If they were having a heartfelt one to one like Riley and Erin, it would've made more sense. But given the urgency and serious nature of the situation, he could've made his point with far fewer words.
I agree. Put in another moment in the story this would have been nice. But him having this monologue in the midst of such urgency and danger felt really uncalled for and out of place.
As another Muslim, I'm on the fence about how much I like Hassan. This show does such a good job of covering racial topics with grace It so easily can veer into pandering, and by not doing that, the message truly hits its audience
Just my opinion, but I really wished that they could've cut down on some of the long monologues, so that Sheriff Hassan had more screen/character building time. In fact, I wouldn't have minded switching the story's perspective from Riley's to his as the "outsider looking in".
That would’ve been interesting. It would’ve also made for a humorously ironic dynamic, what with him being also being a religious man whose views are altruistic and harmless, yet being seen as a threat by the people forming an actual death cult.
Anyone who skipped is foolish. Those monologues are what make this miniseries so amazing. Anyone willing to skip the monologues should just not watch at all.

An awesome performance by Rahul. As a Muslim, he has my stamp of approval. The monologue itself is very well-written, but I have to say it feels a little bit forced in light of the story's circumstances at that point. Being a Muslim in the modern world now is not a cakewalk anymore you literally get judged by everything you do and how you do it. They expect you to slip up so they can say bad things about our religion but never do bad things especially when the world is watching! What you do in the privacy of your own is not my business.
But most of us always thrive to do better, our religion teaches us to always be kind towards others no matter their skin pigmentation.
It's in our religion to be good to everyone no matter what happens, as he says " dignity " is a high standard we must obtain all the time.
In our beautiful religion, a true gentleman is someone who can control his emotions towards others " never be angry or yell at others " no matter what!
If you speak always be kind and gentle towards others, you want them to understand you.
It's extremely hard to always be disciplined and have no bad behaviors yes i agree especially when everything is stacked against you trust me.
But our faith teaches us never ever lose faith no matter what happens, if you do lose it that is when you have lost sight of who you are for a little bit and when you start to doubt yourself and for what you stand for but do not let it, just go outside walk it off and get some highly earned fresh air. And you will be fine after:)
Note:
If i as a Muslim man make a mistake blame me for being wrong, but do not blame my religion because my religion is perfect!
we as people make a lot of mistakes granted even i do, but that doesn't mean my religion is bad no, that means i have been bad and not my religion.
My religion doesn't teach bad! It's my way of doing it that is bad.
this man spoke for millions of Muslims across the world
Nobody is treated as bad as non muslims are treated in muslim majority countries. So no. In the Middle East, you can’t own property as foreigners. Can’t eat outside during Ramadan. In Pakistan people have weaponised blasphemy laws. So no. They are not some oppressed minority throughout the world. As an outsider, America is one of the fairest places in the world. All the people crying of oppression, people in their origin countries, treat others much worse.
"One bad apple spoil the bunch" comes to mind.
@@foofoo3344 Half of British Muslims think homosexuality should be illegal. 25% thinks Britain should be governed under Sharia law. This is in a liberal western democracy. So imagine what is the case in a country that isn’t a liberal democracy. So the “few bad apples” argument doesn’t hold water.
Enough with a Martyr act
@@mignik01 There are non - Muslims in Middle Eastern countries and life is not shit for them as you say. In UAE, there are temples and gurudwaras. Rich western people ( maybe not broke guys like you) go to Dubai for holidays. Middle East was peaceful before your country interrupted. You forgot Iraq, didn’t you? Of course you did. What can be expected of hypocrites like you? Watch travel vloggers. Americans travel to Iraq and they are amazed by their hospitality and friendliness. If you are ignorant, vloggers will show you that media made you fear peaceful people. If you are prejudiced against Islam or Muslims, nothing can be done then.Btw sharia law doesn’t mean that people of others religions will be screwed. Sharia law in things like hanging rapists etc. When Muslims say they prefer sharia law, that doesn’t mean they want to radicalize your country. It’s just that they would prefer to live in a country which has sharia law but they have no problem with your country as well. Widen your knowledge. You don’t get to judge a quarter of humanity like that. America did many evils but I personally don't think all Americans are like that. I blame the politicians not the people
What he says sounds a lot like the methods J Edgar Hoover used during the Civil Rights movement
Acting based on true stories hit differently💔💯
He need more good character roles he really did a great job in this.
after watching him in izombie going from english accent to american accent is crazy ... my head hurts great Performa
By far the BEST Netflix show ever and my all time top favourite, anytime, any day.
Script
Cinematography
Dialogues
Story telling
Acting
Characters
Everything is PERFECT !
To this day, one of the best monologues ever preformed
The best way to integrate a community is to make them understand the importance of public service
It’s crazy how Rahul changes into a completely different person with an American accent
Wow....just wow. What a scene! That was honestly fantastic.
As someone who's long admired the art of dead eye acting and the inability to convey emotion, I have to rate this as amongst one of the great performances.
This is probably one of the most underrated shows, the best part are not the scary scenes but the dialogue
He is a fine actor.. Played role brilliantly..
I did not know this man. But I know him now.
it's not just being a muslim police officer. the betrayal is deeper when you consider he's an american too.
Yeah in the classroom when he explains how Islam knows Jesus and they have the same "characters" I've been trying to say to Christians for years in order to urge them to not think it's all bad. But every time I get ignored. It's honestly sad. (I'm not religious but I studied religions.)
On behalf of all muslims, thank you with all my heart. Those are the people that need to hear it the most.
If you can, Dont stop trying to explain to them and remember to give examples like: imagine what jesus looks like in your head, beard and wearing a flowy robe? Sounds like a muslim mans attire.
How does mother mary look? Does she have a scarf on her head, oddly similar to muslim womans attire too :)
But regardless thank you for every time you stepped up for us 🇺🇸 🙏
@@greencoolmoss Wait Wait Wait. Some Imam said this right? I heard that somewhere and I was truly Baffled.
Also like @ya bish mentioned, thank you for having a broader mind towards every religion. Thank You for stepping up and supporting us.

'Hollywood Bad Boy' Rahul Kohli strikes again
Wanted to post this exact comment as well. I'm happy for Rahul.
Mr. Fashion is on Fire.
Fuckin A man, from seeing this brilliant comedian on Funhaus to seeing him flex not only his acting chops, but his humanity for this role is absolutely gobbsmacking.
Well done Mr. Kohli 🤙
I loved this show and not just because of this scene. The writing was truthful, critical, brilliant-all without being disrespectful. Also, Rahul is such a great actor!
saw him in fall of house of usher too, man's good.
And I didn't even know he was British UNTIL I saw "The Fall of the House of Usher".
The irony is that the actor who plays the Muslim Sheriff comes from a Hindu Family that fled from Pakistan in 1947.
So what? Dilip Kumar was also from Pakistan so what's the point??
Give my boy Rahul more roles pls 🙏
I know him from Funhaus but he’s a great actor this show really showed me that
