Baiken looks so happy in this game.
Considering what happened to Japan in Guilty Gear, it should be obvious
Good to see they've kept so many shoutouts to the old games (Iroha being aware of the player (who is presumed to be her Master") and Shizumaru being possessed by Zakuro)
From what I saw yes, the player is the "master"

Shame this game couldn't be more successful. It's really good. I hope one day it'll get a rollback update.
Hopefully we'll get that in the sequel with SNK already abandon ship from this game to King of Fighters 15 (luckily that game has better rollback netcode).
This game is dead no one playing ONLINE no causal no rank matches at all
@unixjpn blame SNK'S own selfish stupidity for a lazy online service (until 2023) and vomiting crappy guest fighters like the Warden & that stupid rabbit girl that nobody asked for but themselves over original fighters such as Gen-An, Sieger, Nicotine, and Zankuro, quickly turning the game from a revival into an EA inspired cynical corporate cash grab.

Honestly, props to Galeford's VA for the surprisingly good English. He really pushes the idea that he's from America.
I barely played the game due to the online being real bad but this was definitely my favorite fighting game last gen.
It has rollback netcode now, so the online isn't bad at all anymore! You willing to go back to this game?
Amakusa is the best for me. There's something so cruel about cursing your opponent and then crushing him like a bug. And that blood splatter is like the cherry on top.

SamSho 2019 is excellent man, as a longtime fan of the series i absolutely love it. I really wish SNK would go back and give it rollback, the game deserves it.

Well they finally confirmed that they are improving rollback netcode for 2023. Hopefully by then, the game gets enough support for SNK to consider adding more original fighters with absolutely no guest characters (especially from online multiplayer games) for future DLC.

Shizumaru actually has a VERY cool lore reason for his. In story, he's possessed by the ghost of a powerful and violent swordsman known as Zakuro (also a former bonus boss who could kill you in 3 hits max), which is why his eyes change color and he seems horrified by it at the end

Warden being in this game is the most bizarre thing and I love it
I wanted Warden to do more half-swording techniques. The catapult seems sorta out of place among the supers since it's not him that's actually dealing the damage.
I love Hibiki..............her special move is amazing

God damn SNK still has that flare with their supers.
SNK can also place Brazilian cangaceiros in the franchise. These desert pirates who lived between the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, in addition to firearms, also used swords and very violent techniques of decapitation, amputation and blows very similar to these characters.

Samurais have honor, cangaceiros were bandits. Social banditry is still banditry, it's still organized crime despite your feelings about it. This is "Samurai Shodown", not "Killer Instinct".

@Art Ken they never said anything about it being restricted to just video game characters only. I just would have rather had a better guest fighter choice like Guts or Afro Samurai over the Warden, that slut bunny from that Chinese League of Legends boot-leg, or any character from Call of Duty, Fortnite, Overwatch, League of Legends, and any other popular & overrated online multiplayer game. Seriously, it felt like SNK only brought Samurai Shodown back as a cynical corporate cash-grab that advertises other games rather than to reintroduce an arcade hit that hasn't had a game in years. But what I wanted was more original fighters such as Gen-An, Sieger, and Nicotine. But instead, they have been carelessly pushed aside to fart in guest characters that nobody wanted but themselves which is what ultimately killed Samsho 2019 and thus SNK shot themselves in the foot.

Amakusa's one thooo. The way he just talks a bunch of crap to you while he squeezing your soul outta your body just hits different oof. Add it with a crazy blood splattered face and you have one of the best supers in the game

Same here. That green hunchback with the Freddy Kruger claws is my favorite fighter in Samurai Shodown and would have been perfect for the game. Hopefully they'll bring him back for a sequel along with so many other fighters who were cut.

SS 1-6 are on PS4 PSN Store, arcade perfect. SS64, Sen and the RPG are the best ones though.

@@lipstickzombie4981 You can play him in Soulcalibur VI were you can create a new character and use the Korok outfit if you have the SamSho DLC and make the style Taki or Cervantes (those are the only characters that use his flags as weapons I think)
For me personally: Gen-An, Kusaregedo (Don't judge me! I love the Hungry Ghost), Ocha-Maro, Rasetsumaru, Mizuki, Nicotine, Sieger, Rera, Zankuro, and Gaoh.
Though it appears that Samsho 2019 has dropped the towel, hopefully SNK will make a sequel with more original characters added.
