Hey Cody, would really love to see a short run down on how to aquire a permit to purchase these and if they are shippable. I've been a firework enthusiast for years now and have had some crazy shows but this would finally up my game. Thanks for the video showing these off!!
So... 2 pathways.... 1) find a local pyro group or company that will sponsor a safe shooters certificate. That will, in many cases, allow you to purchase "1.4Pro" designated items. PGA in the North East, API is universal. Both require a membership. Some fireworks brick and mortar (ha) stores do classes... but you usually have to be in the know/friends&family. 2) Buy a Cobra and take the online support course. That will get you good with American Wholesale and they have plenty of "Pro" available.
There is no permit or license required to purchase. There is currently no law defining it. But most sellers want to see some kind of proof of competency. As others said, most retailers/wholesalers will accept a PGI shooters course or operators certificate/license. A few places will accept the online certificate which you can get if you have a cobra or other professional firing system. Check which systems are accepted on the website.
Id recommend covering any exposed gray quick fuse with foil tape. The gray quick fuse especially really likes to ignite from sparks! The foil tape sticks to literally just about anything, and it doesn’t run the chance of catching on fire like duck tape or masking tape. Also drill some holes in the wood you have the single shots glued on to so you can zip tie or fasten them with wire. I’ve seen hot glue and other glues pop loose before from the concussion of things firing.
Can vouch for foil tape. Use it every year. Not only does it protect against early ignition, but it helps pass fire on fuse to fuse connections. It can be found in the HVAC section at hardware stores.
For those of you copying this setup. Please use a holder, this is an unsafe method of securing those comets. Need a holding device at least. Glue alone will not cut it.
Those look amazing... I've definitely got to get my pro license. Idk if the lesser license is different but the process for getting the full one seems like a bit of a hassle... need to have an inspector come to my home, have to have a special explosives box and it could take several months to get approved :/ I was hoping to get the full license by the 4th but I got ghosted by some company that sells the explosive storage boxes and never found out how much they cost.
@pyrodon5773 cool, sounds like that will be much easier than the full license. I honestly don't think I'm allowed to have full blown display class fireworks in my town anyway :/

Cody do you know if these company’s would except a shooter approval from the BATF all it is is an employee processor form that I have. I’ve been shooting shows for 20 years and probably have more Experience then 90% of the people who already have the certificate. Any help would be appreciated.
It is very difficult to find any kind of specific information of how I can obtain a 1.4 Pro Display certificate in Louisiana. Some people say just join PGI. Okay I can join PGI but does filling out an application and sending in a membership fee automatically make me eligible to purchase 1.4 pro grade fireworks? When I google fireworks shooter and safety courses I either get classes 1000 miles away, or gun safety training. It would be awesome if there were more resources available explaining this process.

Is this any state you can get this license for? I know for your pyrotechnics card it’s completely different with each state and I’m not sure my state has what you have. I live in pa but never heard of anybody having anything like that. I can shoot pa shows under my company’s license. I shoot wv shows with my buddy and his license and I have my training card. And then I can shoot md and va with my buddy under his license. Just never heard of your license around here and wouldn’t mind having it.

They are like “500 gram cakes” but 1.4 pro have their own limits up to 1,000 grams. So technically they are 1,000 gram cakes if loaded to max.

RKM has two websites. One will just give you a price list, the other has an online catalog with demo videos.
All of those were pretty sweet. I wish I could do that in California. Could you give me more information regarding that license you have?
