  • We visit the 3rd annual Jeeps on the Mountain at Sundown Mountain in Dubuque Iowa. Neat event with some off road trails cut through the ski hill and surrounding property, camping site accessible by those trails. This year was a bit abbreviated on my end, I just seem to keep creating disasters that eat up my time haha.
Good seeing all the people that came out even after a week of rain, happy to see the turnout and support of this unique event. It's not every day we are allowed to run up and down a ski hill. Cool idea for them to open that up for it before the seasonal snow making starts.
We finally got a chance to take the ECO Challenge Discovery out for a little play in the dirt (or mud).

Great to see you and the ECO Disco out doing 4x4 things. Can't imagine getting a ski club in Ontario, Canada to welcome 4x4's. Mud is not my preference, however, I'd be interested in bring the ECO back to Canada.

Yeah it is pretty unique for them to open it up for that I think. But we have a fairly short ski season so the last couple years they have been much better about having some off season activities going on. So I guess to rip it all up at the end of summer before the snow starts getting made is a good idea.
I’d much rather have about anything but mud as well.

The eco made light work of it all, nice to see!

It was a nice little break. I guess that’s what having all these things laying around is actually for.

Great to see the old Eco Disco being used for what’s she was intended for. Impressive that she managed to hang together for the entire event without any major problems, other than the loss of brakes, but who needs them anyway lol 😂. Was that a boatload of VW air cooled engine parts we saw in the workshop??? Look forward to the next update 😎👍

Brakes are always optional, especially in a 200k+ mile 3.9 V8. It doesn't have much go to begin with haha.
The VW stuff is an interesting deal, I'll explain all that here in the near future.

LR4 is mad at you, take it to the SW TWAT to make up for the indiscretion!!
Looks like a messy time for heavy things. Great footage tho 🙌

It’s probably really mad at me being it is currently stuffed with a load of Volkswagen parts.
It was a touch muddy, not my preference haha.

I was going to come to this but with all the rain I did something else instead. Hopefully we can meet up and wheel together soon. I think you would have had more fun at Oak Ridge this weekend than at that one.

That Oak Ridge event would have been fun to go to. I don't blame you for not coming with all the mud, not exactly a fan of that either.
I had a trail race I was volunteering at last weekend so I wouldn't have been able to make the trip your way. I do need to figure some time to come out your way someday.

Dang missed ya again. I wanted to go but it was the same weekend as Badlands customer appreciation day so I went out there with some buddies instead. Looks like the eco did well! I should be at Rich's this Saturday if you plan on going out again

I saw that you went out that way. Can’t blame you for that decision haha. Did nothing crazy with the ECO but it did well. I think I may swing out there this weekend with Ted if he goes.
