Brian Greene: I’m Brian Greene, professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University and co-founder of the World Science Festival.
It's critical that you realize that there are two types of time travel, and they are radically different. Time travel to the future? Definitely possible.
We know how to do it because Einstein showed us the way over a hundred years ago. It’s surprising how few people actually really know about this in their bones. He showed that if you go out into space and travel near the speed of light, and you turn around, and you come back, your clock will be ticking off time more slowly. So, when you step off it's going to be the future on planet Earth. You will have time traveled into the future.
He also showed that if you hang out near a nice strong source of gravity - a neutron star, a black hole - and you kind of get right near the edge of that object, time also for you would slow down real slow relative to everybody else. And therefore, when you come back to Earth, for instance, it'll again be far into the future.
This is not controversial stuff. Any physicist who knows what they're talking about agrees with this. But the other kind of time travel - to the past is where the arguments start to happen because many of us don't think that time travel to the past is possible.
The main proposal that people at least consider worthy of attention for traveling to the past does make use of a weird concept called wormholes. A wormhole is something that really … Albert Einstein again discovered. The guy has like got his name written over everything in this field.
It's a bridge, if you will, from one location space to another. It's kind of a tunnel that gives you a shortcut to go from here to here. Now he discovered this in 1935 but it was subsequently realized that if you manipulate the openings of a wormhole - put one near a black hole or take one on a high-speed journey - then time of the two openings of this wormhole tunnel will not take off at the same rate, so that you will no longer just go from one location in space to another, if you go through this tunnel - through this wormhole - you'll go from one moment in time to a different moment in time. Go one way, you'll travel to the past, the other way, travel to the future.
Now again, we don't know if wormholes are real. We don't know if they are real whether you'll be able to go through them. So, there are all sorts of uncertainties here. Most of us think that you're not going to actually go on a whirlwind journey through a wormhole to the past. But it's still not ruled out.

U have to know that most of thr theories or discoveries are given fr the ideal matter or conditions but not attainable

There are wormholes for magnetic fields but for a human time travel wormhole you may need the energy of several stars to power it and make it the size of a big planet (maybe Venus). I don't think we're advanced yet for things like that but hey, people thought flying around the globe and off to the space were ridiculous ideas too... who's to say nothing is possible. Crazy people want to change the world but they might as well be able to do so.

So to summarize, time travel to the future is entirely possible, however time travel to the past using wormholes is only theoretically possible at the moment. With technological advancement increasing exponentially, it is entirely possible that the ability to time travel will be completed within our lifetimes.
@ApexTV Time travel is impossible.What I believe is travelling at the speed of light could affect things/our body physically. We could only look younger or older,sicker or healthier. And that is not time travel, it's ageing. There are different phenomena around the universe that could affect ageing and the tick of your clock. Time travel is self-centered theory just like the Greeks created the Earth-centered model of our Solar System. If you just reference time to our universe's existence, you won't consider time travel is possible.

I experienced a worm hole in a vivid dream the other night - it helped me float, held me up, was clear, swirling and protected me - I didn’t time travel - it was like training to see how to travel and I woke up to 369 running through my head - very vivid and unusually joyful. I jumped into it. Strange it was so real.

If you go near a spot that has a lot of powerful gravity, you age slower than everyone else, and time around goes slower too. When you get back to earth, time has gone the same speed as always, expect for where you are. You’re now in the future.

Either with warmholes or not, if you step near a black hole or manage to reach something close the speed of light, you will go back in time. On the other hand, if you step out of either one of these situations, you will go forth in time.

I don't think that's giving it full credit. Some of it is certain, like rockets launched in space and whatnot. Some of it predictions and guessing, but with heavy and careful calculations behind it. It isn't just random people making off-hand guesses.
well thats whats exciting about it...there were theories of einstein that was left unsolved, but 100 years later because of our advancing technology new scientists proved one of his theories true(forgot the theory), so we never know :)

Another thing I was thinking is, any object with mass will demand infinite amount of energy to reach light speed and thus time travel. But what about massless "things". If we send a chunk of wireless digital information (which travels at the speed of light by definition) in space for a year and then use a way to deflect it back to earth, won't it arrive in the future?
This gives me a lot of hope
We can not time travel in the past but we can ,theoretically, observe it. If we were like 200 million light years away and we had a telescope that is like 132 light years in diameter we could see individual species on earth (Earth 200 Million years ago). Because that is the time that light needs to travel to reach the destination .But if we could somehow survive on other planets and have the possibility to teleport, than it could be possible. Also wormholes could be a possibility the closest possibility to travel back in time.

So it wouldn't be time travel. . .it would just mean we are seeing a projection/reflection of something that no longer exists. Like watching a movie from the 1950's wouldn't take us into the 1950's. That's why I don't believe in Einsteins theory that traveling the speed of light would cause time travel.

The only reason why I've always wanted to go back to the past is to prevent my step dad's murder..it happened when I was only 6/7 years old (2010/11). Even though I was so young, my memories were so clear, I do remember nearly every single memory with him but I can only remember things since the age of 3. He was so important to me, I did one time think he was actually my dad, such a precious soul gone too soon. I've never been to his grave and the last time I saw him and his family was before his death which was about 8 years ago (they live in a different country). I'm not sure if they ever found the killers or ever got justice but I really hope they did. My mum is yet again married, I think from the fear of being lonely. I've never asked her where he was buried or if we can see his grave because I'm not sure if she knows herself and I don't want to upset her but I know I'm gonna have to bring it up very soon possibly this year or next year. I just want to see him one last time just for a few more minutes.

And then just ask them the technology of how to travel back in time. After that. bring the technology with you and then just travel back to your timeline. This whole time travel thing my dumb as was watching a k-drama on Viki and it had timed comments and my dumb as thought that people in the past were communicating because some comment from 2019 would pop up and some comment from 2016 would pop up responding to the comment from 2019 and I was just in the chat saying shit like stack on water and tissues and avoid 2020 at all cost

From a simulation point of view. To reload the past is to delete the present. If we could connect to and control the computer we theoretically live in and reload we would also need access to edit the save file and copy and paste the code lines that is ourselves to exist in the past.

It's impossible to travel back in the past but u can in the future as going forward and back have different effects due to time.
If u were to attempt to go back to the past u would be pulled back to your time almost immediately but if u were to go to the future u could stay there however the things I do in the future could be changed by the present so is it worth it really?

Point is realivity theory, how fast time passes is dependent of your speed. Theoreticly if You travel at speed of light time and got to the star that is 5 light years from Earth, and then go back for You it will be like a secound, but after you get to Earth you realize that 10 years passed

Uh Kind of? It means that at speed of light you would literaly teleport to other place on the universe from your point of view while people on Earth would see you traveling at speed of light from one place to another (so quiet slow when it comes to distances in universe)
