Seems like I made a bit of a calculation mistake on this video! Please note that the tool works fine for USD currency pairs, but may not work properly for other markets/pairs. Please keep this in mind.
so what was the mistake lol
Aleast tell us what's the mistake?
@@shanqureshi4344 not for pairs rather than usd
hie nick, why did u devide the quantity figure by 10000. please enlighten me
I think it will work if you just convert the value of USD to the currency of the market you want to trade.
Loved the video Nick! really broke it down how to calculate lot sizes, learned a lot!

THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN I LOVE YOU
Thanks for the video
standard lot size is 100000 not 10000. little correction otherwise pip values will be 10x multiply.
should we always divide it by 100000/ THANKS
Please I need guide
This comment is underrated lol if some one follows nicks method they could be risking 30% not 3% of their account😅
@@GlitchMatrix-bs7ibI just did. So glad I trade a demo alongside my main😭
Thank you so much man just about to risk a lot more than I wanted 😅😅
Thank you for this video
My goodness thank you so much you are indeed a God sent
Why is the quantity always divided by 10,000?
Exactly this where i am still confused
Always Divide by 100000 bcz it's a standard unit
You saved me! Thanks a lot
Great explanation!
Very well done video, Easily explained and easy to understand
Thank You!
hi nick i use this always for my forex, but i also trade cryptos , how can i apply it there ?
there must be a way for getting the nominal coin number to set for each trade
thx
Great video! How about choosing a position size when using leverage? Does it really matter? Let's say I have a strategy where I have a fixed TP (20 pips) and fixed SL (40 pips) and I want to risk 1% per trade. Which leverage should I choose... and how does it impact position size? I guess, I'm missing something here..
do we divide by 10.000 too for XAUUSD pair? or this is for forex only?
Nice one!
But to convert into a microlot of 1000 units, should the conversion be Qty / 1000?
thank you so much brother u got that like and subscribe
The currency in the long tool changes with each currency pair you're on. How do you keep it to your currency
Good job bro
i noticed that you cant set the usd balance on minor pairs e.i pairs without usd...can you help with calculating lot size on those pairs pls
mt4 what and how is there a difference between - the new trade there is the volume --example i put .1 wanting a 1 mini contract but on the terminal the trade is shown size .10 ?
Isn’t it supposed to be divided by 100000 which is 1 lot size?
Hey man just one question. Why need to divide by 10000?
How can we get this sizing tool if we are using MT5, Please help?
Hey Nick... I want to know how leverage plays the role here.
So, whebn creating order, we just simply edit the LOT size which is in default 1? then proceed to trade? thanks.. pls make other videos about it.. iots kina hard to look for such infos reagarding hjow to use this lot size , quantity etc in trading view...The numbers and decimal points are confusing. thanks!
Great video
Thank you
This related it well to what I know
What is the calculation for XAU or Nasdaq kinda things please?
Can you make a video on how to adjust leverage on tradingview with Oanda
its working well with the usd pairs but not other than usd, well i figure out the mistake. when you will use pairs other than the usd , it will give you the lot size according to that currency, for example nzd/jpy so now you will lose according to jpy currency . look at the tool where you are entereing account balance , it will show 1000 jpy instead of 1000 usd
How did you decide you dividing by 10k? What if i divide by 100k?
does it work in futures i dont see pips or qty
Also, once you get that template as you prefer.Go to the cross button and place the trade.Or any of the trade ordering configuration 😊
Remember, that template is just THAT, a template. Now place the order.😊
Hi Nick! Thanks for the great content like always. I have two questions: why we divided by 10000? And what about the risk % and the stop loss distance? If we for example risk 1% and change the stop loss distance by lowering the distance or make bigger is this could change the risk %? I just confuse between the risk % and the stop loss distance. Thanks
I'm confused too man ....gosh man it's really hard to find good knowledge for free here ... Let's keep in touch
same. pls reply if you have figured out
I think it should be divided by 100,000. Because we know that when we enter a lot size we dealling with standard lot which is 100,000 units ( 1 micro = 1000 units , 1 mini = 10,000 , 1 standard = 100,000 ), so for example if it's 2000 units you will put in a lot size box 0.02 because we will divided it by 100,000 and it seems logically. and for your next question I think if you change your stop loss the units will change to fit exactly to your risk percentage that you are already putted, so the risk % would never go up or down than you put. { Note that I'm still beginner and I've never traded yet }

Just when I needed a video to explain this, you come out with it!When you join Oanda, do you automatically get premium trading view features or would I still have to buy trading view premium?
When u open an Oanda account all you have to do in trading view is login into your account and that's it. There's a dash button to click on at the bottom of the right hand side of your trading view page When you click that look for oanda and login
@@lanabhowram2268 thanks, so when I login to Oanda, my trading view automatically is upgraded to premium?
@@roryc7461 I don't think so in order to get premium you have to pay
How would you do this if you are scalping the 5 minutes time frame ? By the I do all the calculations to get the lot size to take the trade the candel has already moved.
Did you get the answer bro? Please help
does this work for us30 as well
If i wanna know how much units i could buy/sell costing me x% of my account, how could i find that quantity?
so in trading view it seems that I cant adjust lot size lower than one. Im confused I'm sure I'm doing something wrong
Where can i change Lot size please,
Nice one Nick. Never noticed tradingview long and short tool could be so useful !
why dont i see any pips or qty?
Hey if Im doing scalping , this is a complete shit, how do you direct trade with the propper lot size like metatrader5?
Where and how do you use the lot size? Anyone can help, thanks
great video
Why did you not do the examples for oforeigtn pairs if your account is in a dufferent currency>
when calculating lot size using QTY/units, shouldn't it be divided by 100,000, considering 1 lot or 1 standard lot is 100,000? Meaning the example of 3749 qty actually equates to 0.03749 lots?
hi Nick i found out that the qty is diffrent in some other currency pair. different lot when divide with 10.000, (need to be divide with 100.000 to get the correct amount of lot size)
which pairs has to be divided by 100 000? Jpy pairs with two decimals?
do this work for usoil wti?
amazing video nick. but i think there is an error bcs on google it shows 1 standard lot is equals to 1,00,000 units but here you mentioned 10,000 units
how do you get it on MT5?
Im experiencing something really odd. When ever I place the long positon stool on the chart, no matter what position I take the quantity shows in about 9-10 digits. It seem something is wrong and I don't know why its so big, compared to say a 3 digit number, and how do I use this large number to calculate lot size? Why is so large? I've also noticed it doesn't seem to matter what my risk it, it's still 9-10 digits long or longer.
Forex calculator (app or pc)
How do u buy 3700units with $1000 account balance? I hv seen many videos of ppl saying that u can’t put the trade if ur lot size is bigger than the account balance
do you have any videos showing how you trade on TV with Oanda linked? I need some more examples lol
do you also have videos covering pairs offered on Oanda? I know the regular currency and foreign pairs are on there but I have also seen online that CFDs are available, yet I can not find them?
ruclips.net/video/-NiFIzuH8HU/видео.html&ab_channel=TraderNick Yes! Here you go. If you feel inclined, please feel free to use my signup link in the description!
why do you divide by 10,000?
How do i know how much im spending on a buy or sell? Its very confusing. Its not like bitcoin where i can enter $300 worth of bitcoin..
so on the account size, do we add a zero? because the account size is 1000, but your putting 10,000
Can someone help me figure out the formula for calculating lot sizes, I need it for my excel, I’m back testing and I want it to calculate my lot size automatically after putting my entries, SL and TP
i dont know if i missed up something about a the 10, 000 you divided the quantity, i got lost there, since i didnt know where this 10, 000 was comming from, again, maybe i lost something
The TV position calculator doesn't give consideration to account leverage.
0.37 lot is not 1.5% risk on a 1k acc that’s 15% risk. $3.75 x 40 pips = $150 risk
He made a mistake. On the buy tool he put in 1k but then he divided 3750 by 10000 and got 0.375 which is 150 which would be 1.5% of 10000 6:22
how would I calculate lot size on my calculator if contract size is 10 on hankotrade? Can anyone assist me on this
Is Account size including leverage? Eg. $100 account with 100:1 leverage
This is just more confusing lol
can anyone explain where the 10000 came from. he only calcuates and leave use hanging with this important detail.
You have to divide by 100,000, not 10,000, right?
a lot size of 0.2 on gbpusd with a stop loss of 49 pips is alot more of a loss than 1% of the balance in fact is around 7%
I wish someone would make videos for people who aren’t complete beginners
Why divide by 10000 please?
I guess it is not 0.37 lot size rather it will be 0.03 lot size...because 0.37 means 37000 quantity and not 3700 quantity... As 1 lot means 100000 contract and 0.1 means 10000 quantity and 0.01 means 1000 quantity if I m not wrong then please correct me if I am...
U r rit, I guess they have different rules. & regulations, or I think he calculated as per mini lots (10000 units per lot)
i thought too. should be 0.03.. have you figured it to be right? thanks
What does 0.20 = in dollars?
Why do you divide the units by 10 000
Why did you divide by 10,000?
What techniques did you use when you started trading? And how long have you been trading?
I believe he has been trading for about 5 years plus judging from the age of the channel
Guys u have to devide QTY by 100000 ,not 10000. he did a mistake.
Because 1 lot =100000 units.
Why divide by 10,000?
not working in xauusd :/
its good but some pairs need to be divided by 100000
