DUDE, I had an 85 FLHTC with the batwing fairing. I had a cigarette lighter, and an AM/FM/Cassette on a bracket with the speakers attached through drilled holes through the fairing. I also had a Kawasaki KZ 1100 with the Vetter fairing, saddlebags, and trunk. I feel so old now, lol.

My brother called me a monster for not listening to music while I ride lol. I just bought a 2020 Street Glide Special in May, and I've yet to turn the radio on lol.
The 2024 is really cool with all the new features, I just can't justify the expense right now. My 2013 Road Glide with some changes over time to make it more like the newer bikes is where I am able to put my money. Love the older bikes but they have really come a long way with the new bikes.
😂, I feel called out!! I everyday a FXDL and don't care for all the bells and whistles. I like the wind and my leather pro bags and strapping a bag to my sissy bar if needed for cross country. That being said, I believe in your point of having a second bike and would love to have a CVO too when I can afford one 😆
My first "tour ride" was last year from MS Gulf Coast area to Maggie Valley and on to the Northern end of the Blueridge Parkway. On a Tri Glide . Built to tour. Can't wait to do another !!
I can only set goals and hope that one day my channel is big enough and I am as fortunate as you to have Harley Davidson loan me one of their baddest bikes to check it out and review👊🏻
Picked up my 24 RoadGlide, whiskey 🔥 and man I dig it. So much fun to ride, looks awesome. Adjusted the bars to be inline with the bars, Rockford st2 audio and Khromewerks mufflers. Just tossed some rear crash guards, shift link and few other decorative pieces.

Now that I’m older, I decided to add some tunes to my bike. I have a ‘17 RK and put the Boss 1k watt, 4 speaker, Bluetooth system on my ride. Two speakers on the handlebars, and two on the engine guards. Easy to install, costs less than $200 on Amazon, and me and the Mrs. enjoy music when we want too. The low end is a little thin, but still enjoyable to listen to while riding. Just a suggestion.
I prefer analog gauges over digital. Sure I would like more than 40 horsepower. 80 horsepower is good for me. I'll take standard forks but give me duel disk. I don't need a stereo or any other electronics. I don't need a top bag either. I've done multi-state tours on various bikes. You can pretty much store on anything as long as you can get comfortable and you're able to pack the things you need.
Can only afford one Harley it's a 2019 breakout all i need is the sound of the pipes a bag strapped to the sissy bar and the songs rollin in my head 🤘🤘🤘
Need a key to open the little storage area and the gas tank. Here is a life hack, but extra keys and some radio knobs. Cut the key to length needed and heat it and press it into the knob and melt it into them. Fill the back with some epoxy and there you go a key, just put it in the gas lid and leave it. Pull up to pump and just turn the knob to open LOL A common Goldwinger mod. I have done to my gas tank. Be safe, have fun.
The '24 ST has a plastic oil pan and plastic 1/4 turn oil drain plugs which they did for weight reduction? Wow, Harley must have saved .05 lb. People are stripping out the drain plugs. Regardless It's not a good idea. That in itself is a deal killer for me. 😔
The CVO ST is cool, but I don’t see myself spending that kind of money for something that isn’t ready for hardcore 600-1000 mile days off the show room floor.
I love having my radio I have a 2003 ultra classic and a 2022 Tri Glide and I do miss the cd player and the cb that is on the 03 but I never really liked that style of bike you have I do like that they are having better paint jobs my 2022 paint is really ugly it’s midnight crimson and black they needed to brighten it up
I have Demons, I need the Radio to block out the noise. I ran for a year on. A road king and 2 months in I had to have something, why I got my Street glide.
Brother....buy the God damn bike!!!! You love it!! I saw one in person and I would buy the white pearl in a heart beat...I just sunk 10k in my 23...😢 I could actually just buy one!!
Love my 2010 Road King, most of the time I'm just fine with it not having a stereo or hands free cell capabilities. Hell, I didn't even have windshield the first couple years I had it. I'm the third owner so I'm guessing the windshield it came with is sitting forgotten in the back of one of the first two owners garage or basement. Having said that, if I should happen to come across a fairing that uses the existing QD windshield mount for easy install/removal with a plug and play stereo built in for the right price i would most likely get it for all day rides and long trips.
As you were going over the old Harley bits, nothing surprising. That was the 80’s. Then you said the engine had 50hp, and I was like WTF? I thought by then those engines were putting out around 70hp. My 05 Sportster put out 57hp and that bike probably weighs half as much as your bike. Can’t believe 50hp can move that bike with two people on it.
Sad day, saying bye to that Bad MFr 😢 I'm not in the tax bracket for a CVO but do believe 2024 will be looked back on as a "milestone" year. So im looking at the base model (color upcharge) Street Glide (prefer the cockpit of the SG and dig the pistol tray). Getting closer. So close that i actually AVOID the dealership lol What i wanna know is - Can i get those "frame slider" style crash bar (front an rear) on a non CVO SG? They look so much more up to date that the big old (loop style) engine an bag guards.
I am curious how your flight from Amsterdam was 17 hours, did you have a layover somewhere, I only ask as my wife just spent a week in Hamburg and flew direct from IAH in Houston to Amsterdam and it was 10 hours and flew direct from Frankfurter to IAH Houston and it was 10.5 hours so Amerstdam to Miami should not be more than 10 hours I would think. Yes my wife travels internationally for work, but not nearly as often as you and only to Northern Germany for the most part.
All the tech kind of puts me off. I'd love to have a glide on those 800 mile days across the country, but at all other times it seems like just something that can break that I won't be able to fix.

The direction of Royal Enfield is something HD should be looking at very closely. It’s about expanding the desire of motorcycling and making the bikes affordable to entry motorcyclists. JMHO…
I have a 2022 road glide thats a full built bagger w a 131, inverted ohlins fork, ohlins rear and all cyro lighting anddddd less than 500 miles. Economy F’d me here in Colorado, 10 ways to sunday, and i can barely keep the bike and put food on the table. Im PISSED every time i watch a video!
Not harley. So no one cares. But in the summer of 69 in Calgary Alberta i met 3 guys on the then Brand New Honda 750/4 motorcycles that had ridden from New York to Florida. Across through Texas to California up to British Columbia and were heading East across Canada back to New York. Actually answered a dumb 13 year olds questions !! 🙂
I bought my first ever Harley this year. Got a great deal on a new 23 CVO Street Glide in the Dark Platinum. Just got it back from the 1k service and I’ll be doing stage 1, KW exhaust, and SE wedge air cleaner tomorrow.
