If I had to bet I would say that Caroline is a Leo, they greed and their ego are always recognized. I don't know when their date of birth is, but it never fails. As they say here in Spain, most of them are double-sided coins.
I don’t care how good the products are, I can't abide Caroline Hirons. I used to follow her some years ago and was a regular reader of her blog/website articles, but the way she spoke to anyone who dared disagree with her opinions was shocking. She was really aggressive and rude. There's no way I would support her business when she has that attitude.

I stopped watch Hirons ages ago, recommending too many wildly expensive products just made me feel inadequate. I got fed up of hearing her saying you should spend as much on your skincare as a designer handbag🙄 I’ve found a routine that suits my skin and costs me very little. I’m over 10 years older than her and I can honestly say my skin is better than hers so I’m not going to buy her products. I don’t understand the need for yet another skincare range, there’s nothing new here. The ordinary just brought out 0.2% retinal- now that I’m interested in.

Great review thanks Wayne, I really like CH, she is no nonsense and forthright but she is undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. She was also kind enough to send me a lovely skincare package after I was badly assaulted at Christmas (by a stranger), she noticed my comment to another follower on her Facebook group and reached out to me, so she undoubtedly is genuinely a caring and kind person. x
I read Caroline’s blog for years, watched her videos, bought her book and recommendations and then disagreed with something she said a few years ago. Wrote her a polite private message and she just blocked me. Think she’s too deep in the corporate world now and probably has a ton of yes people around her. I don’t idealise anyone now as it hurts when you look up to people like that, give them your money even though they are clearly more wealthy than you for them to treat you like that.
Caroline has always said the real magic of a skincare routine are what comes between the cleanser and moisturizer. She also said there was no need to spend a lot on these two products. unless you want to, as they’re the bookends of any routine, and really not important. So I’m perplexed as to why she’d launch a moisturizer at such an exorbitant price. I trust in her research and product development, but the prices of all these products are out of control.
She appears to contradict quite a lot of what she used to say, and you can't put it down to new evidence because it is not things that here is new evidence to support. While I used to find her trustworthy I think what she says now is too influenced by her own financial interests.
I always took her advice to mean don't go broke trying to buy expensive moisturizer or cleansers however if you can afford them there are some really lovely ones. I really don't fault her for the price of her line as I have heard nothing but great things. I believe Wayne can also attest that when you self fund a business as she did that your prices are going to be higher as your cost per SKU will be more since you aren't buying as much stock during each production round. Just my two cents.
Brands like the ordinary ( and even Beauty pie although it is a bit dearer) are proof positive that there’s no need to spend a lot of money on skincare. I also think the packaging of this range is awful. If I wanted to invest I would probably buy Korean skincare. That’s what my daughter uses and her skin at 34 is just beautiful, despite the fact she has a stressful like with MS.
She has been very clear that if you can’t afford a skin care product you shouldn’t buy it. That surely is down to an individual in the same way as you decide if you can afford ( say) organic British asparagus or the regular stuff from Peru or a million other price decisions we all make every day.
Your skin is amazing Wayne and you are relatable, unlike Caroline Hirons for me anyway. Also who can realistically afford these as it’s not a one of you have to keep buying them

Lovely products but some of us cannot afford £49 for one bottle of Skin Rocks due to the cost of living rise. £49 for me is half a supermarket weekly shop😢
Caroline has said herself don’t go into debt to buy her products if it’s not affordable for you find the best product for your needs in your price range. Sali Hugh’s has some good products sold at UK drug stores made by revolution.

Not at all, I have bought several products from SH range, as they are so pocket friendly. I didn't like a single one, but I can definitely say I won't be buying from Hirons either. With the start of skin influencer and the endless recommendations of products many years ago my skin became like s***. CH and her praises of acids was the dead of my skin barrier. I know it was my fault, don't get me wrong but I think skin influencer are way overhyped.
Omg, Caroline and her buddy at the time Stephanie Nicole also made me destroy my skin barrier with acids some years ago! From then on I’ve kept a very simple and inexpensive routine and use the First Aid Beauty gentle acid pads once a week.
I mean, I know people like demonise manual exfoliants, but once a week it can’t be that bad so long as they are jojoba beads (smooth spheres). I know for a fact that my would rather that than the chemical competitors 😭

Caroline has changed too much. The kits are too frequent and too expensive. I bought the first few as they actually seemed like value with lots of big names in them. Now they have become less and less appealing and rarely sell out any more

She truly does not though , she is not a dermatologist, she is not a formulator, she is not a pharmacist, she has no actual qualifications that can qualify her as she knows skincare!! She is a glorified sale’s woman she that has worked in department stores and with skincare brands promoting products and once upon a time she was an aesthetician (and not a good one at that) she has a very aggressive approach and loves to toot her own horn but in reality she is as much qualified to discuss skincare as your normal person. Its sooo sad that people turn to Caroline for skincare advice and not an actual doctor that has studied skin and skincare for years! Its baffling how she has a cult of followers.

But also, she has scientists, formulators, actual chemists on her team. So the things that she may not be strong in, they are there to fill those areas. She knows what works and it seems like her products work for so many people. If you don’t like her personality that’s one thing.
@@amyr4944 what has she actually studied relating to skincare? I can tell you she has no qualifications whatsoever. She is a very good saleswoman and thats it. As far as formulators and pharmacists, thats all good but any decent dermatologist will tell you that what works in e petri dish means nothing in real life it may show great results there but that doesn’t translate to humans. Let me put it you in a way that may explain it better, if you need a tooth filling would you go to a dentist or would you go to boots? Its the same with skincare, if you have actual skin concerns, your first point should be someone who is a dermatologist and not Caroline because nothing made to be sold without a prescription will make any actual impact to actual skin related issues which are; acne, pigmentation, rosacea, melasma, perioral dermatitis, eczema and so on. If you have any of those you will not find the solution in anything sold by la mer, Caroline, drunk elephant or whatever other brand. If you think all your skin needs is something to moisturise it and make it feel more supple then yea sure anything will work for that its all about how much you want to spend. With skin it is the same, why would The truth is no one needs skincare unless you have an actual skin issue, for which only a dermatologist is qualified to help. Everything else is just for money making. Vaseline will moisturise better than any moisturising cream serum out there but it doesn’t come in a fancy pot or smell nice it is not advertised by influencers.

I think you may have no actual skin related issues, i am so pleased for you but these kind of formulations can have no impact in curing or maintaining ACTUAL skin diseases. anything sold without a prescription or that has not been administered by a qualified doctor will have no impact on actual skin related diseases. You can be sure that when Wayne Goss has issues with redness , acne, wrinkles, he turns to actual doctors for prescription based professional formulations, lasers and injectables and those are the true merit to his current skin condition, it is not the creams used by brands of Caroline and so on. My point was that we are inundated with products we don’t need and for those that need help they should save their money and see a dermatologist because they will not find a solution with such products that are only created for individual wealth gains. For someone that started beauty banks for those suffering “beauty poverty” I feel these are terribly overpriced for what’s out there on the market. Like others said her attitude isn’t great either. All she does is promote high end skincare while looking like a melting pie 🤦🏻♀️

Glass skin is not oily skin. People may mistakenly think that "glass" or "dewy" skin just means shiny or oily but that's so far from the case. Unfortunately for me, oily skin is still not on trend 😢
These are two different terms. A lot of times influencers show 'glass skin' when you can clearly see that this is a products that hasn't been absorbed yet. Oily skin has totally different shine.

Hi Wayne I’m flitting between scrip 0.1 and sr o.2. I also use the sr oil moisturiser and the gentle toner. Night after I use toner my cheeks break out. Wondering if the toner is many too strong. I get the same reaction from dr gross asid pads.

As someone with dry mature skin I love the Rich moisturizer.
Honestly, I find Astral great & I've good skin. I use a retinol which I'd rather spend my money on. 😉

I don't recommend buying Caroline's overpriced one. Ive heard good things about Byoma's face oil and it won't break the bank.

Been waiting for review on this release. Caroline Hirons rocks! Ty so much. Cant wait to try that moisturizer e oil. I have so many products but Caroline really knows her stuff! Trying to finish up some skincare before I try out Hirons. Thanks for the review. The oil sounds delicious. People can say what they want BUT Hirons knows her skincare, period. And she cracks my shit up. Thanks for the video.
She truly does not though , she is not a dermatologist, she is not a formulator, she is not a pharmacist, she has no actual qualifications that can qualify her as she knows skincare!! She is a glorified sale’s woman she that has worked in department stores and with skincare brands promoting products and once upon a time she was an aesthetician (and not a good one at that) she has a very aggressive approach and loves to toot her own horn but in reality she is as much qualified to discuss skincare as your normal person. Its sooo sad that people turn to Caroline for skincare advice and not an actual doctor that has studied skin and skincare for years! Its baffling how she has a cult of followers.

@@alidemsjathe thing I don’t understand with your comment is….while she may not be a dr. She certainly has studied and tested skincare for years. That alone gives a person knowledge. But also, she has scientists, formulators, actual chemists on her team. So the things that she may not be strong in, they are there to fill those areas. She knows what works and it seems like her products work for so many people. If you don’t like her personality that’s one thing.
@@amyr4944 what has she actually studied relating to skincare? I can tell you she has no qualifications whatsoever. She is a very good saleswoman and thats it. As far as formulators and pharmacists, thats all good but any decent dermatologist will tell you that what works in e petri dish means nothing in real life it may show great results there but that doesn’t translate to humans. Let me put it you in a way that may explain it better, if you need a tooth filling would you go to a dentist or would you go to boots? Its the same with skincare, if you have actual skin concerns, your first point should be someone who is a dermatologist and not Caroline because nothing made to be sold without a prescription will make any actual impact to actual skin related issues which are; acne, pigmentation, rosacea, melasma, perioral dermatitis, eczema and so on. If you have any of those you will not find the solution in anything sold by la mer, Caroline, drunk elephant or whatever other brand. If you think all your skin needs is something to moisturise it and make it feel more supple then yea sure anything will work for that its all about how much you want to spend.
With skin it is the same, why would The truth is no one needs skincare unless you have an actual skin issue, for which only a dermatologist is qualified to help. Everything else is just for money making. Vaseline will moisturise better than any moisturising cream serum out there but it doesn’t come in a fancy pot or smell nice it is not advertised by influencers.

I think you may have no actual skin related issues, i am so pleased for you but these kind of formulations can have no impact in curing or maintaining ACTUAL skin diseases. anything sold without a prescription or that has not been administered by a qualified doctor will have no impact on actual skin related diseases. You can be sure that when Wayne Goss has issues with redness , acne, wrinkles, he turns to actual doctors for prescription based professional formulations, lasers and injectables and those are the true merit to his current skin condition, it is not the creams used by brands of Caroline and so on. My point was that we are inundated with products we don’t need and for those that need help they should save their money and see a dermatologist because they will not find a solution with such products that are only created for individual wealth gains. In the end you are only helping make Caroline wealthier and not helping yourself. I too wish you a great day and wish you all the best!

Glass skin is not oily skin. People may mistakenly think that "glass" or "dewy" skin just means shiny or oily but that's so far from the case. Unfortunately for me, oily skin is still not on trend 😢
These are two different terms. A lot of times influencers show 'glass skin' when you can clearly see that this is a products that hasn't been absorbed yet. Oily skin has totally different shine.

Hi Wayne I’m flitting between scrip 0.1 and sr o.2. I also use the sr oil moisturiser and the gentle toner. Night after I use toner my cheeks break out. Wondering if the toner is many too strong. I get the same reaction from dr gross asid pads.
