I learned I was about 15 % Portuguese and one day realized that the Southern Sicilian I learned from Mi Nonnu Onfrio was actually Portuguese slang. I always wonder why some Italian speakers asked what language is that? Spanish? Well all Latin languages share some feeling and speech. I grew up on Flamenco and have a large collection of Fado from my Father. RIP Beautiful songs. Love it!!

Now I wonder what the hell i was thinking before. Absolutely beautiful. and my parents were right Amalia really is the queen of fado. What a gifted woman she was.

C'est pas de la musique arabo-andalouse, c'est né au 19e siècle, les derniers maures du Portugal se sont fait expulser au 15e siècle. La guitarre est inspirée d'instruments italiens de la Renaissance.

So beautiful I could make an animated movie based on the fairy tale The Fisherman and his Wife and it's about a fisherman who befriends a magical talking fish that is cursed. The movie took place in a coastal city in Portugal. I hope the Disney crew accept my traditional animated movie

Olá! Gostei muito do video. Podes fazer uma versão em Português? Gostaria de mostrar para minha família.
O fado lembra-me da música Enka japonesa e do tango argentino. Bela melancolia que representa um povo inteiro. Muito bonito.

People from Portugal came to places in India, especially my homeland Kerala, and there would have been some Portuguese music played by some Portuguese travellers

Hello Indonesia! I just like you have a music similar to fado. Remenber portuguese navigators.

In Indonesia we known it as "Musik Keroncong". Fado was acculturated to Indonesia culture.

Just got back from a trip to Porto. Unfortunately, not able to make the Caves & Fado music coming back too late by train from Regua visiting the Duro wine making region.
    Good to hear this.

fado music has developed in Indonesia in the 15th century. This music became the forerunner of keroncong music.

Lies. Fado was originated in Portugal many years ago.
I'm Portuguese and I can confirm my sentence. Just read a Portuguese history book.

@@whitetigeryt29 I think Kerocong is derivate to portuguese FADO leads by old mariners

Very interesting!! We are spending 3 weeks near Ericeira in September and are hoping to find some live Fado music. My husband is a musician and surfer and he's excited to spend time with both activities. I'll be drinking your fine Portuguese wines and enjoying the people and sights of your country!
