    This is a nice arendal advertisement. What do your other channel sponsors you work with think about this? You’re essentially bypassing them and pushing products they can’t sell (dream media, audio advice, etc).
    Also, how can any of your reviews be trusted when you guys are obviously making sponsored content like this with links that point back to you for profit?
    Let’s see if you can answer truthfully or if you get defensive. 😂

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Месяц назад +1

      I'll be more than happy to answer truthfully, because I have nothing to hide.
      Arendal Sound is a channel sponsor. That is clearly stated in any video that is sponsored by Arendal, both verbally and in the description of those videos.
      Contrary to your assumption, this video isn't sponsored. Arendal sent Gene a pair of bookshelf speakers to review. They got held up in customs for over a month and ended up being shipped back to Norway. Gene reached out to me to see if he and Don could come by to hear the Arendal speakers.
      Gene took measurements in my room and shared them in his video. Others have done the same. It's fine if you don't believe what I say about the 1528 series, but the measurements don't lie.
      Because Arendal is a channel sponsor, I do not receive any affiliate commissions on any Arendal purchases.
      Any other assumptions you want to make? Have a blessed week.

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Месяц назад

      Also, Jay has measurements on his channel as well. I believe he was the first to measure the 1528 Tower 8 speakers. Here is his review - ruclips.net/video/sYZRsArHmW8/видео.html.

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Месяц назад

      I forgot to mention I've never worked with Dreamedia, and certainly have never been sponsored by them. Audio Advice have sponsored a few videos over the years, mostly videos that I filmed at Audio Advice Live interviewing brands that they wanted to highlight at the show.
      Regardless of who my sponsors are, I will always continue to share great products that I feel my audience would enjoy.

    • @DonnieDorko477
      @DonnieDorko477 Месяц назад

      @ That’s funny because all of your arendal links point back to you. You make nothing when people buy through those links?

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  Месяц назад +1

      I"m not sure what you find funny. Every description of my videos state "Disclosure: Affiliate Links are used in the description of this video. I earn from qualifying purchases." Yes, if someone makes a purchase using my Amazon, Crutchfield, or Audio Advice affiliate links, I receive an affiliate commission. That's how affiliate links work.
      The links for Arendal are tracked through my Bit.ly account so I can see how much traffic they generate, but they are not affiliate links. I do not make any commission off of any Arendal sales.

    Don killed it. As a two channel first audiophile, I wholeheartedly agree with Don. Setup of main L&R speakers is essential for stereo and multichannel great music and movie reproduction. Hey Mike, I'm Clearwater just an hour and half from you. I can bring my test tracks over for two channel critical listening. Enjoy the 1528 guys.

    Guys thanks for video. Very helpful. There’s a lot of information online about home theater setup but not a lot on 2 channel listening. I moved from a HT setup to a 2.2 music only setup so this is great information. I agree on the speaker positioning, measuring, and using painters tape to mark the floor. Listening to music you know by heart is important as you test positioning because you know what you’re listening to and you’ll know when it sounds best. Keep up the great work and rock on!

    I agree and I don't use a center in my 5.1 system, for me it sounds better than with a center. Once the front speakers are setup correctly and you sit in the center sweetspot then it can give you a real nice centerstage where the vocals / voices are coming right from where the TV / screen is. The way I find it better is because it doesnt sound like it's coming from a box below the TV, thats how it often sounds to me with a center. Instead it sounds more as if they are standing in my room speaking, it's def. something worth testing and trying out if you normally watch movies alone or maybe with one other person, it can actually work out great.

    Hey. Great video but this is quite far from a perfect triangle? If the distance between the speakers is 2,9 m, and the perpendicular distance to the seating position is 2,9 m, the other sides of the triangle would be about 3.3 meters.

    Curious if you all think for home theater that its better to have a really good front stage or all matching speakers?

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  2 месяца назад

      Both. The perfect system would be identical speakers in every location. The reality is most of us cannot do that.
      I would create the best front sound stage you can that fits within your budget, and build around that

    • @dragonstone6594
      @dragonstone6594 2 месяца назад +1

      It's better if you have all matching speakers and you're sitting equidistant from all of them. That's how top studios are setup for mixing. But only if you have the space to fit that kind of setup.

      Yeah, with one 15” I’m dealing with 500ms decay at 20 and 40hz. Furnishings have helped me average around 350ms outside those lower frequencies in the theater.
      Still pending testing in 2.1, however one of the little known functions of the WIIM Pro Plus is the calibration feature as it was developed after most reviews. Got to say it’s like adding a minidsp. Will do some before and after with it. Turntables will likely never be calibrated to this level.

  • @jazzlouise

    Question, how did you know that 12 inches was the correct distance from the front wall vs. another distance?

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  4 дня назад

      12” is a good distance. The further you can get it from your front wall, the less interaction it has with the room. That’s why in a lot of Two channel set ups, the speakers will be several feet out into the room. But that’s not practical for most people’s living room like mine.

    • @dicmccoy
      @dicmccoy 2 месяца назад +1

      That's totally normal. As you move to a side from your main listening position, lets say for instance, to the left. As you move left, the speakers levels are going to change. As you were in the main listening position, they would have been perfectly balanced. But since you moved left, now the left is going to be louder than the right, and that is going to pull the center image to the left.

Or I set my head back for a minute in the head rest and I’m gonna miss the good part in the song. Or maybe I didn’t use a qtip because I ran out. Should I punish the kids or the dog when they move my chair? Yeah inches make a difference but only in the bedroom
