependably aesthetic method (this is written assuming you make them to sell and not just making them for yourself)
I can see ups and downs for both! Leaving the paper on does create a spotted look and has less solid lines but it gives it a good homey cozy feel which fits the blue mug very well Taking it off and doing touch-ups leaves it with a nice smooth professional look that fits other designs more like the dragon one you were making in the video
I honestly quite like the speckles 🖤 Should make more intentional pieces with the speckles! Rise and shine mug with speckled Robin eggs would be soo cute!
I think not removing the decal might be a nice idea for a bit of added texture for specific pieces! The wolf specifically looks rlly cool and textured like that
the splotches read as hair! i understand why you want the clean look for some designs but i think you could definitely use the splotches to your advantage for some interesting texture!
Would love to get some of those leaping/standing wolves but even the preorder is sold out. So happy for you!! Will keep an eye on the next available batch of creativity from your business ❤
Ngl…that looks soooo cool!! It really gives it an organic textured kinda impression! I could see it working on certain decals better than others
Yeah I kinda like it better tbh
Gives a great fur pattern, totally a win.
Yeah I think i prefer it like that! Without the decal removed!
it still looks cute. you can take advantage it to create organic spotted patterns for you beautiful designs.
There is a stray dog I come across and he has that kind of spots. it's so pretty.
I was thinking the same thing...the doggo mug was cute with the spots
I agree, on the blue mug it made the wolf look like it was fluffy

I Love it
I actually like it with the spotting… it adds texture, a “vintage” look and a bit of contrast. It ties all the colors together really well.
There’s a reason why that’s been standard practice
Same
@@goldenerkeseyeah makes it very cool
Not removing the decal kind of does leave a cute aesthetic but I can see how that would be undesirable to some people
I like the wolf with spots. I feel like you could make unique sets with that method.
Agree
Yeah I definitely get why she prefers the cleaner look but the spots are also pretty cool

This makes sense to me
That makes sense, ash can clog all sorts of small orifices, and I don't know if pottery kilns are all designed to make those easy to clean...
I've had a piece that came out of the kiln with dirty ash marks, when I was at college, because someone left a lot of newspaper from their forma in their piece 😣
It’s still a really cute aesthetic, honestly! Adds some subtle textures that are kinda fun!
It's honestly still cute! But I get it's harder to control and sometimes the splotching could come out not as nice
Are you KIDDING ME?! The fox mug looks absolutely adorable and I love the personality that the spots add, absolutely gorgeous!
That still looks beautiful!
I think spotty wolf looks cute! It might not work for all designs, but for some, definitely works
Omg I live the splatter looks natural and so cute, I like it more then just clean❤❤❤ gives it this handmade by an Artiste look very nice. I also saw that you can use wax instead and it just melts away and gives it a clean look. Wouldn't that be easier, less work 😊

The wolfs blue splotches make it look fluffy 🥹
I love the splotches! Super cute texture
Honestly I kind of love the more handmade vibe with the splotches. Is that wolf mug for sale?
For the wolf it work really well with keeping the decall. The spots are very cute! 😊
Looks more artsy with the splotches, i like it
That kinda ads a special cozy feeling to it, you could actually sell these mugs as another design, people would definitely love them as much
sort of a hand printing effect , really like it
I like it with the spots. Very rustic
OH, i thought that was the correct version !! i really like the texture of it :-)
The one with the splotches looks so cute it makes them unique
I actually love it honestly.
I like it with the spots too! ❤
The dog mug at the end tho, it just brings me so much joy, i love it
I love the splotches on the wolf ❤
Honestly, if i saw the second mug in an online shop, i would buy it. It looks more rustic and i love it!
I really like the wolf one actually, it looks really good!
The splotches are so pretty! Both is good
i actually love that mix of a clearly created and a more organic look come together! it makes them seem more individual and special but still distinctly your designs. as a costumer that’s my fave balance to find :)
I love the splotches ngl

I actually like those splotches!

I like the spots on the wolf!
it looks so much better with the cute splotches
I actually fw that, i love feeling little bumps on designs when im holding things
You should do a Dalmatian and leave the decal on. Perfect spots!
I like the spotty look i think it could be a good touch in a lot of situations but i understand wanting a clean look
It kind of gives a cute fur pattern for the wolf.
Wouldnt discount it as something to never do for your projects
i love the splotches
Honestly that wolf is literally so cute.
I love the splotches! Makes her look floofy and real!
honestly the wolf mug looks stunning!!!!
Maybe it doesn't look as good in person as it does on video? Because the splotches on the wolf mug are soooo charming 🥰
I love the aesthetic! It may not be for all designs, but it totally suited the dog. Lovely work ❤️
That wolf looks adorable! And the speckling gives it so much texture~
I like the splotches. It adds more character. Gives a retro vibe.
I really like the texture of that I feel like it could really work for a bunch of designs!
Depending on the project it looks kinda cool! Definitely not a practice for every item, but it makes unique subtle spot patterns that I like!
You could make both. The smudges look so cute honestly
I like the splotchy look, it looks more textured and makes the mug slightly more visually interesting.
I can see ups and downs for both!
Leaving the paper on does create a spotted look and has less solid lines but it gives it a good homey cozy feel which fits the blue mug very well

That one was actually beautiful. The splotches seem to add texture to the wolf's fur. I like it.
If theres custom orders
Can we ask you do leave it on, cause the textures do look nice for some people!
I like to spotted wolf, it creates a unique visual texture
that actually looks really cool w that design
I actually really like that. That looks super cute!
i appreciate it you taking the extra time to peel off the decals, looks much better❤️
I honestly quite like the speckles 🖤
Should make more intentional pieces with the speckles! Rise and shine mug with speckled Robin eggs would be soo cute!
I really liked the mug with the spots. It looks cute
I think not removing the decal might be a nice idea for a bit of added texture for specific pieces! The wolf specifically looks rlly cool and textured like that
no the spots look great! both are wonderful
I genuinely think that the little speckles look better
wow i love the speckled look so much more, to each their own but wow please utilize that trick for a project or two, looks stunning on that dog
I kind of love the blue speckling on the wolf, creates depth and texture
The splotches in the wolf look SO CUTE! YOU SHOULD DO THAT MORE OFTEN
I’d love to buy that one as an oopsie mug!! It’s so cute 🥰
Both of those mugs are Adorable!!! 😻
I actually love the little spots! It’s like textured fur :) it adds to the charm
I like that wolf mug, if you made it like that intentionally I wouldn't be mad if I got it
I feel like it looks more rustic looking, it's cute!!
the splotches read as hair! i understand why you want the clean look for some designs but i think you could definitely use the splotches to your advantage for some interesting texture!
I feel like the splotches gives it a cute look, depending on what style you're going for!
I can see designs where that would be really cool!
I honestly like the second one a little bit more, you should sell both versions!❤
Honestly I find the dots look really cool
I honestly love it; the way it looks gives a home made feel like something you would see at grandmas house.
I like the blue spotches!! I think both results are nice :)
Me personally, i like that style of mug so much! The spots break the sharpness of the outline just right. Would love to be able to get one like that.
I really like the look of the one with the decal left on, it reminds me of childrens cartoon bowls we had as kids in the 90s
I think you should make one with the splotches. I think the splotches are pretty cool.
I kinda like it like that. Maybe do a range of ones you've done that way on purpose, some people may like it
Tbh, do both, I love the one that got left on!
Snowy/windy images will look amazing like that!
It actually looks great with the wolf!❤
Honestly I love the spotted look of the wolf mug. Maybe you could do some of each? 😊
I love the one you used as an example why you don’t!
Honestly the blue solatches look really cool, looks intentional and like its own art style
Would love to get some of those leaping/standing wolves but even the preorder is sold out. So happy for you!! Will keep an eye on the next available batch of creativity from your business ❤
i think for those who like the more rustic looking design (me) the splotchy one is GORGEOUS!!!
