This isn’t the first time Barbie has done RBD dolls, you might be able to find some of the original dolls! I had one when i was younger and they were gorgeous, and this was before the pixelation!
I remember RBD and the "Rebelde" telenovela used to be very popular here in Brazil in the 00's. I bought some of their records back in the day. I don't think the dools looks a lot like then, especially The guys
I saw the prototype photos for these dolls. Didn't recognize the group, so I didn't look further into them. Also me looking at the faces "Oh. It's Teresa!" ❤
You're only paying for the name, Froggy. Other than that, the RBD dolls should be priced as the fashionistas. Not the price of Barbie Extra. They don't come with accessories just the clothes on themselves. Plus, for $99 dollars, the 2 men in the RBD pack should have rooted hair not sculpted. And a little more movement.

Got the golden girly trio and they're expected to arrive by next week and I have to confess: I am dreading it. I mean, I have the 2007 dolls and while I do know about the sleeveless tops and all... the difference in quality is massive. The 2007 ones are way superior in all aspects but one (The hobbit body. The Mia doll I got became one legged shortly after I purchased her at the time of release. Roberta still hung onto her leg a little longer, but in the end, the issue was virtually the same. When I finally got the Lupita doll, I immediately got the MTM donor), but I still wanted the new dolls anyway. Specially when I'm actually getting to see the telenovela from the start and also on next week, a local streaming service will make the third season available. In the end, despite not having the guys, there will be six rebels sharing the dreamhouse with the Perfect day Barbie anyway.
There were Barbie RBD dolls when I was a kid, I had the original version of Mia. They were so beautiful! Edit: I think I’m gonna pick these up, it’s nostalgic for me!
For how much longer will fans be supporting the pixel facescreening issue and justifying it? If other brands can produce fabulous dolls for less than the price of a Barbie, so can Mattel. Collectors and children deserve beautiful Barbies... When 80% of releases are full of crackle nail polish looking pixels, there's something seriously wrong. Also, no, the price is unreasonable for such basic, stiff Fashionista bodies. Where's the articulation? The Kens can't even hold a microphone. 😢
I preordered the Mia doll and when it arrived the face screening was also quite pixelated. To swap mine I used the MTM boxer and they matched pretty well.
They should have at least put more articulation into these dolls kinda like a Barbie Extra doll for $25. I love Barbie but I’ve been getting so upset one,, the price and two the quality.. you need to buy 2 dolls to get what you want,, and Mattel knows this, they are taking advantage of us collectors

RBD is definitely the biggest Mexican pop band ever and also in latin history, it's so amazing to see this new barbie collection, I still have my RBD barbie collection from 2007 and now to have a new one in 2024 is just awesome. Those look are inspired by the singers and not the characters from the tv telenovela but because of a legal thing barbie couldn't release the dolls with their real names. For those who'd like to know, their names in real life are: Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christopher Uckermann and Christian Chávez, missing Poncho Herrera who didn't come back for the reunion. In my opinion these dolls are so incredible, I would've loved for the faces not to be pixelated but that's not a real issue to me since I'm so in love with these dolls.
Ugh, RBD. Yes, a Mexican Telenovela titled "Rebelde" (Rebel in Spanish) that had a musical group...and prove to be so succesful that they decided to really turned them into a musical group. RBD are the "initials" for Rebelde in Spanish. You know, to make it cool.
It was a huge hit in Brazil too, I was young (9 or 10) and didn't pay too much attention to it, but the teens loved!! The only problem was a lot of girls wanted to be skinny Mia, or bratty Roberta. So you know, it wasn't a positive impact on the girlies. And some parents wouldn't allow their girls to watch because it was "inappropriat". Some of the relationships there was wayyy toxic and normalized. I know this because huge channels that I watch on brazilian pop culture and some nostalgic deep dives from that time, made a recap and the problems that were glorified, know that we know better horrifyes us know. To simplify, It was mexican Euphoria lol

Well, I don't know a lot about Xuxa. My mom didn't have a problem with either of the shows, nor Xuxa or RBD, she allowed my sister to watch both. I really don't understand why Xuxa would be problematic lol.
Hi Toya! I recommend you to get the first dolls from 2007. Theyre usted to be prettier and with a higher quality . There's a mia, Lupita and Roberta single box. A two pack with mía and Miguel, Roberta and Diego and Lupita with Giovanni. The third wave Is the three girls with concert outfits. With more quality as much in the clothes as in the bodies ( clicky legs)
What is wrong with Mattel😢 for that price we expect better! The dolls are nice Mia would be stunning if not for that awful pixilated screen, and the outfits are so flimsy like the tall boots they come with but 😢 tut tut Mattel do better 😒 I recently got the Barbie looks doll and she's so pretty, well rooted and not pixilated, love her. I ordered the 5 pack like 6 months ago. Saw that Lina face mold & the other 2 rare face molds, super cute outfits & boots & knew I had to have them. I also love Looks #1 ( my mini me ) & regret not getting 2...so I did the same as you, got 2 of the new blonde Looks Lina's and 2 of the Andra red head too. Just in case ....lol.
If you look at pictures of Mia wearing that outfit in concert her skirt isnt denim, it's just blue so they made a change for the better. That pixelated screening is unfortunate.

I wanted the single dolls so bad when I first saw them, but missed out 😫 and now they’re ridiculously priced in the second hand market 😖 but I’m determined to get them and the multi doll set at a decent price at some point ☺️ Hopefully, sooner than later ✨💖😉💖✨
In the UK, this set is around £167 and individual Mia is around £144 just for ONE doll. Can entirely say this is a no from me. It's such a shame as Mia from the pack and Roberta are my favourite. I hadn't heard of RBD until I watched this video!
I sent my Lupita doll back (disappointed); after the long wait and anticipation .. 😂😂😂 There will be more dolls to buy I will make my own school uniform jackets .. 👍🏽✅

The quality on Barbie clothes is so bad nowadays, I can’t get over it. Ken dolls have the same boring shoes, paper thin pants and cheap printed on details. None of these price points made sense to me.
I think the best match for MIA is the Made To Move color block with blue top…… I got mine…. Also Fashion Avenue has plenty of denim fashions…. Also the Barbie Basics 2.0 collection had an ample Jean collection that goes well with the blazer and tops….
Out of curiosity, how do you know what the face sculpts are called? Is there a website you learned what each face sculpt is named? Also I think you can turn the two Mia’s into the Olsen Twins! They just remind me of how they look now! 🤩
On Mattel creations for the Barbie looks dolls , they the list the sculpt in the description then I just try to recognize them when I see them on other dolls , however sometimes I don’t always get it right 😅
