You have no idea how helpful this video was in helping me decide between the Zoom Q2N and alternatives. I've watched so many in-depth reviews, but seeing the clarity of this video, and the wonderful audio told me all I really needed to know. BTW, *love* the music! I'm watching it all.
Awesome sound, gents. Super talented crew. This sounds beautiful: a testament to your musicianship and talent as a band - and also a nice job by this camera. Lovely capturing, both sonically and visually.
Thanks for posting this. I really need to see how the audio and video performed on this camera and this is really helpful. The jazz is great too! Keep up the good work!!!
Been watching and listening to all this camera offers and the reviews, none of which helped in my decision until I came across this video. No BS. Let the video/audio speak for itself. I think I’ll be purchasing this camera. Thank you. Nice performance too.
I have been thinking about making a review for the camera. Ive used it many times and want to address many comments and other things. So potentially stay tuned if interested!
I don't entirely remember, but it was probably 4k30. In terms of audio, probably at 7 or so. I had the camera for probably about 2 hours before I recorded this haha.
hat wer Erfahrung mit Aufnahmen von Solisten im Nahbereich? Gibt es da auch diese Fischaugenverzerrung, wo man an den seitlichen Rändern deutlich die Verbiegung der Perpektive sehen kann?
Hi. I am wondering how good this camera is at close up work? The nearest answer I have is your hand in the first seconds of this video. I am wondering if you have found it any good for close up filming... like the text and pages of a small book for example.
I think depending on lighting it could be okay. I never really thought about it being used for close up work. I don’t think this camera would be the best for it, but your mileage may vary. I’m not entirely sure how good the focus is. I never ran into an issue of bad focus or anything either.
You can either use a USB cable to connect it directly to the computer. Or, get an adapter to convert microsd, to regular sd, and use it with a card reader!
Wld you happen to know how do I upload videos from my Q2N-4K to my Chromebook? I am able to put it on the Chrome, but after that it is as if it isn't even there when I try to upload. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should go about it. Thanks
@@matt_kaefer Getting it to the computer isn't the issue. Besides; what computer! I am using a Chromebook. The fact is that I am not able to take it from the chromebook and upload it to anywhere.
yes, it should be a little more balanced. There are also presets for the audio you can use depending on setting the gain, which makes it very simple to record material on the fly.
Be extremely careful that this camera does not tip over when attached to a tri pod, the housing that holds the tripod is not strong. That's exactly what happened to mine, 5 month old camera , now useless. Very disappointed that Zoom would not make this right and cover this under warranty.
As someone who has used the camera quite regularly over the passed year and a half, I’m lucky that I haven’t ran into an issue like that. I am always moving it on and off of a pretty cheap tripod. But good to know! Sorry that had to happen to you.
very important for these cameras is where you locate it. We dont hear piano at all. Why is the pianist at the back of the stage? usually jazz piano should come at front... Also the bass creates a sound wall that eats the piano sound. However your tocatta is sweet and you comunnicate very well between each other!! I wonder why at the begginin theres no people at the theater... it should be crowded!! and when it does at the end of the show people are talking to loud... think about make them quiet and listen!!
I got this camera earlier this day. Didn't have a tripod. I just put it on a hand railing on the stage. We were playing just as people were entering for a giant meeting. It was a very simple setup for a gig. Some later videos I have on this channel have a better placement. But I normally try not to throw it in front of us just as a precaution.
ya, noticed that too. Too bad the camera doesn't have a "ignore rude audience people" setting : ) . But in fairness, this looks like a warm up / set up situation, so folks gotta do their thing...
this is exactly why I will NEVER EVER own one of these zoom video recorders. the lens makes everything look like FISHEYE. that's might be ok for a skate boarding video. but it just looks like shit in the real world. How hard would it be to just use a standard lens with an OPTICAL zoom?... the company is called ZOOM... but the one thing their product can't so, is ZOOM??? wtf?
There is a button on the camera that crops and zooms, eliminating the fish eyed view. You’re buying and using this item for its size and convenience factor. You can use an audio recorder plus your phone camera, or a more expensive camera if you want better results obviously. It’s one of those things you can set it in a big church and have everything in the shot with good audio. Or you throw into your gig bag and set it up somewhere just to record the moment. Video looks bad? well at least you have audio. Yes, lowlight isn’t the best and brighter shots look marginally better. For a all in one solution, it does pretty well. In my opinion. How much do you expect to get for around $200? What is the better alternative?
Crop is even without loss of quality because of 16MP Sensor. You should better be informed before arguing. By the way: Show me a lens of 15mm equivalent without distortion. Barely no lense under 500 bucks I guess.
Came for a quick video test. Let the whole video play in the background while I got work done. Good job gentlemen. Sounding good
Came for the video test, stayed for the jazz
😂

Came for the H2n review. Now I'm stuck here because of the music. Very well done, gentleman!
Q2n.
Came here for review. Ended up loving the performance 😀
Probably one of the best audio/video tests I've seen for this camera. Thanks for sharing.
Came here to check out the camera. Stayed for the wonderful jazz. Nice work guys.
Checked this video for the Q2N test... and couldn't stop listening. Great job, guys !

All of you play and sound great
👏👏👏
Thanks for posting this. Really useful. Your band sounds amazing - and the quality of the video is also very good considering the size and price.
Sounds amazing. Especially the bass. You make it look easy brother. Camera not bad either!
Thanks for posting this. I really need to see how the audio and video performed on this camera and this is really helpful. The jazz is great too! Keep up the good work!!!
Outstanding performance by all! Sounds are rich & deep. Video looks great too! Thanks for sharing~
watched so many q2n 4k review videos... But yours made me feel confident with my purchase. Love the music!
Came for the camera test. Stayed for the music 🙂
the sound is really great, i will buy one, by the way, great band too, keep it up, greetings from Germany
Came here to see how the Qn-4k performs....falling in love with your music within seconds.🤗🥰 What Qn...what?😅

This clearly illustrates how 'the room' is more important in recording acoustic instruments, above anything else.
Good point..
A video like this one is what I was looking for! Thank you Thank you
Came for the review, stayed for the music!
Gentlemen, that's great work indeed. Let's have more of it. Bravo!
Great playing!!! Great sound and pretty good video too on this device. Thanks for posting.
this slaps in 1.5x
Good music!
How long it works on these two AA batteries?
I see multiple opinions in the Internet, that it lasts very short, but I can't find out how short exactly
Sounds great!
Awesome... the music.. love it.. thx guys..., looking for a review.. end up.. listening to the music till the end.. thx again.. :)

@@matt_kaefer all the best Matt.. warm greetings from Bandung Indonesia
Looks good & sounds great!
I’ll Remember April… and smile. Clifford would be smiling!
You guys sound great. Thanks for the video test and great music
Please come to Brazil!
Que maravilloso concierto!!!
sounds great. I'm sold!
nice camera test bro
Hey would you guys consider doing another test video? I could provide a set list for about three hours or so.
Nice audio! I have this cam and I love it.
Buena música 🎉 y la grabadora de video se comporta bien al estar estática
It actually sounds great or maybe it’s just you guys lol. But the video quality is also good.
what settings on the camera did you use? for audio and what video setting did you use? Cinema 24 P?
I don't entirely remember, but it was probably 4k30. In terms of audio, probably at 7 or so. I had the camera for probably about 2 hours before I recorded this haha.
Piano and bass audio are not picked up well by the camera
Can you adjust the angle of the lens? Like on GoPro you can set it to linear mode and it isn’t fisheyed.
Yes, there is a button on the back screen to adjust the field of view.

Bass is superior
wow sound is great
Is it possible to edited the fisheye away??
There probably is a way? Not sure tho. On the camera you can toggle it off. It zooms in the image slightly, but the fisheye goes away.
@@matt_kaefer ok. How about using a powerbank? When recording longer shots?
@@danishsinatra Yes power bank works great. My preferred method honestly.
Hi, curious to what the name of the song of the first one you guys played?
First song we played was I'll Remember April!
Wow, I just got one
How do I transfer files so I can put it on you tube

Make sure the camera is on "Card Reader" mode when you turn it on, after you plug it in. Then drag and drop the files on your computer.

Nice jazz sound! Very impressive with the video and music audio. But, wondering how clear audio is while speaking?
TEQUILA!
Sounds good! Would it sound any different if the camera was center stage ?
yes, it should be a little more balanced. There are also presets for the audio you can use depending on setting the gain, which makes it very simple to record material on the fly.

The video quality is mediocre and the audio quality is amazing, but your performance is beyond of this world!

mam te kamerę jest zajebista :)
Did you add an external microphone?
I dont think so this unit has better sound quality then video. Looks like a solid unit tho!
Dude, your sax player is not fucking around.
Nice playing by proff Jazzmans....but audience is talking and making noise like a pigs

bad camera
horrible video sometimes
so disappointed with this camera
add a big light but no miracles
200 bucks man. This ain't no full frame 1. something. Spend more money for equipment, or get u some light. That's rule number one in videography.
