With only 3 episodes this series makes such a massive impact in visuals, sound design, narrative, voice acting and best of all, in music! - truly a modern day masterpiece!

literally. normally it takes some time for me to cry for characters, like at least 10-20 episodes but here in episode 3 they already had me sobbing Istg
Not to ruin the emotion and/ or feeling, because I am just as touched, but keep in mind that this series has a videogame that has been out since 2008, and has a massive audience from that game watching the series (which you may or may not be part of). It is easier to get moved from something that is already there. I recommend you watch Breaking Bad, if you have not already, or Euphoria, or the End of the F*cking world. They touched me as well, although Breaking Bad and the End of the F*cking world took a while to get used to the characters.

The Jinx and Silco last scene in combination with this song as ending track, brought tears... Those long awaited series Are strong and Do have an impact, I like it.
The fact Jinx and Silco got two of the most emotionally charged scenes and music scores is brilliant. Both just so complex and nuanced morally grey characters.
This is the gift of good writing combined with good production value and good acting. Much of what we've been missing in a lot of film and shows the last several years. You feel the impact of good storytelling to your core.
It was truly amazing. And the Brazilian portuguese dub did it even better. The only thing we missed in this dub was the "Jinx" meaning, 'cause we don't have a slang for this in portuguese.
It's the first time for me when I like original voiceover. I listened to all countries voiceovers of Arcane, some countries did it pretty well, but nothing can top the English one. Which makes sense because they hired real working actors for the roles, even the Powder actress
I was never really a huge fan of English Voice acting since… most of the time they’re KINDA not good or something But damn Arcane definitely made me screech
Those line. "Where is my home? I don't recognize the faces anymore Where is my Friend? The one I've known since I was only just a kid" Hits so hard, powerful words
But in essence it wasnt a mistake though. Without her doing that, nothing would have changed. She set in motion a chain of events that led to the uprise of zaun. Of course its not over, but the situation now is so dire that a solution has to be found, the suffering of the people of zaun can no longer be ignored. So innocently she changed everything.

underrated comment, this was my exact experience just replace the tears with awe and realization that i almost gave up on a phenomenal series (on attempt 2)
The most devastating thing to me was that Vi just needed a moment to calm down. All she wanted was a moment to breathe, to grieve, before she went back to Powder. Just one more minute to reach her and everything would have been different...
They would have both died. If Marcus didn't take Vi, there was a bit chance both of them would have been killed by Silco. The only reason Silco didn't kill Powder was because he saw himself in her, betrayed and alone, suffering anx abandoned, having no one anymore. Its ingenious writing, like a Greek tragedy. Every little thing leads to another and so on so forth. Its fucking amazing.
Bruh I see Jinx so much different after arcane. Watching her crazy and with pink eyes and finally realizing why she is crazy and what hides behind hits me. Especially with this music lyrics. Jinx story is so epic, sad, and beautiful at the same time. Ofc I feel bad for her, but there is a tragic beauty in how she went mad, if you get me
I feel sorry for Powder. What seemed to be a breakthrough turned out to be the worst mistake of her life that caused her to loose everything in an instant. A turn of events that is way to cruel and way to hard to process. Unable to accept what happened she is left asking "Where is my home?", "Where is my Friend?" and slowly realising that it's all already gone. The only thing she can do now is to say "Goodbye" to her past, "Goodbye" to her future (as Powder) and "Goodbye" to Vi.
I get that, but the fact that she hugged Silco for absolutely no reason is weird to me. She didn't even try to chase Vi just gives up right there and replaces her instantly. "She's not my sister anymore". Then later on she gets jealous thinking Vi is replacing her with Caitlyn? So stupid. She deserved what she got, I only feel bad for Vi.
Instead of talking about Arcane I'd like to appreciate Ramsey's vocals, bc holy sht. She doesn't seem to be a very big artist so I appreciate Riot for giving her a stage bc she is TALENTED.
This song hit me so hard. After serving in the army for nearly 6 years and finally coming home, I don't recognize anyone I knew before. Feels like everyone moved on and I got left behind. "Cus I see smoke up ahead" was what I felt like coming back and "where is my home, I don't recognize the faces anymore, where is my friend the one I've known since I was only just a kid"... literally how I felt. My family didn't see me the same, my friends all changed, and everyone I knew moved on to bigger things. It's painful, but I have to say goodbye and start again
comrade, for whatever it is worth to hear from a random stranger that might not even be from the country you served, i still thank you for everything you have done to try and protect the innocent. it takes a special kind of strength and selflessness to enlist. just know that no matter what, you are still valued and that someone out there might just owe their life to you. i salute you o7
For real i was hype when i first saw the teaser where every other riot games were teased, but i eventually forgot about it, and i just watched it 4 days ago and i already can't imagine my life without it 😢I never expected this... What an absolute masterpiece
This is the best scene in entire Arcane in every season: the atmosphere, the sound in the background, the scrip, the dialog, the color and exposure of the scene, this song at the end…The most perfect, powerful and tear-jerking is the dubbing of Powder. I'm Italian and we pride ourselves on having (maybe) the best dubbing in the world, but God, in this scene the English one beats the Italian one without a doubt. How the emotions emerge in Powder's voice is just perfect. Usually Italian dubbing is full of emotion, but here it doesn't have the same intensity as the English one, it can't hold a candle to it. Change my mind.
Vero se parli della season 1, ma nella season 2 ci sono un paio di momenti che sono addirittura superiori per profondità imho, ti rimangono nella mente per settimane, che capolavoro di serie
The va for powder was amazing. When she was sobbing and crying out i only wanted to help i began tearing up And when she cried for violet to come back, the way she was sobbing and screaming really matched how unstable her breakdown was, going from a deep "i need you" to a high shrill "VIOLET" Because yeah, thats how a kid has a serious breakdown, thats what they sound like, not a tantrum, but a breakdown, sobbing so much their body shakes and unable to control their voice when they feel something so intense. I couldnt help but cry with her, because when vi left her i could feel a heavy imprint of "you did this" on Powder. She was already feeling shock and panic and guilt for realizing she hurt her friends and guardian, but then Vi further deepened those feelings by lashing out at her when she wanted to prove she could do more than make mistake after mistake, but Vi let her down, and still is even when theyre adults. I cant play LoL but i still follow everything, its amazing work.
Totally agree. They managed to capture that desperation and panic in her voice during her breakdown. Usually, whenever they show a character (especially child characters) having a breakdown, it doesn't capture that raw energy. It usually seems quite hollow and a bit off. They managed to build up to it quite accurately as well throughout the episode. The main point I remember is when she is alone after everyone left to go save Vander. Her breathing during that scene, breaking stuff, the hitting at her head, the screaming, and the fact that she was simultaneously fighting to keep herself worked up whilst also calming down (when she was holding her bag over her head). Both the ending and that scene are such accurate representations of a those feelings, and Powder's voice actor was perfect at capturing that energy.
Do it. I went in completely blind to the wider franchise, knowing absolutely nothing and by episode 3 it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's amazing, I can't recommend it enough!
1:39-1:45 literal chills! Ramsey's voice is probably my favourite vocal of the Whole Arcane OST, that sequence, this voice, Powder's pain- absolute masterpiece, captures the essence so well, unexplainable.
I can hear the sound of a heartbeat before it goes out Won't ever leave my memory of bloodshed all around And I can see a tear on my father's face before it falls out Oh, my enemy, how could I have ever let you down? Oh When all these trees saw us grow Cut our teeth and make our bones right here We'd play with shields made of stone Share our dreams and sit our thrones Be still, 'cause I see smoke up ahead and I got steel in my hands We will return like warriors, I swear, that we'll find glory up ahead Tell me Where is my home? I don't recognize the faces anymore, no Where is my friend? The one I've known since I was only just a kid I think it's time to say goodbye Goodbye, goodbye Goodbye, goodbye, woah

"It worked!" Powder exclaimed, beaming. "Did you see that, Vi? My monkey bomb finally worked!" Vi turned towards the ecstatic young girl, her eyes shutting and opening wide simultaneously as if trying to wake from a horrible nightmare. "You did this?" she said in a voice barely a whisper. "Why? Why did you do this?" Powder frowned in confusion. What was going on? Shouldn't her sister be proud; telling her how they never would have made it out without her? Then she followed Vi's gaze, and saw the blood-splattered goggles amidst the rubble. Claggor's goggles. She blinked, gasping in sudden fear. No. That wasn't her. She wouldn't. "I was saving you," Powder replied, drawing in on herself, her voice becoming small. "I only wanted to help," she choked with fear and dread as her older sister advanced on her in a threatening manner. "I only wanted to help, I only wanted to help! Please Vi-" Her vision went white for a moment, and her cheek stung painfully. It took Powder a moment to realize that Vi had punched her, causing her to crumple to her knees on the soot-covered ground. She stared numbly ahead, touching her cheek. "I told you to stay away!" Vi shouted, and Powder shrank from her sister's wrath. "I told you!" "Why did you leave me?!" Powder screamed, her voice cracking with emotion, her tears mixing with the spattering rain. She grabbed Powder's chin so she was looking directly into her eyes, and Powder quivered in terror. "Because you're a jinx," Vi growled in response. "Mylo was right!" She could see unfathomable pain in Vi's dark eyes, along with a simmering rage that terrified her. Her sister never hurt her; she was her friend. Her family. Vi's lips pulled back in a grimace, and Powder flinched as it seemed her sister would hit her again. Vi released Powder from her tight grip, so she dropped to the ground, folding in on herself. Through her tears Powder saw the blurry shape of her sister begin to slowly walk away into the darkened alley street. "Please Violet!" Powder screamed, sobbing. "Don't leave me! Please, please..." Her sister didn't glance back at Powder's pleas, and soon she disappeared into the darkened street. Powder screamed herself ragged, her body shaking violently as tears streaked her face. She screamed for Violet, for her family, for the world that was cruel enough to abandon her in her utmost time of need. She lay there in a puddle of her own misery for what seemed like days, even years. She kept seeing her sister with that look of absolute hatred and disgust, her gloves stained with Powder's blood. She was all alone now; no one to pick her up and tell her that it was all just a big mistake. Then she heard the distinct sound of hesitant footsteps. She looked up and saw a pair of polished black boots in front of her, stopped just before her face. A man peered down at her, a predatory expression on his countenance. It would have seemed welcoming, if not for the jagged scar and black eye on the left side of his face. "Hello, little girl," he said in a warm voice."Where is your sister?" A strange, violent emotion bubbled within Powder when he mentioned Vi, and she lunged at him with a yell. Her anger almost immediately turned to immeasurable sadness, and she sobbed into his gold-trimmed vest. "She is not my sister! She left me." She embraced him tightly, just glad for someone to hold on to. After a long moment, she felt a pair of strong arms hugging her back. It felt foreign, yet somehow deeply comforting at the same time. "It's okay," he whispered fiercely. "We will show them. We will show them all."

Episode 3 is probably one of the best episode's of Media that I have ever seen in my life. I've seen all the great TV shows etc. This episode will definitely stick with me, props to the writers, voice actors, musicians and everyone involved. I think the fact its animated helps to tell this story because you couldn't realistically replicate this with real actors on television.
i love how the song stimulates the feeling of spiraling into insanity or losing how you know yourself/identity. it's drowning you and it fits the narrative.
The ending scenes of ep 3 and the moment this song began to play was when I realised Arcane was something truly special. This song is to me saying goodbye to my doubts about this show.
Watching the final scene of episode 3 between Silco and Jinx as she fully succumbs to her madness, while this haunting track begins to play in the background, may be one of the best damn things I've seen in television in a long time. Holy crap, this show and this song are something else.
this song with this scene will forever be carved into my mind, every time this song hits 2:05 and onwards I continue to get shivers and goosebumps, this show has everything you could possibly get right
This song hacks your soul. Pain sorrow anger revenge all feelings combined. It's impossible you don't get emotional while listening to this. Everytime bring me tears
I do hope it has more of an...hmm "open" ending. Given that yes, there is a point where the current lore ended up and they shouldn't change too much of that but I'd like it if there's like still a bit of hope of a possible reconciliation in the future. Maybe
She was such a kind soul. I feel Powder was never really able to forgive herself for what happened. She would forever torture herself to bury it deep in her mind. Everyone else would eventually have forgiven her. But not her. She couldn't accept it. It was too much for her kind heart. And it breaks mine.
to be honest, she was always crazy, even before she did what she did, her outbursts as a kids were.. not normal, even before the pink sparkle stuff she was like at minimum a bipolar schizophrenic, talking to herself seemingly(talking to those she perceives as being there), seeing things that arent there, her traumas were too much for her and after the last episode, she will never be forgiven by the city more than likely, but jinx was never supposed to be 'good', shes the female joker, her story is traumatic but we become who we truly are because of what happens in our lives and the paths we taken or are lead on, sometimes its tragic but thats okay, if everything was always perfect, we wouldn't have examples of what isn't ideal.
@@OzwellX3 There's evidence she had issues before Silco took her in. She wasn't "crazy," but her mental health wasn't the greatest. In the first scene of the show, the scribbles and scratches appear on the faces of the dead, the same marks that she hallucinates when she's older. She tells Vi "Why did you leave me?" after Vi punches her, indicating her breakdown earlier in the episode was due to feeling abandoned. We see several times how clingy she is with Vi. That's not something that would stand out normally for a child her age, but when you view it in the context of her meltdown, it seems she's way too attached to Vi. And as she grows up, the feelings of abandonment basically define her. She is obsessive about it, as seen in how she reacts to Caitlyn or Silco's monologue about giving her up. I don't think it's much of a stretch at all to say she had abandonment issues, perhaps originating from her parents' deaths, and maybe even mild symptoms of schizophrenia. It just got progressively worse as she aged since Silco enabled her, despite his love for her.
I havent considered getting a soundtrack for a show in over a decade. But I'm just so in love with everything Arcane at the moment! This series is beautiful, Riot. The art style, the effects, the voice work, the soundtrack, the backgrounds...every shot is a masterpiece! I admit to never being interested in the game but this show, man,...its something special. Thank you.

"I can see a tear on my father's face Before it falls (another) on my enemy" I always interpret these tears as being from the enemy crying over the body, rather than her or the father himself. And this fits perfectly in the scene, regardless of whether the enemy mentioned is Violet or Silco. 'Cause they both lost a family member that day and fit the description of enemies.
This will never leave my memory , its so powerful and sad. Still waiting for what S2 has in store for us , i am hoping to hear another masterpiece like this
"There's peace, in water. Like it's holding you. Whispering in low tones to let it in." There is something about this song, and the way the camera pulls out until the last light vanishes, that feels unmistakably like sinking.
I very rarely cry to a song, but every once in a while... there's an exception. Even the choice for this picture. It's not a close up of Vi, of Vander, or Jinx, or any of the characters experiencing trauma : no, it's just a peaceful painting of the harbour, at night, only with the faint glow of the warehouse fire, but it's bloody gut-wrenching because we KNOW what's going on over there, and -oh lord, my heart can't take it. Well done, Riot. This is not just animation, or a game transcription, or whatever you may call it. It's great story-telling. It's pure cinema.
I’ve never played League of Legends and know nothing about these characters backstories but I tip my hat to these people and the musicians for delivering something this deep and quality. I hope they make this an anthology type of series as i would love to see the other champions get this sort of treatment as well with their own seasonal stories arcs
Thats exactly what Riot plan to do with this series. Next season will be probably be focused on different region and champions/characters. My theory is that next season will be about Noxus since they kinda teased it in act 2.

@@ww_artemis I feel like they are gonna connect the regions trough story in season 2. I am pretty certain that we will see more Noxus in the next season considering that Mel might end up dying from that rocket and I doubt her mother is gonna be happy with that.
I like that this song practically goes for ANY kid in Zaun at the time. Not just Powder and Jinx. Sure, Jinx was the cause of mass destruction (if we go back further itd be Ekko for giving the tip. Further back it's Jayce- go back even further, it was Viktor-) But with Vander practically dead and an ongoing war with Piltover- Zaun was in shambles. Every child in Zaun got fucked over cuz their parents were likely relying on the relative peace with Pilties and the respect of the undeeground he'd established- which ended up falling away- making the once safe Last Drop a very dangerous environment.
Hopefully this show get's the recognition it deserves and wins every single award there is. I hope the fact that it's animated doesn't matter and it competes vs live actions too

Indeed. This song paired with the last scene would have been truly epic... in fact it was the song that played in my head during that sequence...
This is the gift of good writing combined with good production value and good acting. Much of what we've been missing in a lot of film and shows the last several years.
You feel the impact of good storytelling to your core.
this song was ending track of ep 3 right not ep 9??
I'm not really a person that pays attention to voice acting. But holy fuck powders voice actors performance in ep3 was absolutely sublime
It was truly amazing. And the Brazilian portuguese dub did it even better.
The only thing we missed in this dub was the "Jinx" meaning, 'cause we don't have a slang for this in portuguese.
@@GJMKauer mano não quero menosprezar a dublagem brasileira, mas a parte da jinx chorando no episódio 3 não tem nem comparação com a dublagem original

It's the first time for me when I like original voiceover. I listened to all countries voiceovers of Arcane, some countries did it pretty well, but nothing can top the English one. Which makes sense because they hired real working actors for the roles, even the Powder actress
I was never really a huge fan of English Voice acting since… most of the time they’re KINDA not good or something
But damn Arcane definitely made me screech
This song hurts more after the end of season 2.

Where is my Friend? The one I've known since I was only just a kid"

Powder’s mistake in episode three was such a punch in the gut.
Jinx’s choice in episode 9 was a shot to the heart.
Damn ADC always has wrong positioning smh

But in essence it wasnt a mistake though. Without her doing that, nothing would have changed. She set in motion a chain of events that led to the uprise of zaun. Of course its not over, but the situation now is so dire that a solution has to be found, the suffering of the people of zaun can no longer be ignored. So innocently she changed everything.

I think you summed the initial experience up better than anyone.

Shiii… I’m not ready for the finale.
You sir have put it brilliantly 👏🏾
Such a believably tragic backstory of her insanity

One of these moments where you desperately grab the remote to switch from "Next episode" to "Watch credits".
Arcane is the literal definition of masterclass. The story-telling, visuals, performances, music, everything is just epic in every sense of the word.
When she was sobbing and crying out i only wanted to help i began tearing up
And when she cried for violet to come back, the way she was sobbing and screaming really matched how unstable her breakdown was, going from a deep "i need you" to a high shrill "VIOLET"
Because yeah, thats how a kid has a serious breakdown, thats what they sound like, not a tantrum, but a breakdown, sobbing so much their body shakes and unable to control their voice when they feel something so intense.

Goodbye Arcane.

From the beginning to 1:15 , this masterpiece is absolutely breathtaking. Goosebump everytime... Its totally gold.
"It worked!" Powder exclaimed, beaming. "Did you see that, Vi? My monkey bomb finally worked!"
Vi turned towards the ecstatic young girl, her eyes shutting and opening wide simultaneously as if trying to wake from a horrible nightmare. "You did this?" she said in a voice barely a whisper. "Why? Why did you do this?"
Powder frowned in confusion.
Please Vi-"
Her vision went white for a moment, and her cheek stung painfully. It took Powder a moment to realize that Vi had punched her, causing her to crumple to her knees on the soot-covered ground. She stared numbly ahead, touching her cheek.
"I told you to stay away!" Vi shouted, and Powder shrank from her sister's wrath. "I told you!"
"Why did you leave me?!" Powder screamed, her voice cracking with emotion, her tears mixing with the spattering rain.
She grabbed Powder's chin so she was looking directly into her eyes, and Powder quivered in terror.
"Because you're a jinx," Vi growled in response. "Mylo was right!"
She could see unfathomable pain in Vi's dark eyes, along with a simmering rage that terrified her.
Please, please..."
Her sister didn't glance back at Powder's pleas, and soon she disappeared into the darkened street.
"Hello, little girl," he said in a warm voice."Where is your sister?"
A strange, violent emotion bubbled within Powder when he mentioned Vi, and she lunged at him with a yell. Her anger almost immediately turned to immeasurable sadness, and she sobbed into his gold-trimmed vest. "She is not my sister! She left me."
She embraced him tightly, just glad for someone to hold on to. After a long moment, she felt a pair of strong arms hugging her back. It felt foreign, yet somehow deeply comforting at the same time.
"It's okay," he whispered fiercely. "We will show them. We will show them all."

She was such a kind soul. I feel Powder was never really able to forgive herself for what happened. She would forever torture herself to bury it deep in her mind.
Everyone else would eventually have forgiven her. But not her. She couldn't accept it. It was too much for her kind heart. And it breaks mine.
Yeah, I think the same way, so tragic!
She was sweet and curious and kindhearted; too much so for a place like Zaun. In a gentler world, I think she would've made it far.
to be honest, she was always crazy, even before she did what she did, her outbursts as a kids were.. not normal, even before the pink sparkle stuff she was like at minimum a bipolar schizophrenic, talking to herself seemingly(talking to those she perceives as being there), seeing things that arent there, her traumas were too much for her
and after the last episode, she will never be forgiven by the city more than likely, but jinx was never supposed to be 'good', shes the female joker, her story is traumatic but we become who we truly are because of what happens in our lives and the paths we taken or are lead on, sometimes its tragic but thats okay, if everything was always perfect, we wouldn't have examples of what isn't ideal.
@@GreyGrim no she wasn't crazy before ur wrong

This song is so breathtaking, 1:40 gives me the biggest chills.
"I can see a tear on my father's face
Before it falls (another) on my enemy"
I always interpret these tears as being from the enemy crying over the body, rather than her or the father himself.
And this fits perfectly in the scene, regardless of whether the enemy mentioned is Violet or Silco. 'Cause they both lost a family member that day and fit the description of enemies.
This will never leave my memory , its so powerful and sad.

I get chills with this song everytime
Nah this show broke me into pieces and i dont easily cry or get sad from movies.
I just finished episode 3 and this is by far one of the best series ive ever seen, its emotional and beautiful...
Goodbye arcane...
Everytime i listen to this song, my brain automatically appears the episode 3 in my head
ME TOO, it's so sad at the ending.. Vander was such a caring man😭😢
@@sandyratuva2637 vander will be back~ Dont worry
@@blank5237 I hope you're right
@@oguzordu3415 haha maybe you should be careful what you wish for
@@blank5237 after being cut apart and turned into a monster
Eine der besten, wenn nicht die beste Serie überhaupt. 😍😍😍
Fakt
Reporting in from 2024. It still hurts
I like that this song practically goes for ANY kid in Zaun at the time. Not just Powder and Jinx.
Sure, Jinx was the cause of mass destruction (if we go back further itd be Ekko for giving the tip. Further back it's Jayce- go back even further, it was Viktor-)
But with Vander practically dead and an ongoing war with Piltover- Zaun was in shambles. Every child in Zaun got fucked over cuz their parents were likely relying on the relative peace with Pilties and the respect of the undeeground he'd established- which ended up falling away- making the once safe Last Drop a very dangerous environment.
I never noticed before, but during last moments with Vander you can actually hear the heartbeat slowing down.
this cannot be described with words what this soundtracks and series gave me. Its one of the best things i've ever watched
we are 2 bro..
@@gutsss98 actually 3
My best friend died around 7 years ago, and this song still hits me hard. It's so simple yet powerful.
Hopefully this show get's the recognition it deserves and wins every single award there is.
I hope the fact that it's animated doesn't matter and it competes vs live actions too
The ending of episode 3 combined with this song is a great impact to the show 10/10🔥
I can hear the sound of a heart beat
Before it goes out
Won't ever leave my memory
Of bloodshed all around
And I can see a tear on my father's face
Before it falls out on my enemy
How could I have ever let you down? Oh
When all these trees' eyes crawl
Cut our teeth and make our bonds right here
And play with shields made of stone
Share our dreams and sit at thrones, be still
'Cause I see smoke up ahead and I got steel in my hands, we will
Return like warriors, I swear, that we'll find glory up ahead
Tell me
Where is my home?
I don't recognize the faces anymore, oh
Where is my friend?
The one I've known since I was only just a kid
*I think* it's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
*Is it* time to say goodbye?
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
It's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, ah
Just pointing out the second line: Before it *goes* out
