One of the best channels on youtube. A treasure. In an age of hot debate, insane politics, and social unrest...we all need a quite and peaceful walk through the countryside with an erudite gentleman and his canine companion, learning about the area as you go. A great channel, Dave. It really is.
Good evening Dave yet another fantastic video very enjoyable I have been past Corfe Castle many times but never stopped to have a look and take a walk I do recommend a trip on heritage railway thank you looking forward to the next video Craig
Thanks Craig. Yes, Logan & I have just filmed a walk from Corfe to Swanage and then back to Corfe on the steam railway (Logan's first time on a train!). The video will be out later in the year.
Thanks Dave and Logan for taking us along on your wonderful well presented walks. I grew up locally and your walks are a nice trip down memory lane for me. Steve
What a glorious day! You're going to ruin England's reputation for bad weather, showing it off like this! Thank you for your devotion and passion in creating these lovely walks with Logan and Fiver. You are a gem on RUclips and its thrilling to see more and more people find you, subscribe and also enjoy your videos. Well Done Dave and Logan and Fiver, too 🐾🐾
Our family lived in Lingston for some /5 years back in the sixties through to the mid eighties. Great times growing up there. Encombe house was a overly old property later sold off I believe. Happy Days and Memories. Thank you for this nostalgic Video.
Thank you Christopher. Logan & I talked about Encombe House when we passed through the Estate on our Chapmans Pool video walk ruclips.net/video/fgycuem_R98/видео.html
A really fantastic video, putting in all these historical facts puts an additional interest in the walk. Also, these videos do a service for people who cannot get out and about. Thankyou.
Hi Dave and Logie, we have just come back from two amazing weeks in the New Forest and Dorset. We did so many of your walks - Lymington, Bank, Linford, West Bay, Burley, Hale, Milton Abbas and Abbey, Kimmeridge Bay, Wilverley Enclosure, Corfe Castle, Cerne Abbas. They were all amazing, it’s hard to pick a favourite as they were all such lovely places. Milton Abbas was incredible - we think we saw that you signed the visitors book in the church. So a huge thank you for all your videos which helped us make our holiday so brilliant. Your videos are amazing, we love them so much. We so hoped we would bump into you and Logan. One place we did love that we are not sure if you’ve done a video on was the Tall Trees trail above Brockenhurst. Would love to watch you do a video there some day. Enjoy the rest of the summer : )
Thank you Carlton. Sounds like you had a great holiday - you certainly packed a lot in! Yes, we have done a video on the "Tall Tree Trail" - although it was one of our first ones & the editing wasn't that great. All the best. Dave & Logan. Here is the link to the "Tall Trees Trail" video : ruclips.net/video/rBHCSjNzXVs/видео.html
Dave and Logan....you are both an inspiration! Sitting in my living room on a small island in Washington State (Orcas Island) I keenly watch many of your videos...this walk to Corfe Castle we will also do this September...following, as best we can, in your footsteps! Thank you so very much for the informative, and thoroughly enjoyable videos!!
Many thanks Dave and Logan that is such a wonderful area, holds memories of camping at Wareham. I think the old machines might be apple crushers, there would have been a hopper on the top and the apples crushed by turning the wheel would fall into a trough then shovelled up on the cider press. Take care,
Another lovely walk, thank you. I don’t know whether you are aware that Corfe Castle was the inspiration for Kirrin island in Enid Blyton’s Famous Five books. The author had many holidays in Dorset (up to three a year) and owned Manor Farm at Stourton Caundle near Sturminster Newton, which she would visit when in the area. This farm was the inspiration for the Famous Five book ‘Five on Finniston Farm’.
Excellent film Dave. Some friends and I recently stayed in Swanage and went on a guided tour of Corfe Castle, during which we learnt how to perform a medieval dance! Stunningly beautiful scenery. England at it’s absolute best. Loved the doggy gate! 🐕🐾🦴
Lovely walk thank you Dave and Logan. Another walk close by Kingston is the 'Golden Bowl' which goes down to Chapman's Pool. Scott Arms does a wonderful tuna sandwich with salad and offers fantastic views to Corfe Castle.
Thank you Dave, such a beautiful walk in one of my favourite places - made me quite envious! Have you ever considered joining the National Trust, then the entrance to these places would be free.
Beautiful walk Dave. I’ve been to the castle many times in my life and can even remember when parking was free! Not so familiar with Kingston though, but it certainly looked a lovely village. There is a lot of history around Corfu Castle, as you rightly pointed out. I believe they used gunpowder to blow the walls up, which is why huge sections are lying halfway down the bank. Thanks for showing us on a glorious day.
Another great walk Dave, thanks. Have you considered doing a walk around Old Wardour Castle, another ruin from the Civil War? Just over the "border" in Wiltshire but still in Cranborne Chase and steeped in atmosphere! Best Wishes John
Super interesting video. I am behind with my you tube viewing as I took a holiday in Dorset recently staying for 3 days in Poole, 4 days in Lyme Regis and one day in Lymington on my way back. Got into Devon for a couple of walks too. Logan looked like he was drinking in all that history! I admire all the research you do. I think that is what make your videos quite special. And Logan !!
Thanks Jean. I have got a video walk at Lyme Regis coming out later in the Summer as well as one that went from Corfe Castle to Swanage (and back by steam train!). Cheers. Dave.
@@DaveFord I will look out for that one. I walked the coastal path both sides of Lyme from West Bay to Beer and also did an inland walk on Wessex Ridgeway / Monarch's Way via Hole Common and Wootton Fitzpane. Some of waymarking was a bit sketchy in places!
Thank you Cathy. Logan is seven years old. Yes, I always carry water for him when out on walks - he even has his own collapsible water bowl! Thanks for watching.
Thank you Ray. I use Videopad. Whilst technically you can use it for free, I found that 20% of the time when you finished & started to export the video, the software wouldn't go further unless you bought it. So I ended up buying the software (they just send you a code!) for £70 & I now have it for ever. They produce a series of mini tutorials on video (youtube) on various aspects (ie how to add a picture) which makes it easy for the novice just starting. The editing software itself can be a bit "clanky" at times but it does all the basics and everything that I need for my videos. I believe that Davinci Resolve (which is also free) is better & more advanced but I am so used to Videopad I will probably stick with that. I film all my videos in 4K which does produced big files but I think it is worth the effort - especially if folk are watching HD on their TV screens. Cheers. Dave.
@@DaveFord Hi Dave, thanks for the info i will try it. Fyi My late wife and i now live in Australia and your videos brought her (and me) a lot of pleasure during her final few months. She was from Dibden Perlieu / new forest so really enjoyed seeing places she had been to, let alone finding out so many interesting facts she never knew. They were of comfort for us both. Keep up the great work mate.

beautiful walk in the countryside to Colfe Castle

Another wonderful video Dave & Logan showing our country, our England at its best. ❤️ Thank you for sharing.
Thanks. It is such a historical castle and it is great that there is still a fair bit of it left to explore!
Excellent film Dave.

Thanks Mike. Now I would have paid good money to see your "Medieval Dance"!
Lovely walk thank you Dave and Logan. Another walk close by Kingston is the 'Golden Bowl' which goes down to Chapman's Pool.
Scott Arms does a wonderful tuna sandwich with salad and offers fantastic views to Corfe Castle.
Thanks Al. I think that the view of Corfe Castle from the Scott Arms is one of the best "pub garden" views in Dorset for sure!
Just wow!! 😍 Nice!! New friend here!
Thank you.
lovely walk Dave and with the history of Corfe Castle very interesting
Thanks Josephine and indeed thank you for watching.
this is super nice! So Cool! plus 1 fan here! 😍
Thank you.
Great video Dave. Shame the chem trails spoilt the beautiful sky. Keep them coming please.
Thank you.
Beautiful Church
It certainly is impressive!
Another lovely walk. Thank you. How come the sun always shines for you?😉
The sun always shines on DCW!
Great video Dave. I've sat in the beer garden of that pub in Kingston looking over towards Corfe. An idyllic place for a pint!👌
Thanks Mark. Certainly a "pub with a view" for sure!
Thank you Dave, such a beautiful walk in one of my favourite places - made me quite envious! Have you ever considered joining the National Trust, then the entrance to these places would be free.

Thanks Lionel. Yes, it is a great place for an exploration - so much history there.
The difference between walking with a Whippet and a Working Cocker,my girl would be going nuts in the undergrowth, nose pressed to the ground😂
Logan is a good lad ...... but when a squirrel turns up then ......!
Another great walk Dave, thanks. Have you considered doing a walk around Old Wardour Castle, another ruin from the Civil War? Just over the "border" in Wiltshire but still in Cranborne Chase and steeped in atmosphere! Best Wishes John
