Thank you Thank you! I purchased this machine less than a month ago and have been looking for good instruction. Your presentation is exactly spot on!! I think the manual will make more sense now and I will likely return to this video when I forget something...
very, very good demonstration on this machine. I have purchased this machine recently and will definitely continue to watch this video over and over, thank you
Omg!!! Incredible video! I’ve had this machine for several years and never knew half of this! The janome manuals are absolutely worthless and I have 2 janome s. Thank you for doing this.
I just bought the Skyline S7 and your video is awesome!! I've saved it to reference as I start using my machine. Thank you for such a great tutorial!! 👍
Wow. Loved this video. I don't think there was a thing about this machine that you didn't cover. Best tutorial video I have seen. Thank you so much. You have reinforced that my purchase was a good decision. Sorry that I live so far away and I am unable to visit your location. I will be ordering some accessories.
Maureen, Thank you so much for watching! We're glad that you enjoyed the video, and we hope that you enjoy using your new machine. We so appreciate you visiting our website - it truly means a lot! Feel free to let us know if you need anything. Happy sewing!
Have just found this video and thought it was excellent. Have had my Atelier 7 for over 2 years and it was still interesting to find new features of the machine. I generally make bags and makeup type pouches and wallets, and l find that by using the foot 'O' ( Blind hemming Foot} ? , and moving the needle using the 1/4" button (No 4) on the 1st utility screen, i can get a perfect top stitch for my bags. I thought you might like this tip.
Thank you for watching and we're glad you found this video helpful! Thank you for this advice - We'll be sure to try it the next time we're doing topstitching! 😀
Thank you that’s the best information I’ve had on this machine ever. I will be saving this video. So much better than reading the instruction book. I have learnt so much more about what my sewing machine can do. ❤
Excellent presentation. I have had my machine a long time and didn’t know how to set up a scant quarter inch properly for quilting. Thank you for your help😊
This is such a comprehensive video tutorial…v clearly explained and videoed! Thank you I am learning sooo much…much prefer this to reading the manual 🎉😊
Excellent video. I have had my s7 for 4 years and have not used all the features, this was a great review I do have a question has anyone tried to use the lettering with a twin needle also can us do lettering with the acufeed. I haven't been able to use the leg bar yet because there isn't enough room wth my sewing table. Thanks again for the video
Hi Kathryn, No, you can’t use the alphabets with a twin needle because when you select the “Twin Needle” setting, the machine automatically blocks out any stitches that cannot be used with the feature, and that includes all of the alphabets. You can use AcuFeed with the alphabets, and to do this, attach the AcuFeed holder as you normally would but do NOT engage AcuFeed on your machine. (If you engage the system, the machine will automatically block out the alphabets.) However, I do recommend that for a nicer finish, use the recommended foot “F” instead of AcuFeed because the walking foot makes the letters “drag” and they don’t look as nice. Thanks for watching! - Priscila
I purchased my S7 in 2019 and love it. I recently found your You Tube video on the S7 and learned so much….I am a visual learner. I noted that on several specific settings you chose a FS, favorite setting tab, to secure your specific settings. I do not have that tab and am wondering if it was a change made to the machine since my purchase. Or, I am hoping it is just in a different place. I look forward to your reply. Thank you. The video was so well done and helpful.
You have to turn the feature on. Go to your settings, and under "Maching settings", scroll through the pages until you see something called "favorite stitch". Turn it "on", save it, and it should now appear for you. Let me know if you have any questions! ~Priscila
It's a great one! It's available on our website - We can ship it to you for free! Click on the link to check it out: www.sewsewstudio.com/shop/c/p/Janome-Skyline-S7-x67351624.htm
This can happen simply because the eye of the Schmetz needle doesn't exactly align with the hook on the machine's threader. The needles that we recommend for Janome machines are Organ needles.
You are a really good teacher! I have the s3 it’s not very strong. Is the s5 better or the S7, how much are they and would you do trade in? my S3 I’ve only used maybe 5 times
All of these machines are part of the Skyline series. The biggest difference between them is the amount of features that each one has. The Skyline S5 has more features than your S3, and the Skyline S7 has more features than the previously mentioned machines. The S7 is one of our top models because it has AcuFeed and a smart touchscreen that gives you step-by-step guidance on how to sew many techniques. We'd be happy to talk to you about trading in your machine. Please give us a call at 678-661-0201. Thanks for watching. -Priscila
There are a couple. You can get one from Janome (part number 861406025) or one from Sew Steady. For more information, call us at 770-497-2973 and we'd be happy to give you more information.
We use the Organ universal 90/14 needle for most of our projects, but we do change it occasionally depending on what we're making. For example, we switch to a 100/16 jeans needle for making rope bowls, or a 75/11 for lightweight fabrics. It all depends on what you're making, but 90% of the time, you can probably use an 80/12 or a 90/14 universal needle.
hello very beautiful sewing machine huge foot pedal please kindly film how to operate the sewing machine using only the start stop button being used to sew and please kindly film how to operate the sewing machine electric foot pedal how it's used to sew please kindly reply back OK?thank you very much 😊
Operating the start/stop button is very easy. Simply disconnect your foot pedal, set your speed using the speed control slider, and when you're ready to sew, hit the start/stop button. If you hold down the button, the machine will stitch very slowly; this is useful for when you're finishing a project and want to make sure you're being precise with your stitching. But it's a great idea to film a video about this. Thanks for the suggestion - we'll add it to our list of future videos!
Thank you for your feedback. We're not experts at video filming, but we hope to get better as we gain more practice. Feedback like this will help us get there!

Just wondering can you use the High performance Plate and foot on the Skyline S7?
Thanks for watching! No, you can't use the HP plate or foot on the S7.

Is there a Janome mechanical that sews more than one fabric? I am interested. Thanks
Do you mean like thicker materials, such as leather, cork, or vinyl? If so, then yes! It's called the HD9!
I read somewhere that the Janome machine needle threader does not work well with Schmetz needles. Have you found that to be true?
This can happen simply because the eye of the Schmetz needle doesn't exactly align with the hook on the machine's threader. The needles that we recommend for Janome machines are Organ needles.
Can I reset the settings?
Are utility stitches 1 and 2 the only ones that do auto stitches at beginning and end?
Yes. There are also a couple when you attach the straight stitch needle plate.
You are a really good teacher! I have the s3 it’s not very strong. Is the s5 better or the S7, how much are they and would you do trade in? my S3 I’ve only used maybe 5 times

Is there a special needle you need to use

What is the top speed of the Janome Skyline S7 ?
It is 1,000 stitches per minute! Thanks for watching!
