I think she's going to be solid in Paris. Lot of experience around her on the team, and I"m sure that will help. Despite the injuries, US is sending a great squad.

After the 3 injuries, I thought that it would be between Hezly and Tiana. I didn't even know who there were until Core Classic, but I like both of them. I also like Jocelyn, but she is older than Hezly and Tiana. I'm purely a viewer (I don't even know what a salto is) and just a viewer's POV.

I am not really concerned with age. I am more interested in the gymnastics. I was 18 when I made my first Olympic team and that is young for a male gymnast but I was used to the competitive environment and competed well in the Olympics. Either way, Hezly is doing some really nice gymnastics now and seems to have a positive momentum.

Partly because Valeri paces her to LA, not Paris. I hope Valeri doesn't make her do crazy upgrades. Yes, Hezly can do all these 6.6+D bars and beam in training, but consistency is more important. Bars and beam are the easiest to get 9 / 10 in total.

4:21⇨ I'd personally take a "small fault" deduction for Hazly's ring position here. Because as the CoP states, there are 3 requirements for the ring position, 2 of which Hezly meets, and 1 which IMO she does not: Upper back arch and head release (✓ for Hezly); 180° split of legs on the diagonal (✓ for Hezly); & Back foot *TO* crown of head (Ⅹ for Hazly). IMO, in Hezly's instance, the D-panel would give the skill its value (as her back foot is not below the crown of her head); however, as per the CoP, the E-panel, would then take a small fault deduction for her "rear foot [being only] at head height." For a much better explanation of what i mean: ruclips.net/video/YfQm4aUUPF0/видео.html.

Thanks for the message. That is a lot to consider in a skill that lasts a micro second and I imagine, even with experienced judges, it is often a judgement call and they do their best. Slow motion gives us great advantage to see things more accurately. I am not a women's judge so I look more at the artistry and compare to other gymnasts. Thanks for you insights and my best.

Okay Mr Lance in your Fancy Pants, isn't a stalder-Maloney called a Chow, as in Amy Chow, the American girls that has Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze hardware in her jewelry box????? I wasn't surprised by Hezly at all, look who her coach is, look et her results at Nationals, look at her results a year ago....she is on a trajectory...now if she continues with Valeri and goes for LA Gold will be a question to ask each year after she has already had her Olympic experience this year....She is already capable of many upgrades with the amplitude she has in all her skills...she could be the 2028 AA Champ!!!!?....!!!!!!
