Will see her in New Philly. Thanks Jason and crew for all your hard and dedicated hours you have put in to bring this beautiful Lady back in the sky. Outstanding!! Yes my eyes were also watering.
Bravo for the realization of this video and thank you to the enthusiasts to maintain alive the tradition of these old planes which still make us dream!
What a beauty and the nose art ain't too shabby either. My uncle flew "The Hump" in one back in the day. The video is so nicely done...thanks for sharing.
WOW!!!!WOW!!!!WOW!!!! Never thought seeing her lift off could top leaving Beach City but you did!!! Tears and Cheers and can’t wait to see her and her crew soon. Safe travels!!!
I am glad seen a old aircraft returning to the sky and I am not leaking my eyes out it’s just dust coming from my eyes seeing such a marvelous aircraft returning to the sky.
I loved the video just as much as I loved seeing this plane. It's nice to get a quick overview of its restoration and the people who made it happen. Prior to seeing this I watch a video of a vintage plane making its last flight and the entire video was of the two tight enginesB O-RING!!!! A great job all around and I hope you all get nany years of flight time for all your hard work.
Glad you liked it! I tried my best to bring the first flight experience to everyone! Stay turned there is a lot more Beach City Baby content on its way from this air show season!
For the longest time my wife and I would cruise past her on Ohio route 212 on my motorcycle, just parked there, outside & exposed to those terrible NE Ohio elements. And I would think, "What a shame! She could be fixed up, made pretty again, maybe even FLY again!" And here she is, in all her glory, UNBELIEVABLE!
We had an absolute blast there last season! I’m sure it’ll be a top stop for us again once we release our 2023 air show schedule! Once it’s posted you can find it here! www.vintagewingsinc.com/2022-schedule
It is always a great day when another of these old workhorses is restored and being flown again. With so many being converted to turboprop planes or being outright scrapped this is a thing of rare beauty. The one thing I don't get is why the wide window next to the loading door? I've never seen that on any DC-3.
First flight on the best day of the year my birthday🎉😂. Congratulations on the flight looks awesome. I’m currently going through my ppl working towards my cpl and multi and instrument rating. Thanks for the motivating video
Beautiful Douglas. You guys need to turn down the volume of your grand marching music and let the Pratts do the talking. "Mike" Kelly, "Old School" aviator, CFI, and DC-3/C-47 pilot.
Fantastic fellas! My dad sent this to me -he lives back in Beach City where I grew up. ,😃 My brother and mom live in New Phila so def would be great to see her! When does she fly there?? 😲😊
Congratulations to everyone involved. Great to see another DC3 returning to the air. For me, the video was spoiled by the unnecessary dramatic music. Totally unnecessary.
Thanks for the comment! Glad you appreciated the imagery! Will take note with the music and will hopefully have more content of the C-53 for everyone soon!
Hi Tony, the main differences include C-53s having a smaller passenger door and small cargo door on the rear captain side of the aircraft. C-47s have a much larger dual cargo door in the rear along with a reinforced floor which the C-53s do not have! Visit the Vintage Wings site to learn more here!! www.vintagewingsinc.com/what-is-a-c-53
The work needed to replace the large bay windows in the back was deemed to difficult / arduous at this time. I believe they may eventually go back and fix that at a later date.
From an old retired Infantryman, thank you so much.
From all of us paratroopers past and present, thank you for keeping this lady flying… the ghosts of thousands of sky warriors salute you! 🇺🇸🪖👍🏻
Another Example Of American Exceptionalism - Bravo !
She'd look real good in the air flying with "That's All Brother". Nice restoration.👍
Uma excelente aeronave de fabricação americana, parabéns rapazes pelo trabalho!👍
Love this video. Outstanding work on both the C-53 and the video's production quality!
She is back to where she belongs. Congratulations to all. PS: I`m not crying, it is just dust in my eyes.
Those av fumes will make anyone tear up! lol glad you liked it!

Wow! Terrific! And so clean. Looks like she is straight from the factory!
wow. Logan. I'm bawling, just like I was then. Superb!!!
Congratulations Jason, Joe and the entire crew! Job well done. This airplane will bring awe and delight wherever she goes.
Well done everyone! So happy to see her break those surly bonds! I believe there were many unheard voices cheering you on today as well.
Out Freakin Standing! Congratulations all around!!
Outstanding job of bringing back a piece of history. Everyone with a hand in this project should celebrate giving others a window in time!
Just the most beautiful perfect plane ever built the true stuff of legends what a great restoration,, well done..👍👍😄😄

OMG it has gone so far and I'm still speechless
I love douglas dc3, this is beautiful plane, very variability use ....
Greetings from Australia, and.......Congratulations! She's beautiful!
Incredible super team
Absolutely beautiful job! She LOOKS like she wants to fly🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲. My favorite part is the music…it reminds me of WWII IN HD: Air War😊
That was beautiful to watch.
Thanks for keeping history flying..
Wow..DC.10...dakota ..i like it..with sound engine ....
Congratulations! That is outstanding!
Great presentation too!

Would love to see you fly over Beach City and wave.
Hope to see you guys at the Reading (PA) airshow.

Beautiful airplane
Beautifully done! I just wonder what was the pilot's experience on DC-3 or similar before flying this overhauled C-53. He obviously did great.

It's all so beautiful, but I wanted to hear the engines, for that you have to blast this damn music....
It looks beautiful. I wish I could see her in real life

LET'S GOOOO

QUE BONITO FEZ HISTÓRIA NA AVIAÇÃO.
God bless you all
She sure is a beaut.

Congratulations. My wife and I had hoped to join you but she has passed on.
What is the service history of this C-47?
ES INCREIBLE EL RUGIDO DE ESTOS MOTORES AMI ME TOCO VER VOLAR EN SU EPOCA DE MEXICANA DE AVIACION
Can we get one without all of the dramatic music. I want to hear the engines.
More on the way!
Google will take you to engine runs. Those round ones though, ya kinda need to be close enough to feel 'em too.
@@bruceday6799 You sure are right about that. I do love the sound of those big radials. Maybe even a tiny, tiny bit more than a Merlin. Blasphemy?
@@robeddy3722 The big round sound is not to be trifled with!

Could do without the music -- actually detracts from the tremendous achievement represented here. Certainly appreciated the imagery.
Thanks for the comment! Glad you appreciated the imagery! Will take note with the music and will hopefully have more content of the C-53 for everyone soon!
Why is this a C-53 and not a -47?

@@KinseyMedia thank you for responding. I learned something
I LOVE DACOTA
Love you too ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😅😊
Freaking music while engines are running. Grrrrrrrr!
Пришел музыку послушать, а тут какой-то DC3 летает
Went to the website, disappointed there isn't swag.
Lose the music

USA USA !!!!!!!!!!
Looked good until I saw the cabin windows which are totally wrong for an airplane in military colors.

@@WarbirdKid1940 All of the windows have been enlarged, not just the bay windows.
@@davidobyrne9549 Curious how you did it on your C-53 restoration David...
@@davidobyrne9549, so that means more of the original airframe was taken out. sad to see that happen for any reason.
