      Australian Sprintcar Fan here. Yeah, we have a whole cadre of young fellahs over here who're "Dad's money" driver's, and a number of them are second, third or even fourth generation "up-'n-commers", most of whom have all the best of equipment, but none of the talent of their Dad's and Granddads.
      But the style of racing you're talking about, with this "all or nothing" "they owe me because of my surname" kind of attitude, unfortunately starts to creep in, and these "racing incidents" begin to take place, where when the young blokes great equipment just COULDN'T make up for the lake of talent or opportunity, things like this started to happen in ever growing numbers.
      The "Slamming Sammy Swindell" mindset (who'd toured Australia on a number of occasions, going back to the very early 1980s) but didn't really indulge himself with it down under, not that I ever saw anyway, but yeah that kind of "it's mine, it's all mine, mine, mine" like it's a video game or something, and the consequences of making moves like this are just "a jumble of pretty pixels on a screen", and it's real live, living and breathing people and not just the loss of "someone else's equipment", just over indulged little sh'its really.

      @@frenzalrhomb6919 it's the same here in the states. I was a 4rh generation racer, but I did it on my own with my own money. I had to learn how to be fast, consistent and win, all while taking care of my equipment. I could buy many parts, I had to make a lot of them. I set up my own car and fixed my own car. It will make you appreciate your equipment when your own labor is what keeps you on track. If I had to spend time fixing the car, I wasn't spending time making it faster.

      Alot of Tracks in New England are doing this now. Although this one wouldnt of sent then to the hauler to the back was fair. By the sounds and looks of what was said in the end i think it was more a racing deal. Leader likely didnt know the run was coming and 2nd thought ehy were close enough to not have to back off. Obviously i know some tracks and series do differently. Up in New England we dont have much Dirt just Asphalt and they beat the living shit out of eachother sometimes. Most tracks have began enforcing strong rules with retaliation and stuff along the lines of Intentional. Obviously accidents happen but with the expenses of this sport in all diciplines its the right call to try and keep this sport we all love alive and well for the ones with less money as long as possible while we still try to recover from Covid Financially.

      parking them isn’t the answer. They’ll just go to the next track down the road that will let them race. The answer is for them to get touched by fists a few times so they actually think about consequences.
      EDIT: How the hell did the driver get concussed? If he gets concussed that easily, prob shouldn’t be racing.

  • @invaderdag711
    @invaderdag711 Год назад +12

    if you go for an overtake, in most racing, the passing car has to adapt to the lead car and follow his rhythm to find a place to overtake. If you got a good run out of the corner and came up fast on the car in front, it is up to the driver to adjust and not crash into the lead car. i've seen other racing events, like IMSA GT, Miata cup, and others where officals reviewed footage and decided that it would be either a stop and go penalty or just add 5 seconds to the time after race finish (eg. lap time of 1:40 becomes 1:45, come the checkered flag that could move you from 1st to 8th or lower depending on how close the cars are). it was fair to move the car at fault to the back of the pack, but the driver should be warned not to do it again. Suspension if it happens again, if that dont work he gets the boot from the league.

  • @David-uu1oj

    That sucks actually and it's not "just racing". These two racers were the stronger cars and out on the rest of the field. That was an opportunity to build a trust with another driver for at least five more laps but that's long gone now.
    There was a Good probability for another opportunity at a restart to take the lead.

    Unfortunately this is what racing has come to. Its the new normal. It used to be a little rubbing here and there, maybe throw a wicked slider at a driver if they are really being an ass, but turning a guy into the outside is just reckless no matter the situation. No patience, no courtesy, just checkers or wreckers these days. Whether its dirt, pavement, fenders, or none.

    What's missing from most short track racing is suspensions ! When I started racing we got sent home and suspended for the next week too for rough driving! If race officials want to be officials they need to be unbiased. "Oh, we're giving his spot back cause he spun to miss the yellow" WTF kinda BS is that. HE NOW IS PART OF THE YELLOW IDIOTS! Stop on the track go to the back ! There is no grey area there that's as black & white as it gets ! #5 sent to the back ? That #5 needed to be Black Flagged and sent home for 2 weeks ! I'm sick of favorable calls.

    Glad Bradley is ok. You really have to take concussions seriously. We'll have to take you word he was hit because it is tough to say that with certainty from this video (for me anyway), plus it seems like an odd direction for the rear to go if hit by another car with a good run off the last corner. Good hard racing though. I watched a similar class out here on the left coast last year at Kern County Raceway Park west of Bakersfield California - pretty exciting class.

    Old school here, I raced mx,& dirt roundy round, It doesn't matter what you think.... If he bumped you from behind you We're not the fastest car on the track.
    Edit: It's obvious you are Riding the cushion, when your car is set up to run there, It's the quickest way around the track.
    The boy that bumped you from behind, It appears he was set up to run the cushion, And if this is the case, any attempt, To change lines, Would have slowed him down, If he attempted a pass, The mature, Professional, And the safeway to do this, Is to stay on your Bumper, And hope for a mistake by you, Otherwise,he should be penalized for getting into to you.
    Racing Is a psychological chess match, If you ever feel it's O k to take out your opponent, You are risking life and limb, And boys is just not worth it, Always try To live to race another day, It's very hard to improve, If you d n f, Are get black flagged.

    At 2:14 you can see the #5 car drive into the side of the "car with the camera" after bumping him twice wasn't enough to shove them out of the way. He clearly did the same at the end of the race and caused a high speed crash into the wall. If he really did have a "great run off the corner", he could have dove inside for a pass, instead he took the chickenshit way out and crashed him. The fact he was sent to the back of the field shows the officials saw it the same way. This guy needs a stern talking to by race officials and if continues to drive like this, banned before he kills somebody.

    Ya probably a dick move.
    Question though.... Why did the driver decide to go up top? Looked good on the bottom. Went to the top. longer way around and kept on getting on the rev limiter. Did the bottom go away?

      My guess is that when the yellow came out while he was running the bottom, the 2nd place car showed him the front of his car. So he probably went to the top to try to defend the faster line?

    Theres racing and there’s dirty racing. This was dirty racing no doubt. Hes a good driver he knows how to make respectful passes and this was not it. He was being disrespectful the whole race but i guess thats what happens when you just get to jump in a car and race and don’t have to pay to replace it. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

    It is quite obvious that anyone that gets behind the wheel of a car to go racing feels like they are Dale Earnhardt (not junior) the only real Earnhardt is #3. The rest of these "wannabees" should reevaluate their worth in life. Anyone that intentionally wrecks another driver should be banned from the sport!

    Well, honestly, you didn’t come out of the corner well that time and then you backed out midway down the straight. I’m sure 2nd expected you to stay hooked up. Whether that synths car getting loose coming off the corner or driver error on your part who knows but you. It’s hard to navigate behind when that happens.

      It's a hard call especially on dirt where your constantly up on the wheel. The wall cost$ racers in a sport that gobbles up ones funds just to get there.
      When your being hit you often forget when you've delivered the hit. The other driver will find this out🤫

      @@sneezinhatch That's the problem with the world of racing now. Rubbing is not racing, if you have to be a coward to wreck someone to win, maybe you need to go test more and figure out how to actually out drive someone. Instead of just taking them out, because you wasn't better than them.

    • @reflexraceproductions7168
      @reflexraceproductions7168  Год назад

      Hello Jesse, I know we don't show it, but that "spin" put the driver into the wall and junked the rear of the car. Also, we were sent a picture of the car after it was taken apart, and there was frame damage to the front and rear of the car.... Although the crash didn't look "terrible" it tore up a lot of things & definitely could of caused a minor concussion.
      Thanks !
