I learned from Abby Yung ( another beauty influencer) that the important ingredient in the SK11 essence is Galactomyces and you can get a much more affordable version of just that in the Cosrx Galactomyces 95 tone balancing essence I have been using it for a while and I love it. It’s also easier to use as it is more of a light gel serum. And it’s affordable! Love your videos ❤
Yes. I love Cosrx
I love Abbey too !
I love the cosrx too
I’m glad you’re getting results from the less expensive product, but that’s really an oversimplification that isn’t accurate.
Galactomyces is a genus. The exact species of SK-II’s “Pitera” is unknown because it’s trademarked. There can literally be thousands of species in that genus, and they won’t all do the same thing.
As an example, human beings are in the genus Homo. Our species is sapiens. Also in the genus Homo is neanderthalensis. You wouldn’t exactly say that that is a dupe for modern humans.
I tried other products with galactomyces but unfortunately that don't work near as much on my skin. Skincare is more that one ingredient so it's nor that simple to find a dupe. Plus galactomyces is a natural ingredient so not all galactomyces is going to be the same. In that case the quality and origin of the ingredient matters. But great for those who can get the same results for a cheaper price.
If your skincare goal is anti aging, I would suggest using a facial spf all year round, this is even more vital if you use retinoids at all in the winter
Yes! This!
Love your dark hair colour Charlotte! 🩷
I think having a consistent routine is step 1! I came from a family where I saw my grandma had a discipline ritual and it was nothing fancy, but she stuck to it and her skin into her 90s was amazing! She always wore brim hats when she worked outside and reminded me what her mother drilled into her, don’t pull faces- dint train your face muscles to be ugly lol. I’m just saying it’s not always about the latest fandango products/ingredients -sometimes it’s just about having a skincare plan and sticking to it! Don’t get me wrong, I love my skincare collection of products, but I also remember everything grandma taught me!
I bought my CB masks in March 2023 (using your discount code) and I love them both, use them about 5-6 times a week and I can totally nod off during the 10 minute cycle 😂. I love the Geek and Gorgeous Mighty Melt cleansing balm, does the job and very affordable, also their Vitamin C and Retinal serums work well for me too. Great video 👍
The La Roche Posay SPF is my favourite too! I have dry, acneprone skin (such fun 🙄) and 2/3 of the year it is moisturising enough to not need an extra daycream underneath 👌
Lancome Renergie is really nice. I got a sample jar with a purchase I made and I used it all up.
More skincare content please🤩
UVA rays (those that are causing aging) are constant all year round even in UK and they can penetrate through clouds, fog, windows, etc. You NEED sunscreen all the time.
That’s ridiculous pseudo-science. I’m 100% with Charlotte on this.
good morning ☀️ from Florida … really enjoying your videos.
Your skin always looks gorgeous!!! I used to adore the Roche-Posay SPFs UNTIL perimenopause hit me hard!!!! Overnight not only did I develop a SEVERE allergic reaction to hair colours/dyes (this devastated me - I have to take serious antihistamines everytime I go to my phenomenal hairdresser - only twice a year now as it is so bad) BUT also to almost every single SPF. My eyes blew-up like purple weeping eggs ... not a good look on any day!!!! So I have trawled through literally 100s ... the only 2 that seem to work for me are the Beauty of Joseon one and the Skin1004. I am dying to try Caroline Hirons range once I have finished my current cleanser (Lisa Eldridge) and Moisturiser (Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream). This was a brilliant tutorial - I bought the Glow for It lash and brow serums thanks to you!! The brow one has been slow but definitely works, and neither sting my eyes (YAAY). Some great products that are now on my 'to-try' list!!! Thank you Charlotte.
I have started taking a little bit of Vaseline and rubbing it to fingers and patting on the sides of my face and under my eyes not every night and that’s helped
I really love the Rephr day cream. I have very dry skin and it nourishes my skin and does not react in any way with my other skincare serums and SPF or interfere with my makeup. I too love my LED mask. I use it daily.
I have their Intense Hydration Cream and it is SHOCKINGLY GOOD and packed with actives. I have no idea why Rèphyr skincare gets so little attention.
I've tried zillions of sunscreens and that one is my all time favourite too!
Hi! One balm that melt super easily and that is cheaper is the balm from the brand Geek&Gorgeous which I reviewed on my channel. It's fragrance-free for those who need that.
Yes, it's a lovely product ^_^
The cleansing balm of the Farmacy is the best.❤❤
The Farmacy Green Clean is my favorite, too!
YES to the Farmacy green clean✨🥰💚 I’ve also tried cleansing balm from other brands but nothing beats this one! It has been a staple in my skincare routine for years now ⭐️
I have mostly used Japanese skincare from living in Japan when I was a teen-20s, and then got into Korean skincare in my mid 20s which I still continue to use, so have not used much western products except a few brands. I love Farmacy and Glow recipe, although they are so expensive so I like to stick with my Korean skincare, so am glad to see some Korean products in your routine ! Whenever I visit Japan, that SKII serum is all over the Narita airport. I have never tried it but I do want to one day if I can ever afford it
Love Green clean , love cosrx eyecream and the Sk11 essence they are definitely in my routine. Peptides are my favorite ingredients. I have been looking into the Nira laser and the red light therapy .
Ty Charlotte! Love your recommendations even if we aren't skin twins!😊 I like too many products to name but fave eye serum is Dt. Dennis Gross (day) and Revive (night); and some great eye creams include Sisley Anti Aging, Allies of Skin, Caudalie Gel Firming!😂😂😂
Sisley creams are never disappointing!!!🥰
I love my Tatcha exfiating scrub in the purple tube I like the Vegreen Mucin serum it’s got extra great ingredients and I use a multi peptide serum daily like ordinary copper peptides or NIOD RNW alternate between them the more peptides the better 🤣🤣🤣
Vitamin c under your SPF is great easy just that and maybe an ice cream if you need it for the morning for us dry skin girls
Thank you for this video! Absolutely useful! Love it! My skin care products that I find work the best for me ..are the skinceuticals retinol and the current body led mask …I agree with you that retinol and led light therapy are the best …my skin has never looked better and I am 69 years old! ❤️❤️
I use the same eye cream as you, plus the cosrx moistrizer 😂, just love it.Thats the fun part for me in that, the gooiness.
Hi Charlotte your makeup looks soooo good today (and as always)😍
Hi Charlotte! I have been following you (and others) for a while and I rarely comment. I am trying to be better at commenting so here I am 😆 I absolutely LOVE your personality and will literally watch any video you make ❤️ Your skin always looks amazing…another great video, thank you!
I’m absolutely obsessed with the SK- 11 .. i tried facial lotion similar to essence, serum face moisturizer and facial oil but I stick to essence because they are all pricey!😮 ..
I decided to go with the Mizon Snail eye cream instead of the Cosrx because you get a full ounce for only few dollars more. I hope it works on par. I don’t need a night cream right now, but if I like the eye cream I’ll grab this one too. Love your channel, love skincare in my 50s.❤😊
I love my LED masks! One for the face, another for the neck. It's so funny when my granddaughters call me on a video chat and I have it on they just think it's the craziest thing ever! They are 4 and 7 I agree what a huge diff this contraption makes!
Have loved hearing your skin care faves Charlotte ❤
Charlotte I am now properly obsessed with CJ Tudor! Thank you for the recommendation!!
This video came at the perfect time for me! I also have “balanced” skin and I have had difficulty finding good recommendations for skincare in all the categories. Your skin is amazing! Thank you for sharing your favorites!!!
Good to hear your routine for skincare, Charlotte! I know much you like C. Tilbury and I wanted to see if you have tried the Glow Toner that she has. I am on my 3rd bottle. I put a little on my fingers and press it on my face. It feels so good on my fingers and my face. Feels like cashmere and it has a lot of nourishing ingredients. Highly recommend. I have used a lot of skincare as I am now 73 and this is my favorite toner. I also just started using the Farmacy makeup remover and so far I like it. I haven't heard of Skinrocks so will have to check their products out. I just discovered the Innbeauty Projects tinted SPF and it is my favorite of all SPFs I have tried. I will repurchase. Thanks again for doing a skincare video.
I just ordered Dermatica tretinoin. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. I've got a Peptide cream from Carave. Love my CB led face and chest mask too. Love Charlotte Tilbury's crystal elixir serum (full of Niacinamide)
Need a different eye cream. I have Estee Lauder anr eye, I don't love it.
Great Video Charlotte ❤❤❤
Hi Charlotte! That was amazing video! I use and love same products like yours. For example Lancome was my first luxury cream and I fall in love and never looked back! I understand and agree with you how important self care is!
La Rosche suns creams are super but Beauty of Joason is equally good I love it too!!
Ooh the SkinRocks Retinoid is so so lovely to use!! It’s very moisturizing.
My faves are Differin, platinum led biomax 900 panels (in addition to helping the skin, fabulous for muscle recovery post workout plus many other benefits), niod copper peptides
YES! Shout it out for both NIOD and copper peptides.
Me too!
Great options Charlotte I've recently been adding a lot of k-beauty serums and skincare to my routine and they work wonders plus affordable as well. The anthelios sunscreen is my favorite I always stock up everytime I'm in Greece. Great video ♥
Have you tried Supergoop unseen sunscreen? It doubles up as a primer as well. I found la roche posay spf to be very drying as it has a lot of alcohol in it
I just found you and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you for a great video and I now have to go shopping for some of these great items that you brought to us. Have a blessed day.❤❤❤
@574shelley. I'm not an expert, but an avid watcher of YT skincare vids, and I've heard several times it's really just marketing, there is no official difference. Serum=lotion=toner=essence.
Hope this helps. Best wishes.
@@africke744 Thank you
This was so helpful thank you, I've ordered 2 products already. ❤
Wow! What a perfect video! 💜 After hearing back all about your hair care I then thought, I’d love to know all the skincare she uses but I didn’t want to ask. 🙃 SO many of these products I will be trying out as I’m just feeling like I need some newer products to try that don’t all break the bank! Thanks so much Charlotte, for doing this video….its SO much appreciated!! 💜💜💜
Thank you for sharing. I want to try the Good Molecules exfoliating powder. I have been using dRBrandt for over a year but now I feel it may be to harsh for my sensitive, dry skin. It is a great product though. I use Elemis cleansing balm or DHC cleansing oil then LaRoche Posay cleanser for dry skin. I use Tretinoin so I need deep moisturizing at night. Avene products have been my go to along with adding Jojoba oil or Timeless squalane to my thick Loreal Collagen cream some nights. They’re all cheaper alternatives but they work for me. If I could use niacinamide I could use a higher quality (not that these aren’t good quality) range of products. There’s just so many more I’d love to try. I’m currently testing the new REMEDY for dark spots created by Dr. Shaw here on utube. It’s to soon to see results but it makes my skin feel soft. (Not a plug for the brand lol)
Thank you 😊
Have you tried the Clarins Total Eye Lift cream? It’s the only eye cream that has worked at all for me.
I thought I was the only person that didn’t get on with the Laneige lip masks. They dry out my lips. But I just saw on the Doctorly channel that they’re loaded with ingredients that irritate and dry out lips-at least I’m not nuts! They do smell great, though. :)
I 'm also happy with the Clarins eye cream!!!🥰
Thank you for doing this video. It was very helpfull for me❤
I love skincare content and try a lot of different products. The Skinrocks moisturiser is on my list to try. I like a lot of Korean skincare, and at the moment I'm using the Haruharu Wonder Black rice toner as my essence serum and then the Mary & May Idebenone & Blackberry Serum. I love Ultra Violette Supreme Screen sunscreen as it's hydrating with a lovely creamy texture. Current eye cream (day only) is Sunday Riley Autocorrect.
You have perfect skin!
Hi Charlotte … just to say that I’m new to your channel.. & I’m loving it, !!… you have a unique way of describing your products, which is superb…. Can I ask you , is SK11 an ESSENCE or serum ,??? … as I use a all Korean & Japanese products & I was led to believe that SK11 is an essence water … what is the difference between an essence & serum ?? Thank you so much ..❤
“ but if it makes you feel better, I do have rosacea” 😊🤣😅
Thank you for sharing, I use several of those and more.
Hi Charlotte,i use de cosrx eye cream also its realy smooth and hydraything.I am loving a lot the eccence also as the spf 50.Thank you.
Love this video, I will make notes :) Do you have a discount code for currentbody by any chance?
Beautiful as always❤🎉
Charlotte, what was the app you mentioned? I can’t remember when in the video you mentioned it 😂
Skin Rocks is the app by the ultimate skin guru, Caroline Hirons. I highly recommend her book too.
I have not used retinol products as I have rosacea and sensitive skin
Sounds similar to you. What do you recommend?
Start with Medik8 retinAL #3. They have the easiest system to encourage your skin to adapt to retinoids.
Hello beautiful Charlotte 😍
Nuface really sculpted my jawline when I lost weight, LED, tretinoin.
Hi, How many times a week do you use Nuface? Cheers ^_^
Where would we be without Lady H!
Love my CB LED mask. It's so effective!
Hi Charlotte
I like your skin care routine. Because you would like a stronger retinol I suggest upgrading to retinal. Less irritation and one less convection step in you skin. The one I use is a retinal oil from the English brand Mad About Skin. It is a small brand owned by a fellow RUclipsr. Check it out. It is excellent and not expensive. Big hug
I’m genuinely shocked that you’re not using Lotion P50 1970!
That one wasn’t gifted like all her recommendations.😁 My conclusion after this video is: the best skincare products are the ones you have them for free. 😜
Swear by my LED mask! Holy grail
❤
Take it from someone well into her forties... the dryness is coming! LOL
I have normal skin as I have gotten older.
I think we may be skin twins! Excited to hear your suggestions ❤😊
