So firstly, thank you for an amazingly clear and easy to follow video - I'm only a month into yoga, and found the detailed description of each pose very helpful. A quick question - ought the inner front of my hip joints ache in child's pose? I have no difficulty with my muscles in that position, but am aware that i have slightly reduced hip flexion due to my bone structure, so don't want to do damage. If they should not, do you have any advice for adapting the pose to reduce the joint flex in that position?

This is *exactly* what I need - a slow, no-pressure introduction that even someone who can't sit comfortably cross-legged with a pillow can get through and feel pretty good about. After several failed attempts with yoga, I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I'm looking forward to the next lesson!
I like that it was slow that I could actually get to the right place and still have time to breathe before you moved on. And you have a calm, relaxing voice. I've tried yoga before, but today felt good!

May I ask which profession messed up your back that bad, if any?
That was such a simple workout, but I still got lots out of it! Especially all the detail you gave for the tabletop position, which I’m sure I’ve held thousands of times over the past few years, but it worked my body more today than I think it ever has! I definitely want to give the 1 minute hold a go. Getting back to basics is a good thing to do!

I totally agree. This tabletop made my arms and shoulders burn eventhough I'm used to planks and push up position even on a galopping horse. SarahBeth makes us work hard while still being gentle to our bodies...
I also loved the tabletop advice! My knees were thankful for the extra towel padding, too.
@@Amadea27 Agreed, I have done table top and cat cow many times over the past couple of years, particularly in prenatal and mommy and me yoga, and we never got into the details of those poses. Thank you Sarah Beth for introducing me to a stronger table and cat cow practice!

Just did the first of 7 day 10 minute yoga challenge. I really appreciated the slow pace--allowing me to feel each micro shift in my body. I liked it was only 10 minutes, so not hard to commit to it. During beginning of pandemic, I discovered your video on yoga for sadness and depression which really helped. And as I wrote then, the calm and reassurance and knowledge comes through into your voice, which is rare in teachers, and which I particularly respond to. So thank you. I will continue.

Started my 7 day beginners challenge today with Beginners Stretch. I'm 67 years old and have been very isolated during the pandemic, gaining weight and losing some physical fitness. I'm a bike rider (casual) and I keep active mowing my own lawn and such. I was surprised with how much flexibility I have lost over the last year or so! WOW. Determined to slowly work back into flexibility and losing some weight along the way. LOVE the way you explain and love the cadence of your videos. Thank you!

Just signed up for the 7 day yoga challenge. Did the first 3 days after going to urgent care on Tuesday and the X-ray is showing Hip Osteoarthritis. Hoping for relieve after starting this challenge and doing 30 minutes today. First time with you.

I started my yoga journey with Sarah Beth's videos in 2017. I fell out of practice during the pandemic, but of course when I was ready to come back to the mat these videos were the perfect thing.
If you haven't gone through her challenges or explored her other videos I HIGHLY encourage it. She is so calming and includes variations and great advice in general for beginners.
Recovering from a herniated disc and nerve damage and this has relaxed and helped me. I recommend this to anyone.

I enjoyed the gentle stretching and was pleased to learn that I didn’t need any special equipment. I started off on a chair but was taken by surprise to have to move to the floor for the table top pose. In future I will watch first.
All of the videos except for the last don’t require any props but there are suggestions because I will offer them throughout. Great idea to watch the video first to prepare!

I looked forward to the session today. Love everything about it: the voice, slow pace, the mindfulness to listen to my body. After only one session yesterday, as I worked, I became more aware of my core, my belly,, to press my naval to my back, noticing a strengthening in my lower back, and a greater sense of energy. I'm trying to start yoga again in a 'no excuses' way. I loved the 10 minute morning stretch! My challenge for this week is to prove myself I can do yoga on the daily, regardless of how crazy my schedule may be. I'm so encouraged!
