yo! Local here. thnx for giving my homepark such a great revieuw. I ain't gonna say anything that has already been said in the comments about food and stuff, justt wanted to thank you😁. ps: i'm still hoping for weerwolf/loup-garou to get RMC'ed😆!
We had the fried chicken place by Kondaa and it was incredible and very well priced. Only like €18 for the chicken bucket with fries and souvenir cups that easily fed both me and my partner. Genuinely my favorite fast-food/fried chicken I’ve had. We also did Aqualibi and I will agree a lot of the slides aren’t anything to write home about but Rapido is genuinely one of the most fun (and dangerous) water slides I’ve been on.
@CanobieCoaster it's really well decorated, long, and really fun cuz it's not just a slide yougodown but you have to get up at some points and has multiple pools with artificual currents. It's really hard to explain, but if you ever go back to walibi belgium, you should go to aqualibi 😉
I'd actually say that Rapido at Aqualibi is my favorite water slide ever. It's really well themed and a ton of fun with friends. It stood out a lot for me at the water park. I also see it as a waterslide version of Chiapas 😍
I used to love Loup-Garou, sadly it was very very rough when i went there yesterday, its a shame because it has good airtime but the roughness was just too much as for vampire, while it had a lot of headbanging, there was some patting on the coaster so my head actualy survived.
For me, Walibi Belgium is the standard when it comes to good parks. A good standout ride, good supporting rides, and it's nicely maintained. The theming is also a good plus
I visited Walibi Holland about a month ago. I really enjoyed my day there. I missed out on two coasters (Tiki-Waka and Pulsar) due to the park closing at 6PM combined with the queues closing early, though I completely understand why they doo it, and all the better for it. Kondaa is a great coaster, difinitely in my top 6. I actually enjoyed Vampire more than Condor tbh (controversial I know), but I though it was a, dare I say it, good coaster. As for Cobra, I really hope they go forward with the idea of putting it indoors. It would transform a standard boomerang into its own thing. Also I hope they add vest restraints because that cobra roll slapped my ear hard. Great video as always!
Kondaa looked like a top 20 coaster in the world from its first ever test POV imo. The park definitely needed it, not just because they needed an elite standout ride, but they need a high thrill coaster with tons of airtime and they got it, airtime and other weird cool elements. The rest of the park looks cool, the good old Intamin drop Tower. The SLC is, well an SLC, the Boomerang obviously isn't as good as Walibi Hollands. Overall Walibi has the better coasters and collection which is why Walibi Belgium needed Kondaa to compete.
I was in Walibi Holland the day before where i was really disappointed by the food. So i decided to go all in in Walibi Belgium and got myself a steak with baked potatoes at a restaurant in the western area. it was pricyer then the usual junk food but really tasty and worth the price.
Thanks for clearing up the "Walibi confusion" The difference between Belgium and Holland can sometimes be confusing since they're all so close and most people speak dutch in both countries. Also: while the term "Netherlands" generally refers to Holland: Belgium is considered to be " Southern Netherlands." I ought to know better, having been in both countries and each only once; 26 years apart too. The details therein require two stories both historical and true, but also too long to post here.
When Vampire, the Vekoma SLC, opened at Walibi Wavre, with the traditional trains and over the shoulder restraints, did many like it or consider it to be a smooth ride?
Kondaa is good and smooth. Their fast pass options are not so pleasing though. Vampire and Weerwolf were both shut during our visit. That was a shame, because I was curious about both of them because of their reputation, especially the Weerwolf Your comments about the food are totally justified. My complaint would be about their hot beverages. We visited on a cold day, so after a couple hours you are looking for a nice coffee, a nice ‘pick-me-up’ moment. Their instant coffee will NOT give you that. Coffee of such low quality I would only expect at construction sites, during long mountain walks or on desert islands.
I am reviewing this video mostly out of curiosity regarding Kondaa, as I really want this kind of coaster to come to Alton Towers in the form of new unique layout built into the terrain. I think the carpark behind Air (galactica), would be the right location where they could dig down deep trenches & tunnels like with Oblivion to keep it below the tree height, would be the best realistic location for it. I love to know your thoughts on that. Do you think a terrain intamin Mega Coaster like Kondaa would be great for SW10?
So what would you rate Cobra, Loup Garou, and Vampire? What do you think about those three coasters at Walibi Belgium in terms of forces, pacing, and smoothness?
I'm not a local, but we managed to find a pretty decent chicken wrap. I can't remember where it was from though, which probably isn't very helpful. Edit: I think it was from "Rock Sandwich"
I think its really sad that it looks and feels like walibi holland gets more attention than the original walibi belgium gets, kondaa made me change my opinion a little bit but there is not a clue of the rmcing of loup garou. Untamed is up for a few years already, where is it in belgium. For sure now that belgium has more competition added in the recent year, a new rmc could beat ride to happiness and maybe become the best rollercoaster in the world. Walibi holland got more work done on all the vekoma on holland and absolutely nothing happened in belgium.
The owners of both parks beg to differ with you! The amount of investments that go to Walibi Belgium double that of Walibi Holland! A conversion of an exciting woody and a single rail coaster do not come even close to the 100 million Walibi Belgium got in 2018 in their 5 year plan. Please get your facts straight.
@@maartenkruijff4293 I know about the 100m euro investment, but most of it will be spend on new rides and not on maintaining the old rides. Vampire would be one of the best vekoma slcs if it wheren't for them goofy ahh trains, same goes for cobra. I still stand by the agrument about untamed and loup garou, its on the right side of the hill and it would be an INSANE eyecatcher from the street because its close to it. If you look at the things walibi holland does different like the pathways, entrance signs and themed areas… i think that park is way better in that way. The coaster lineup drops intensely after kondaa as loup garou is the second best coaster. It just doesnt simply hold up.
@@CanobieCoaster Yes indeed. I think I almost made it to 1000 rides. As a platinum passer you have to scan the pass at the speedy queue. Unfortunately, that does not count on exactly how many trips you have made.
Noise complaints from locals should NEVER matter at any park...who was there first? who would live near an amusement park and expect it to be quiet? It is just such a stupid issue to have... I hear this all the time from my girlfriends work at Universal Studios Hollywood...locals ALWAYS complaining about noise...especially for Halloween Horror Nights...They spend millions on noise mitigation and they give freebies and do other things for the locals to keep them quiet...I say they should not waste their time or money...F them all
I like Walibi Belgium, but calling it one of the premium parks in Europa is kind of a stretch🙈 I can name at least 5 better parks within a 5 hour drive from this park🤷♂️
@@CancelHappiness yep it’s subjective and I like it to! But with the likes of Efteling, Phantasialand, Europapark, Disney, Liseberg and subjectively Energylandia in Europe, Walibi Belgium is definitely not a premium park in Europe in my eyes
I would not ride Vampire again. I likely wouldn't ride Cobra again since it's not a unique layout and I'd prioritize the custom stuff at a distant park.
Typical a Belgian mentality, the noise complaint, but it isn't caused by the parc ... rather by the people who come living near the parc, airport, highway, railroad because the houses or ground is cheaper there. And then, when they already know they are going to live near a noisy place, start to complain about that noise.
Unfortunately, noise can cause a lot of stress and be really unhealthy. Problem is that most parks started very small without coasters, and mostly not too far off existing residential areas. And over time it got worse and worse regarding the sound level. worst part is the usual days peaple use to calm down (weekends) are the worst. Everyone should be happy not to live directly next to a theme park, no matter how much we love them
