You should come fish lake ponchartrain this fall. Im headed out this morning . We have another week or so and they will all be out on the edge of the gulf .
@@CaptCollier I was surprised the Therma cell did not keep the no see ums off of you. I used it for years while turkey hunting. Still use it in the boat now.
I appreciate it! And you definitely should. You may not catch of bunch of small ones but if there are quality fish in the area they will definitely smack it
If you can put up with the no-see-ums that is the way to catch quality specs. Long sleeve shirt with sun gloves helps a lot. I tried one of those hats with the netting but they seem to get underneath it. You have to do that early or late though. The jet skiers and mullet guys will kill you during the day. I wish the go pro was working on the big one. I love watching the wade videos.
Yes it’s unfortunate about the noseeums, but I’ll put up with them as long as the fish are chewing. I recently purchased some “marsh romance” spray and it seems to help. Hope to do more wade fishing this year!
Oh the ole sparkle beetle rig use to throw down on some trout for me back in the day! Rapala skitterwalk is a great option as well. I threw it a few times this evening in the video and had a few blowups but they wouldn’t commit to grabbing it
Gorgeous Trout. Always keep a bottle of picaridin lotion with me. I would most likely have been throwing a Mirrodean or Zman jerkshadz keel weighted. Top water or floating twitch bait would’ve been great options also
Never wade fished specks before but my favorite lure that worked for me well in the past year has been a curly tail gulp minnow. Caught red's and trout on it this year. I also love using a double speck rig either feather or sparkle beetle.
Beautiful trout I love it. I have a quick question, How is the Tarpon fishing up there in Bama? And do you fish for them? Tarpon are rolling everywhere here in the Pine Island Sound near Bocca Grand Pass. I've caught two so far this season and jumped several others. Sorry if it's a dumb question.
Thanks! And we do have tarpon that come this way in the summer months. Ive seen them several times rolling in mobile bay and around the islands but never intentionally tried to catch them. Id love to try at some point this year though
I was sent some waders and wading boots from a brand called 8fans. Relatively cheap and Ive been happy with them so far. That’s what I was wearing in this video
Shoot. Thought I recognized your spot. Looks just like the west side of the road heading down to the island before the bridge. You think that would be a similarly good spot to try?
@@CaptCollier yeah I was trying to pick my boat up on the oyster bar ramp right there and they had 8 lines out and was pissed cause I needed to use the boat ramp😂😂
That they do. I believe this lure has alittle more “action” to it vs the Paul brown though. Also I like the owner beast hook paired with it as wel, I feel like you keep fish pinned better than those trebles.
Watching your vids sure makes me a little home sick for Decatur and the Tennessee river. Only got to the gulf a few times while growing up but now the gulf is practically in my back yard here in Texas. My favorites are flounder ( love them stuffed with crab meat ), red snapper and the occasional pompano. Really enjoy your vids so keep 'em coming. Proud to be " Bama Born in Texas" .
Awesome, well I’m glad your able to enjoy the gulf lifestyle now. It’s a special place no matter where your at along the coast. Flounder is definitely top notch!
If you have those Damn Knats around the house you need to threaten to sue the City or County where you live until they have a monthly spraying . A lot of Cities have a fog sprayer that totally eliminates thes e these damn Knats. A lot of private sprayes that use the same pesticide are cleared to spay in Alabama now . Its best sprayed on a humid night with no wind where it clings onto the moisture where these damn knats keep laying there eggs constantly.

I’d love to venture over that way. I’m actually making a trip to the chandelier island next weekend from Pascagoula
Good stuff man
Thankya sir
Good stuff!! That was fun
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Subscribed. Never knew that about the trout slick, and not every guide would have given that info out on a YT video. Great video!
Thanks! I don’t mind sharing what I know.
Glad to see your upload, love your video man!!
Preciate it buddy
Yes I like wade fishing . I think it is the purest form of fishing .
Great to hear. I’ll definitely be doing more of it this year
What time of day and which tide would you consider to be your favorite ?
Sweet trout cap!
Thankya sir!
Beautiful trout and great show.
They were pretty for sure, thanks!

Great video cap! Gonna have to try this lure in south ms
I appreciate it! And you definitely should. You may not catch of bunch of small ones but if there are quality fish in the area they will definitely smack it
Nice fish Brando! Keep up the great content.
Thanks! And will do
Awesome video man, I love making fishing videos myself and really enjoy your content!! 🤝🤝
Thanks man, keeping doing what you love
Great video, keep them coming
Thanks!
Awesome video! Do you think the trout are still in that marshy area or have they all moved out to the deeper structure yet?
Planning on heading to the grand opening Saturday, looking forward to meeting you!
Awesome, I’ll be there for a few hours. Just look for the mullet
Good vid. Damn nice trout
Thankya!

My old faithful for wade fishing is a tandem rig sparkle beetle. But in those conditions i would have thrown a skitterwalk

I already know it's gonna be a fire video keep grinding 🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate ya buddy , will do
Done a bunch of that on intercoastal water way at Navarre, loved that bone color top dog ! Great job, those trout are slippery
That's one of my favorites as well! Those morning/evening topwater blowups are fun to watch too
Never wade fished specks before but my favorite lure that worked for me well in the past year has been a curly tail gulp minnow. Caught red's and trout on it this year. I also love using a double speck rig either feather or sparkle beetle.
Awesome! Whatever gets the job done right??
@CaptCollier yep. Turns out hard-head catfish hit the gulp minnows too. Found that out monday.
Man I hope you’re fishing this morning. Driving off island now and the conditions look AMAZING!
Wish you wouldn’t have told me that! I’m stuck at work all week. It’ll be in this weekend though 🎣
@@CaptCollier could have gone off shore today with no problem
Nice fish Branden! I’m curious what a big swimbait would have done??? Cant wait to see you in your new ride as well….
I’m sure it would have produced some good results as well. And soon!
Great Video Capt. my favorite lure for trout would be the MirroDine sub surface lure, always produces good numbers.
I got the lil slicks on sale at dicks And been using them for reds, bass, trout and flounder. Them all seem to like them.
Great choice. I’m a fan of those myself.
Yes they do! Swamp thing is my favorite color in the lil slick
@@CaptCollier idk what colors I have. I just grabbed them.
Of course, the southern salt hoodwink.. Why not? It just works...
That’s what I’m talking about. It sure does
Days a gudun 😎
Yessuh!
Good day wading. How's the boat coming along?
I appreciate it, it was fun. And it’s doing great. Been running charters on it, haven’t had time to make a good video in it yet though
That trout got my blood boiling Capt. Quality fish! No matter how long you fish, when you catch any trout over 25" you get the shakes
Ain’t that the truth. I’m sure y’all could hear the heavy breathing after that biggen 😅
Cool video man 🤙🏽
Now you are going to make me try wade fishing 😅
Definitely something to try. Cool experience to be in the water with the fish you’re catching
love your channel and quality - do you mind saying if this is in the Gulf State Park?
It’s not

Do I need to send you a floating net ? 😂 this made me laugh and be upset at the same time 😅
Lol nah I have one. I just don’t bring it because I planned on releasing fish anyways
Hey capt great vid as usual!! I was wondering what you wore as far as footwear for wadefishing?
I was sent some waders and wading boots from a brand called 8fans. Relatively cheap and Ive been happy with them so far. That’s what I was wearing in this video
Oh ok thanks good to know might get me some😂keep up the good work man!
Love watching you fish in my (our) hime area. I’m not gonna ask where you were but was there a canal between you and the road back there?
Glad you enjoy it! And no it wasn’t
Shoot. Thought I recognized your spot. Looks just like the west side of the road heading down to the island before the bridge. You think that would be a similarly good spot to try?
I’m trying to get a trip lined up for the first of June would you be available for a charter?
The first availability I have is the 20th of June
Never fished that bank but I was fishing back in heron bay that same day because I seen that little Jon boat with 3 crackheads on it 😂
Lol yea they didn’t seem to know what they were doing
@@CaptCollier yeah I was trying to pick my boat up on the oyster bar ramp right there and they had 8 lines out and was pissed cause I needed to use the boat ramp😂😂
Wade fish the gulf side when the conditions are right.
I’ll definitely be doing that
Iv never thought to wade over there 🤔
that Slick lure looks AWFULLY close to a Paul Brown Corky Devil lol......Great video!!
That they do. I believe this lure has alittle more “action” to it vs the Paul brown though. Also I like the owner beast hook paired with it as wel, I feel like you keep fish pinned better than those trebles.
@@CaptCollier great video. Do you prefer the weighted or non-weighted Beast hook? Thanks
That’s what you call a Gator Trout… nice fish.
Id say so too! gotta love it
Slamming pigs. Really impressive.
#LetsGoBrandon
Pigs fo sho. Thanks
Nice trout capt but help me understand you got a brand new boat 🤔??? And no fishing vids of it yet i would be sleeping on that baby ♥️
Haha! Ikr. I’ve been busy running charters on it so havnt had much time to shoot a quality video on it yet, but very soon!
Coming down end of august what would charge for 1/2 a day

Real surprised you didn't get carried off by the noseeums LOL
bro it got bad the last 20 minutes. I couldn't take it anymore. when that wind died they were unbearable

Honestly, the first lure that came to mind was a leather frog.
Lol. I’m sure a hungry trout would thump it
