This is the first video of several, and I mean so many videos that I saw that honestly spoke about rust issues. Everyone makes it seem so easy to maintain and set up every year. I, myself, am thinking of buying a plastic one. Great video.
I saw another video where they make stock tank poolthey're kind of like plastic perfect for the water so they don't get busted out since they start to become popular for pools some type of company in Texas
About to go through this installation myself. How did you cut holes in the liner to allow the pump connects to move through? I was thinking of just using an exacto, but am scared of ruining the liner or allowing water to leak inside to the metal tank and allow for rust to fester.
Two years in we had the same rust issue. I used a grinder with a wire wheel and removed all rust. Then applied two coats of self etching primer thinking I would then use Pond Shield. But I instead took the Pond Shied back and bought a liner which cost $200 on AMZ (about the same amount I'd have spent on Pond Shield). Hoping to install the liner tomorrow. Any tips for that installation? I didn't understand why you were filling it before fitting the pump intake and outlet..? Instead of the zip ties I bought a 1/2" x 30' blue strap also on AMZ.
Daniel King you could take pool noodles and glue (Silicon) them down inside the pool edge (on the bottom) where the metal is so that it helps protect the liner from the sharper metal edges. that would help prevent the liner from tearing with use
I have a 9 ft tank. Same deal, I've figured the only way to stop this is a liner. Anyone have any luck with finding 9ft.? I'm debating getting a 10 ft and going from there?
How do you find a sand system that works well with a 100 gallon pool? I talked to some folks in the swimming pool business and they said that would be a very ineffective system running a 1000 gallons an hour through 75 gallons of water. The pool will hold a 100 gallons of course but not very usableat that volume.

First time I saw a real and honest "2-year-update" video regarding the galvanized stock tank pools. Thank you, Sir.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, we're moving into a new house that includes a stock pool but it doesn't have a liner, we'll def be getting one of these.
Smartest person yet , a simple cheap pool liner Use a kids pool from Walmart or an 8 ft blowup pool liner and trim to make it fit .

Buy polytanks if you can. I got my 10' polytank used for $60 plus I offered him $40 to deliver it. Your lining looks great, too!
I put a similar liner in my 18 foot above ground pool it is now in its 3rd year amd works great
dang - cant find that pool liner...they are so expensive on amazon. hows yours holding up for the $70?
will you be posting a part 2? I would love to see it fully set up.
Yes. Hopefully by the end of the week.
Would love to know the process you go through for applying silicon to seal it up. We are about to go through the same process

a ratchet strap thing ?
you have a link to the strap ?
use peroxide for stock tank pools, not chlorine
i would add some a dam around the bottom edge of the pool, this will keep your liner from ripping if there is a rough spot in the tanks metal
add some a dam ?

What type of hole saw did you use to cut the holes?
Where did you find the liner. You said you would add a link but we don’t see it

What size is your stock tank, I did not see a liner for an 8ft round stock tank. Any help is appreciated thank you
8ft. After I posted the video it looks like they removed it from online for ordering. It may still be available over the phone. Not sure.
Any luck ? Also looking for this. Do you have any name of the brand it was packaged in ? Thanks !! Can’t wait for the updates !!
@@christaboudreaux6687 I found a smart line 8ft above ground pool liner on Amazon. Hoping this will do the trick it was 179.00 so pricey
FYI my pool liner is amazing
Anyway u can post the link. I searched Amazon but only found 12ft the smallest
If you use a sand filter system and not chlorine the tank shouldn't corrode/rust.

@@Baumeister40 this stock tank is way more than 100 gallons. It’s probably closer to 800 gallons.
What do you do to winterize?
What are you using to hold the top of the liner?
What's the website?
Where did you get the liner

shows back in stock now!
I don't see any 6-8ft round liners.
Check out Amazon the smart line brand has an 8ft liner. The cost is 179.00 so there is no savings. Measure twice cut once🤞
I think they sold out online. So far mine is working well.
