[Tetris Effect: Connected] Connected, Area 2 Maniac (ft. Blink & uyeshota)

- last friday night, blink, uyeshota and myself collabed in order to defeat all the bosses in Connected mode, but with the Maniac setting on.
can confirm that it makes bosses send more frequent, more annoying effects, and they likely play faster. meanwhile, our connected meter fills much more slowly than normal.
they do get deadlier over time, and as we went in very unprepared (no optimization in dealing with effects, or sending the largest connected attack) and just had fun.

The fast is effectively useless, unless you suck at the game or have only played ancient versions (no hate on the '89ers) it's almost not even noticeable, and sometimes can even help SuperVinlin
@@TS_Mind_Swept Fast can get effective, but only if you get it at least 3 times in a row at which the speed can be as fast as master M20. This can happen if you play against Tetrimidion 🤪

Oh, I know what the deal is with the unstable blocks! The only explode if you put them down in a spot where they are touching other unstable blocks, horizontally or vertically. If you touch unstable blocks with normal blocks or vice versa, they won't detonate.
So the key to managing unstable blocks is to make sure to surround them with normal blocks, and to *never* let two unstable pieces touch.
I've heard that you can strategically blow up a bad board sometimes if you know what you're doing.
This level of play is only S rank for everyone? from literally the best players in the world...

@@patrickbone5993 On the middle, Doremy's board, there's a floating block left behind when they disconnect, and he put in a long bar on the right which turns the space into a DT Cannon setup instead.

Also I hope this really gives Tetris Effect at least months of people playing or streaming consistently...this expansion (well for the PS4 and Epic releases) is actually something to behold, especially Classic Score Attack and the Connected modes

I start struggling at area 4 normal mode, and keep losing at leo because of hide field.
Update: can't get past phase 1 of area 5 due to not having determined teammates that choose not to revive.
Update v2: stuck at phase two now because of teammates building too high all the time.
My teammates try to hog the limelight in stasis mode. Jamming their pieces into the same slots as mine
I never heard anybody refer to the zone like that...
Man I managed to clear phase 2 of area 5 with a really solid team but not psat that. My own Tetris skills have improved alot since that run though, so I will probably give it another shot here sooner rather than later
But man I do not plan on fighting Maniac bosses anytime soon (as if I have a friend group of solid players for that in the first place)

Doremy has an advantage here in this because he is in slot 2, which doesn't move nearly as much as the other two.

I find the AI opponents good in this game. The only thing I do not understand from watching is the AI's defense bar. The first attack sent by the trio was 15 lines but the AI I think only got 12 lines. How does the defense bar work?
It’s not a bar, it’s the energy orbs floating around the AI avatar that represents defensive energy somehow.
IDK how the math works for how many solid lines send from what amount of CONNECTED ZONE attack is.
However, it's simple to tell for the DEFENSE mode. It's basically the boss randomly switches between attack(filling up their bar to send modifiers to the players) and defense. It's basically that.

@@berries372 yea but this one is still good i think the person recorded the game play and edited everything out. Or turned off sound effects in settings which idk if its possible since i dont own it and never wanted to turn off effects cuz the sounds and all make it a better gameplay experience..i played it on gamepass.
@@dailydoseofgtaonline448 Yeah, there is an option to turn off SFX Volume, or at least lower it
tbh I don't find this mode to be particularly fun to watch, slower pace, lack of impact (you can do something that'd do lots of damage in other games yet here you hardly see the feedback of what you did) and monochromatic pieces ughh (plus the cpu is painful to watch)
