FILM DESCRIPTION:
Former sportswriter Andy Farmer (Chevy Chase) and his secretly aspiring author wife, Elizabeth (Madolyn Smith), move to a small farm in Vermont so Andy can focus on writing a novel. They quickly realize that the locals are not as welcoming as they'd like and that the farm is more distracting than inspiring. Having trouble with his manuscript, and with his marriage on the rocks, Andy is forced to take hilariously drastic measures in an attempt to get his life back on track.

I like Andy's expression @ 2:54, all like, "Oh, well, THAT'S NICE!" (at hearing that his namesake gets run over in the first book and thus does not make it into the second book.)

You know, it IS kind of like that Andy takes revenge on his wife for MULTIPLE THINGS(having the PURE NERVE to come right out and tell him his anniversary gift to her STUNK, having the squirrel named for him get run over so as not to make it into her second book, etc.), by turning alcoholic on her and above all, purposely sending HER book and not his to get published in HIS honor, thus finally leading to the ugly meltdown between them that causes them (almost)to get a divorce.
The real scene that was made but not shown, Andy waited for his wife after she had a shower, and then grabbed her by the hair, threw her down on the couch and fondled her to her delight. After that they read together and smoked a cigarette.
"So tell me, these squirrels, do they have adventures and stuff?"
