Absolutely love her. We were staying at the same hotel as Dominique at Trials in June and she (and her friend) could not have been kinder when we approached her and went on and on about how much we love her and how much she means to the sport. I love the comparison of Dawes to Jones. Both so dynamic and it's neat to see 30 years later the technique is similar.

When I saw Ali Raisman's passes, it always reminded me of Dawes - long pass, lot of energy, very strong and powerful with a lot of precision. Easy to forget she went to 3x Olympics since 96 is sandwiched in the middle and that is the most famous.

She seemed to have springs in her feet. Loved watching her. One of my FX all-time faves.

Dominique was an amazing gymnast, with so much energy…it makes me tired just watching all that tumbling!

Simone’s double double layout looks like a back in double full out. Trampoline term !!!!! It’s so amazing. I also love Jordans full in straight. As an athlete I did full out instead of full in. I found it easier for some reason yet double double was good for me. I could see in the skill if that makes sense to you

Crazy how nobody is talking about how Jordan was underscored and the fault was with the judges because whatever way you wanna put it Jordan’s dod was higher than the other two Romanians… but anyways y’all go off on whatever makes y’all sleep at night It’s not about who looks good doing the routine it is execution and level of dod and Jordan was higher on both and was underscored ‼️‼️‼️‼️

Upgrading to Silivas (even with nice form) only makes her floor score marginally better due to low scoring nature of the event. I'm happy that she doesn't do that double layout as 2nd pass anymore. It's horrifying to watch her on floor early in the season, but she manages to be more realistic and do a triple twist instead.

Alice is the proof that beam isn't just about (paper) difficulty. Execution is a key in this apparatus. Great job!

Perhaps this format with event finals spread over several days is preferred for commercial reasons, but it's not the best for gymnasts. They are already exhausted after qualifications, team finals and all-around finals. Why wouldn't you have event finals in 2 days (both women and men), and get it quickly done? I was watching the beam final thinking "the winner will be whoever manages to complete the routine without a fall or a major wobble".

I was hoping Simone and Suni would both medal on beam, but D'Amato's gold on beam was certainly one of the great moments in Paris, along with the medal ceremony and the scene with Yaqin. She was 6th on floor, about 0.5 off of the gold medal score. Very solid and I'm sure the landings you mention will improve. It has to be difficult on these springy floors. The Italian team was very impressive in these Olympics.

Ana stepped out of bounds that is clear not Sabrina, She did not deserve that Medal. I understand that Romania wanted the win but it should not just be given to them, anyone with eyes can see the mistakes and deductions, The leg separations the bent knees even Her wolf turn was mediocre. Did She perform beautiful Yes! Did She tumble well Yes!! But she stepped out of bounds and had mistakes, Im sorry She is not the rightful owner of that Medal.
