I really enjoyed how you filmed and edited this. Would love to see more, not necessarily the free soloing, but the climbing and your approach to sharing it (angles, “story,” content, etc.). Dope edit! 💪🏽

Haha thank you! We planned to take photos of him on the route, not video. When we were at the base, without telling my friend I am recording, I recorded part of our conversation with my DSLR. Then I took some footage with the phone while shooting with DSLR on the bottom and proposed the idea of doing more video during him climbing. We recorded the part I used in the intro, after he was done climbing, because like I said, making a clip wasn't in the original plan. That's probably why it worked out and feels authentic. :)

Nicely done. You look super comfortable, even down climbing.

Song reminds me of Slapshot, every time I hear it.

Did you have to free solo this also to film Tanner?

Haha NO! That’s more After Six or Snake Dike style of soloing :)

You probably know this but Brad died on a rappel, not from soloing. Also, Tim died from HIV and not soloing. Tim wasn't a climber, just a guy I knew who got HIV from unprotected anal sex with many male partners.
