Bruce Prichard said that Jeff was fine before the match. Then he disappeared and got high and they found him just as the match was starting. The v.i.p's were having a discussion about what to do when Jeff walked out when his music was playing while they had their backs turned. Then they told Bishoff to go tell Sting and the ref to just end it asap.
I remember this Raw, i thought it was one of the best in recent memory. I gotta disagree with the Acolyte segment though. That was the first time Ron Simmons and Bradshaw broke out of the strong zombie like enforcer gimmick and started developing what would become the APA gimmick. IIRC Bradshaw said something like “I’ve proven I can out drink you, don’t make me prove I can outfight you.” This was the first time these two were able to show personality on the show and it worked. I think we might have even gotten our first “Damn!” out of it. Based on the context of their character development, I move that down should be changed to an up.
I just have to say quickly, This is one of my favorite intros to retro ups and downs. The “I did not expect to be reviewing random episodes of Raw” absolutely kills me
Wrestlemania 12! The Hollywood Backlot Brawl between Roddy Piper and Goldust (who was amazing back then) and the Iron Man match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels are two of my favorite matches.
Meh, the segment with everyone and Shawn is still one of my guilty pleasures. To be fair I take nothing serious in wrestling or entertainment. It’s supposed to be silly to a degree. Lol
Oh no, the WWE has changed quite a lot! All you have today is non sense, insanely boring storylines, overproduced crap, non stop recaps and replays and there’s no “bigger than life” wrestlers anymore either! Today’s WWE is pure crap and it has absolutely nothing to do with how the ATTITUDE era or even the Ruthless Aggression era were!

Id love for WWE to do a retro show but instead of having the legends in matches make the current talent cosplay in legend's full gimmicks. New matches or recreate the old ones.

I used to record Raw on my vhs player every Monday or Tuesday for us in the UK. I watched this Episode after school and thought that it was so good that I removed the little black tab which means that you can’t record over it. I labels the VHS as ‘beat raw ever!!!’ I had no idea that this was the highest rated episode ever.
VHS! Classic & cool story. I had to frickin wait for weeks to get original VHS tapes of In Your House from the UK because they never showed them in SA. 1st one I ever got was Good Friends Better Enemies. Luved the main event.
I’m dead at the part when he said about HBK and he was a security guard and ripped his close off and just started grinding because that’s just what he used to do
Something that isn't mentioned about the evening gown match is that it was done because of the Sable lawsuit. There was an agreement in place that she would not be made to compete physically while the lawsuit was being heard. As a result this was how they got the title of her without having her compete. They also pulled a similar trick on a UK PPV this same week.
I’m glad you did these. Everyone thinks the attitude era was all great stuff. There was a lot that sucked. The only thing that elevated it was that the good stuff was absolutely great.

Putting my hat in the ring for Great American Bash 1988.
