    is it safe/ Is it cause any hard to the HDD?
    My friend say that if you pull of a HDD from that Tray when the PC still running, It will cause the harm to that HDD.

    the drive connector in this looks like it may work with SAS drives. can you confirm if this is possible?

    • @3D_Printing
      @3D_Printing  2 года назад

      On this one it is SATA, not SAS but I think you can get that type or may be a convertor

    Have you ever tried to put or remove the disk with the tray switched on?

    • @3D_Printing
      @3D_Printing  6 лет назад +6

      No that could cause hard drive damage, it could be spinning and crash the heads.

      you turn off the drive first before you pull the hd

    Does it need to be turned on each time you want to use it? Or does it turn on when the PC boots? I want to have two of these installed.

    • @3D_Printing

      It acts like a normal Hard Drive once turned on BUT not hot plug-able so far as I know, Do not plug in or take out a hard drive while on, only while off . If plugging in on Boot up it should be reconsidered as normal hard drive, if switched on NOTE: not tried by me.

      @@3D_Printing Rally???!!! The whole idea of a hot swap device is being able to insert/remove a HDD WHILE the PC is powered on. In effect, the HDD becomes the equivalent of a massive floppy disk drive if you can remember what one of those was). The only real problem I've come across is Windows 10 (God bless its stinking heart!) does not support hot swap. Everything I've read indicates Windows 10 will only recognise the HDD inserted is to power off/on.

    don't know it I need to install anything or not. But the PC doesn't receive the HDD bay.
    The light still there, but nothing happened.

      sorry for the delay: Once on my computer I had I had to boot into the UEFI, (BIOS) then select Advanced Storage look for SATA 3rd part, then Turn this Off then Turn it back On. Place a Hard Drive into the bay and make sure it is turned on. Reboot then go back in to the UEFI and look for this Plugged in drive and select Hot Swap for this drive, reboot again. Some issue with my UEFI; the drive would not show fully in the UEFI till I did this

    Nice video. Just bought one. I did not work right away with my 3TB HD, so I rebooted my PC while it was on (led lighted up). Then it did work.
    I just did not pull the HD out yet because I found it too heavy and I am scared to break it. Does anyone had a similar problem?

      yes this model is way to stubborn to use with the door and arm indeed you probably brake it after 10 times it's better to use this one as a fixed permanent drive holder and no swapping Orico or that manufacturer of this model made a cheap copy of that push arm part i think from similar other models that seem to have a better arm pushing from behind at least it looks that way if i look at some other brands that look almost the same The problem is you also dont want it to easy the sata port must make good contact etc but this does not work for me it also gives too sudden jerks on the fragile drive removing it this hard way
