It was great to be nostalgic on the video and to see how others were fighting on the pitch, not just me. We met at the petrol station in Pula, and then you really beat me :)

What an outstanding achievement. Congratulations. Loved watching you on a couple of climbs where you were riding with no hands, shooting video, talking with ease while a guy behind you is zig zagging back in forth just trying desperately to keep his pedals turning lol. On another climb, same thing but the guy behind you is clearly struggling and climbing all over his bike like an octopus trying to get just a bit more power to keep moving forward lol. Great stuff on video. I'm happy when I can ride an hour!

Me personally, I would have stopped somewhere at midnight to rest until 5 whereas I was under the impression that you went deep into the dark night and barely took a tiny little nap.

Thank you. In fact I stopped quite early - you normally have to if you want to stay indoors as the guest houses close. So that's why people tend to start again so early in the morning. I stopped about ten and tried to leave again about 4 but couldn't find my bike or the way out of the guest house so that delayed me a bit
Was a great ride, I was a long time around you until the supermarket after the long descent. There I took a longer break and from then on, I didn't see you anymore. Clearly my Mtb hardtail was the better choice at least for first 200 km.

PS: i was the one who took the initiative to design that route detour because of the rally race in Porec hahaha that S3 segment was quite gnarly tho! :P

@Chriswilliams-lx9mx I stayed there aswell. Just found Lake Bled hotels and restaurants a bit more sorted than Lake Bohinj. This was back in 2006 so I'm guessing things have changed now.
Yes your dead right regarding hotels and what not we road our motorbikes to there and then hired mountain bikes,I like the peace and quiet to be honest either way it’s a beautiful country all the best 🚴🏻👍🙏

This race was a blast - so beautiful but hard as well... I was better dressed with a mountainbike and I enjoyed two nights on the track. Saw you at the start and a couple of times on the track - well done pushing through!

Epic 250 mile ride over day 2 days. Noticed on Strava you had a stop in Premantura. Wise move. Worth trying with just a sleeping bag and basic mat for an overnighter. Not heavy and gives a sense of freedom. Don't need all that much sleep over two days, can catch up later.
Yes, I'd like to try something a race using a bivvi and mat. Maybe my next one?

Cor you did well. True Grit. My knees would flair up on the 2nd day with all that. That's my excuse.. have you ever tried komoot. It's supposed to have audio blue tooth turning notifications on routes. I think you are very brave
My knee was unhappy too I"m afraid. I tend to prefer Ride With GPS for nav and they also have that feature

Not sure what you mean, what things? It’s a Lauf fork, perhaps that’s it? They’re quite unusual looking
