There's a reason why London, Paris and Los Angeles hosted the Summer Olympics three times: money, facilities and infrastructure.
I will never understand how NYC has never hosted an Olympics in history.
They tried 2012 but they lost.
They have the capacity, they have plenty of infrastructure. The only structures that would have to be built would be the athletes village and a atheltics stadium +/- aquatics stadiums, these buildings can be really expensive and NYC is the costliest city for construction. That can cause some eyerolls especially when NYC doesnt need the olympics to put itself on the map.
@@ChrisPerez-dj5pn Out of the three things you mentioned, only the Olympic stadium would need to be built. The NYC metro area has NYU, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Columbia University, all in the heart of downtown to serve as the villages for the athletes and media. Using college campuses as villages is nothing new. LA, Atlanta, and Salt Lake all did the same thing. And Nassau County already has an aquatics center. Plus, MetLife Stadium has a horrible reputation, so the NYC area is probably going to be getting a new stadium sooner rather than later anyway. Might as well get ballsy and make it a multipurpose Olympic stadium like the Stade de France.
"Two thousand twenty eight" i think by then we'll be saying the more efficient and traditional 20-28.
I never noticed that
I will still say it as "two thousand twenty eight".
traffic is gonna be a bitch
In 1984 traffic actually came down, and LA didn't Metro then. Logistics will come into play, they will synchronize transportation for those 2 weeks.....it's only 2 weeks man.
Exactly. People forget that. It's just two weeks.
I hope I am alive in 2028
wtf 2028???? Dude I'm going to have a hectic career by that time ill probably have a get and a wife my life is gunna be over by that time
Imaginary Player real shit bruh
Imaginary Player I'll 31 by then
Invite your wife
How's that going nearly 4 years later? 🤣🤣
I'll be there
LA28 MAKES SENSE FOR THE OLYMPICS!
I wish Atlanta (who have host the previous Olympics Games back in 1996) host the 2028 Olympics Games.
I was thinking the same thing. They need to start only accepting cities that have the infrastructure to run the games. Yes its cool to see all those stadiums and venues they built for other games but most are rundown or cost a fortune to renovate into something else. LA 1984 did the right thing and hopefully they do it again so the IOC sticks to places that can afford it and now send other countries economies spiraling.
Me too. I want Atlanta to host the Olympics once again. They can use Mercedes-Benz Stadium to host the opening and closing ceremonies.
@@jermainesimmons2944 I agree.
So do I.
I'm amazed that NYC has never hosted. They're more prepared than ever today.
@@gabetalks9275 sometimes I wish it did.
Years ago, I thought that New York City would be next to host.
But that's impossible.
And for some reasons, the residents just don't want the largest city in America to host the Olympics Games.
La should host every 4 years
US cities of the east coast, Boston, New York, Philadelphia or the nation capital of Washington DC deserve to host the 2028 Olympics Games!
Those aren’t bad ideas, but LA is a much better city to host the olympics than those you mentioned. There isn’t much building needed since LA already have the needed venues/sports parks to host the Olympics. Plus, it would attract more people if it was hosted in LA
Boston tried to run for 2028 but they got a lot of backlash from their residents.
@@rodniylenz4796 I know.
I was disappointed.
I thought Boston or rather, (my 2nd choice) Washington DC would be able to make it in the end.

Too bad I missed your coverage of the Genocide Games. Why not have the Olympics in North Korea next? It's perfect!
It would be impossible because North Korea is a stricter country.
second
2028 in LA? In LA time, that's 5 million illegal aliens away from from today.
Oscar And we'll still be the premiere city in the US😎
Yea, keep telling yourself that. By 2028 LA will need sanctuary cities for "non Hispanics."
Ok man, immigration is a net negative meaning more people are leaving than coming in. LA is already seeing drastic changes for the good, clearly you're some angry dude from the middle of nowhere
Oscar stfu you racist ignorant fool
Immigration has actually been on the decline over the years. Meanwhile if the Olympics were hosted in a red state, it would be 10 million meth heads away.
Nah. Not some housing. /
OH NO KEEP THIS SHIT AWAY.
Too late it is already on its way.
If I'm an Olympic athlete I would love for the Olympics to be held in LA every 4 years. The IOC should make LA the host city for every summer games going forward.
That isn't fair to the rest of the world.
The host city gets a ton of qualifying quotas
@@jianthonnierojas7436 isn't fair to LA natives lol. Let them enjoy their summer breaks in peace.
@@StayGold222 oh I agreed.
@@StayGold222 I'm just saying that having the same host every year is not fair when the USA already dominates most Olympics.
Bring the Olympics to DC
Russell Westbrook Fan since 2010 they tried
Russell Westbrook Fan since 2010 I agree.
The US capital deserve the host the next Olympics Games.
It’s a scam LA taxpayers will lose their shirts. The taxpayers will be as usually.
LA got conned by the IOC, hosting the Olympics isn't the economic windfall it's cracked up to be, that's why Boston pulled out, they wised up. You spend millions of dollars on building facilities, venues, stadiums, security, logistics for all these foreign people coming in to your city, and you don't get much in return, it's really not worth the hassle
evancortez2 The last two times LA hosted the game they made a profit. LA is the best place to hold the Olympics.
evancortez2 LA already has the infrastructure in place. That's the difference compared to other cities.
Conned? The IOC is lowering their profit percentage and giving LA $2 Billion to Prepare to host the 2028 games. Also, Measure M that was past in November will give $30 Billion to LA infrastructure/transportation improvements by 2028. Boston can not pull of these games without building new venues...Venues that LA has in place already.
+evancortez2 They already have enough existing venues to make a good games. They have new venues that are currently under construction and they would put up temporary structures. SIR GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!
