Very well done. I have checked it out several times over the years. They are doing a lot of demo now so I am glad you captured what remains before its gone forever.

Hello - I'm working on a video about Gould Island and would love to feature some of your footage. On my recent visit most of the structures you show here were demolished so I wasn't able to capture them. What is the best way to reach you?

Very well done. I used to wonder what was over there when I saw it from the main base.

The island's southern 75% is officially designated as a wildlife conservation area and is closed to the public. If you go there from March to June, you're going to get divebombed by nesting seabirds that don't like to be disturbed. The powers that be still say its too dangerous out there to allow sight-seers. The years the Navy controlled it, they dumped trash and hazardous waste everywhere. The buildings were crumbling and decayed. I found one building in my exploration that was filled with a large pile of discarded asbestos. Much of what you see in this video is gone now, and they are working on making it safer. The plan is that it will eventually be opened as a campground. All that being said, the entire time I spent exploring out there, I never saw a single person. Of course, if you go on the Navy land at the northern end, I understand you will see people real quick. IM not sure if they are as strict as they used to be, but since the Navy started construction out there again, I suspect they are. They have been known for greeting trespassers at gunpoint on the Navy end.

Great video, but too bad you felt you had to speed it up so fast, so we couldn’t see all the details. I kept having to go back over and over again, so I wouldn’t miss anything. Slower would have been much better, in my opinion. What was the rush?

Internet video viewers are a fickle lot. The majority of people get bored very easily and stop watching if flickering lights and constant motion don't hold their attention. 😉. Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry you felt it moved too fast.
