Yeah, the dub absolutely destroyed a lot of the emotional beats of the show. In the original, Vector Prime’s farewell was specifically only to Bud and was a sweet but somber line about death and the nature of life and time. Lori also screams “He’s dying!” to which Bud states “No he’s not, he’s pnly going away for a bit, right Colby?” to which Colby lies and responds “Yes.”
See, this right here, one of the saddest and most iconic deaths in the Transformers franchise. Right up there with the Optimus Prime in the original 1986 movie, Dinobot in Beast Wars, Starscream in Armada, and Prowl in Animated. Farewell, Vector Prime. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
3:27 "After eons of watching, I began a new life, with purpose and meaning. And though that life now ends, I know that in the hearts of these friends I have made, I shall live forever. Farewell, Bud, the future is my gift to you."
Bless his Ancient Spark, he fought on with sheer willpower until the very end. Vector Prime, Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. Til all are ones. All that is left of him is Safeguard his Minicon.
Joseph Barnes Looking back at this, it reminds me a lot of Armada Starscream because he also sacrificed himself. All that was left was his sword and Swindle.
The fact Vector Prime's voice actor also did Rhinox makes this even more emotional for me. Rhinox died regretting his actions in Beast Machines. When I first instantly recognize Richard Newman's voice from Vector Prime, I can't help smile at that this is kind of a reunion between Optimus Primal and Rhinox. While Rhinox and Vector Prime are obviously different characters, seeing this scene felt like a redemption for Rhinox, and it just hurts my heart knowing that Optimus 'Primal' lost a good friend once more...
Vector Prime was one of the greatest Primes that existed, I was sad when he died and saluted him farewell, but I remember that he will always be with us
When I first saw this at 6 AM on the first day it aired, i wept and was sad throughout the entire day at school because one of my favorite Transformers had died. All these years later and I still In tears seeing the sacrifice he made to protect his friends and those he cared about.
Vector Prime has always been my favorite in this series. First time I saw this I was crying, but then I cried with a different meaning when he said his last farewell. R.I.P Vector Prime.
It is truly chilling how quickly Optimus moves on and tells the team to set course for Cybertron, and completely realistic too as far as being military is concerned. Not that I would know from personal experience, mind you, but it's to be expected in times of war that one must be punctual and make haste at every turn. There's no time for the fallen during times of war :(
Just watched this again last night. Ya know, I know these series tend to get some critical flack due to how cheesy the dialogue can be and the clunky CGI against more traditional animation, but if you take a step back and really look into it, Cybertron has some fantastic moments such as this. Other moments I like are Coby’s development, Lori’s relationships with Scourge and Override, and just how likable the Cybertron Defense Force is. I’ve been binging these episodes courtesy of Tubi, and I’m surprised that I about enjoy it as much as I did when I was young, probably because of how much it would later influence the TF series to come thanks to the introduction of primes other than Optimus. Thank you, Hasbro, for a trilogy of fun, strange, and at times a little cringey cartoons that made Saturday mornings worth getting up for, and, to date, the best transformers toys.
I'm listing nonresurected heroes. Ironhide, ratchet, prowl, brawn, huffer, red alert, tracks, wheeljack, wind charger, Dinobot, tigatron, airazor, rhinox, tigatron, vector prime 15 autobots all these sparks push the tide of war they may not have made it but led their legacy to a future until all are one 😿
@@blueraccoon1088 ohh i thought you listed across all eras. To be frank, i thought only 4 died from readin bout the movie. Tho lookin at it, the movie was unnecessarily brutal in slaughtering the autobots whereas the decepticons… only really lose starscream in a quick blast
Cried my eyes out when I saw this on Galaxy Force (Japanese version with subtitles). I really wish they hadn't changed the music though, IMHO it lost something. This was hands down the best scene of that messy series :) Does anyone still have their Vector Prime toy, like me?
When Dinobot died,it feelt like a big responsiblty. Because any possible loose now means his sacrifice was in vain. There is no turning back. When Transmutate died, you feelt like you commit the biggest sin. When Rhinox died,it felt really tragic. But you know he had it coming. But when Vector prime died, you feelt hopefull and Optimistic. Because he gived a second chance.
Let's not our emotions get in control to the loss of Vector Prime. Even though he might be gone and join with the Matrix, Vector Sigma and the Allspark, he'll always be with us in our hearts. In the words of Primus, Till All Are One.

I like to think that a statue was made on Cybertron after the end of the series possibly near where they initially placed the Omega Lock
He was trying to ensure that vector prime’s sacrifice wouldn’t be in vain
Aside from Quickmix & the minicons, all of Team Prime gave Vector Prime a farewell salute.
